I got the biggest one and bring this along with a HP Spectre X360 whole travelling. Cables, accessories, everything all fit into a small laptop bag. Absolutely love my travel set up.
Choosing between the Espresso 15 Touch and the Lenovo ThinkVision Touch, both have their plusses and minuses, biggest one being Espresso uses the MPP 2.0 pen so I don't have to buy another one and it doesn't need an external power supply. ThinkVision is cheaper and fits into my Lenovo ecosystem, but external power and I'd be buying the Active Pen 1 to add to the collection of pens around my desk space 🤔
I’ve got the slim pen 2 and really wanted a display that can still make use of this pen. I’ve got the SLS. This is my new display. Just have to not think too much of the cost 😂
Hi Brett As always productive review...thanks From the review I came to know that this device is not very friendly with Surface Pro 8 due to the resolution perhaps therefore I would like to ask a recommendation for portable monitor to SP8...Or is there any review for portable monitors for surface pro line. Thank you
I considered getting this and watched a bunch of videos on it but then started looking into an iPad Pro using sidecar and I determined that was the better option since I can also use the iPad without the computer. Got an iPad for even cheaper than the espresso
Looks good! Perhaps even with the Renaisser pen. I'll like to see a more deep dive to see how it responds with graphics app, is there lag? Jitters? As it is certainly compelling with its light weight, clean lines and easy cable.
Well I touch my MacBook Pro screen all the time and I'm so glad nothing moves on it. But I do like touchscreens for specific purposes more so pen input screens.
I bought a pen enable 14in monitor from Lenovo for $250, this is over $1000 once you add the accessories (the lenovo had a built in kickstand and wacom pen in the box). What's nice here is the stand and the cable adapters, what's ugly is the huge chin. But the price is the real hurdle, this is the price of a large flaship tablet...
Brett great review as always. Can this monitor be powered by a Surface Pro X SQ2 via USB-C or does it need an external power source? Keep up the great work!
I've had it for 60 days now, just to let you guys know that it has started to get internal cracks. My use case was very limited and I was very cautious with it, having purchased the case and another layer for transport. :((( I reported this to customer service but they don't believe in the customer and were not even willing to investigate. It appears to be made with cheap materials.
Is this working in logic pro, cubase and ableton? Is the input pen configurable and has different buttons for click and hold, right click, double click, extra functions etc. ? Is the touch function muted when the pen is used so the hand doesn't trigger any input information when put on the screen while using the pen?
Not at this stage! Wireless connection tends to have a lag which can become quite annoying when working. Supports any laptop as we offer USB C, Mini-DP and HDMi connections. For other devices, best to send support@espres.so an email and they will let you know what additional cables you'll need if the espresso is compatible with the device 👍
I recently purchased this gadget after hearing rave reviews on RUclips, but to be frank, it's the sleek aesthetic design that really steals the show. Unfortunately, the resolution and speakers are not quite up to scratch and I found them to be rather substandard. All things considered, it's not really worth the price tag in my opinion.
Considering buying this for use with Surface Pro 8. Will the SP8 receive enough power to charge from the SP8 official power adapter while the espresso display is connected? I'm worried the SP8 will slowly drain if it can't keep up with the increased power draw of the monitor.
No, the monitor doesn't draw much power at all. The USB-C Port can only output 10W, so it uses less than that. The Surface power adapter is 60W so there's plenty of power to go around.
Perhaps you didn't understand the video? Nearly the entire video is about using this with Surface and Windows. All of the demos here are on Surface Pro 8, Pro X and Surface Studio. Mini Display Port is only necessary on Surface without USB-C on board.
@@oztabletpc Thanks for the review and responding to comments! Does the surface pen (non slim) also attach magnetically to the side of the espresso display? Thank you!
basic question : On one note, can you move with your finger and write with the stylus seperatly ? Regards. I ordered one from asus and it looks that you can not do that ... Is the stylus given with it or can you plug any bluetooth pen like the raphael renaisser 520 ?
This touchscreen device is limited to a specific set of commands. Unlike traditional touch screens (such as tablets or iPads), there are certain touch functionalities that are not applicable and may not work.

I have the espresso Display V1 which I am planning to use with my new Surface Pro 8.. Currently I am using it as a touch display with a pretty high powere miniPC. Is there any way to get pen support on that version? @espressoscreen I am not enjoying the Espresso Case. I am finding the magnets too weak to hold it on reliably and there isnt a lot of range in the angles.
My V2 just arrived. No pen included . I think it is a seperate accessory. your video is just a little misleading i was expecting the pen to be included. Great device and although not cheap, seems very fair for what you get with the support and accessories.

Yep!
A horse a buggy are touch inputs, pen inputs, trackpads, mice and voice as all of them are exponentially slower than using just the keyboard.
Yep. And that is just one of the reasons that pen should be used over keyboard. You can be fastest in a straight line and srill lose the race.

Don't know about that model specifically. Recent HP devices have used Wacom AES which is not compatible.

Does the touch feature only work for apple products?
No.
Does it charge from a USB-C to power, or only from a device? Either way, mine seems to be constantly sleeping :(
If your device puts out 10W it should work without additional power input. Otherwise you can use a power supply. Verify and check cables.

Hi Horst, I'm not sure if I can make a specific recommendation. I like your idea though.

On a PC yes. PCs have had handwriting recognition 'like an iPad' for over 20 years now. 😁

Most likely, check the espresso website.
