The FAA in 2012 went to using biographical information to hire candidates rather than training and talent assessment testing (the test that was released in court documents showed things like: You would get 1 point on your score for every high school sport you played, several points if you were unemployed, and surprisingly if you have a pilot's license or previous experience you get 0 points) The FAA is still paying for this blunder and during this time thousands of students paying for their own training gave up trying to get in and moved on with their lives. They probably are not "understaffed", they just don't have enough qualified controllers.

Don’t just blame the local controllers, pilots are not clearing runways either!

BS. This was all on the ground controller, not the pilots. If it weren’t for the quick response from the JB captain, it would’ve been a catastrophe!

Based on everything the media has told me, I think this is clearly Boeing's fault.

It was blatantly obvious, wasn’t it? Guess they no longer teach ICAO terminology either? Sounded like a bored 911 dispatcher, not a ATC pushing tin!

If there was more diversity in the tower they could have discussed and come to a consensus. I fly a lot please fix this!

Let the record show that Spirit has never had any air/runway troubles 😂. May very well be ghetto but you’ll be safe.

Should have airplanes talking to each other as a backup measure. Have AI track the planes and possible scenarios

DEI hires for ATC? I hope people think about who they vote for office next time, but probably wont!
