Choosing between the Espresso 15 Touch and the Lenovo ThinkVision Touch, both have their plusses and minuses, biggest one being Espresso uses the MPP 2.0 pen so I don't have to buy another one and it doesn't need an external power supply. ThinkVision is cheaper and fits into my Lenovo ecosystem, but external power and I'd be buying the Active Pen 1 to add to the collection of pens around my desk space 🤔

    Hi Brett
    As always productive review...thanks
From the review I came to know that this device is not very friendly with Surface Pro 8 due to the resolution perhaps therefore I would like to ask a recommendation for portable monitor to SP8...Or is there any review for portable monitors for surface pro line.
    Thank you

I considered getting this and watched a bunch of videos on it but then started looking into an iPad Pro using sidecar and I determined that was the better option since I can also use the iPad without the computer. Got an iPad for even cheaper than the espresso

Looks good! Perhaps even with the Renaisser pen.
I'll like to see a more deep dive to see how it responds with graphics app, is there lag? Jitters?
As it is certainly compelling with its light weight, clean lines and easy cable.

I bought a pen enable 14in monitor from Lenovo for $250, this is over $1000 once you add the accessories (the lenovo had a built in kickstand and wacom pen in the box). What's nice here is the stand and the cable adapters, what's ugly is the huge chin. But the price is the real hurdle, this is the price of a large flaship tablet...

I've had it for 60 days now, just to let you guys know that it has started to get internal cracks. My use case was very limited and I was very cautious with it, having purchased the case and another layer for transport. :((( I reported this to customer service but they don't believe in the customer and were not even willing to investigate. It appears to be made with cheap materials.

Is this working in logic pro, cubase and ableton?
Is the input pen configurable and has different buttons for click and hold, right click, double click, extra functions etc. ?
Is the touch function muted when the pen is used so the hand doesn't trigger any input information when put on the screen while using the pen?

Not at this stage! Wireless connection tends to have a lag which can become quite annoying when working. Supports any laptop as we offer USB C, Mini-DP and HDMi connections. For other devices, best to send support@espres.so an email and they will let you know what additional cables you'll need if the espresso is compatible with the device 👍

I recently purchased this gadget after hearing rave reviews on RUclips, but to be frank, it's the sleek aesthetic design that really steals the show. Unfortunately, the resolution and speakers are not quite up to scratch and I found them to be rather substandard. All things considered, it's not really worth the price tag in my opinion.

  • @techie163

Considering buying this for use with Surface Pro 8. Will the SP8 receive enough power to charge from the SP8 official power adapter while the espresso display is connected? I'm worried the SP8 will slowly drain if it can't keep up with the increased power draw of the monitor.

    • @oztabletpc
      @oztabletpc  2 года назад

No, the monitor doesn't draw much power at all. The USB-C Port can only output 10W, so it uses less than that. The Surface power adapter is 60W so there's plenty of power to go around.

    Hi,
I love your review. I need a second monitor which I use for work, I want to use it above my Surface Book 2 for videoconferencing so I can look on eye Level into the camera, either mounted on the second extra monitor or in a ideal work the camera is build in the second monitor, the price is not as important I look for the best choice for me for Business and Video Conferencing. May I ask you to suggest the espresso for me and what kind of mount I shall use?
    Aloha
    Horst Albert
Or do you suggest an other monitor by looking at my needs:
Great Min500 nits to use outside
    300 candela
    Less blue light eye antifatique
Not too high like 4 resolution
    Glass screen no glear
Touch screen for easy menu access
Camera and light or easy to mount
    Light + solid
Stand or even mount for Eye Level Position
Sit upright ...higher than laptop monitor
    15,6 fit in Bag?
    Mini USB
    Strong Battery
    Less frame
    Magnetic cover
