I was looking bloody everywhere for the engine coolant temp sensor on my Mk3 Octavia VRS, thanks for taking the time to make this vid, very helpful👍
Very welcome! Thank you for the feedback!
This was really informative. Great job. A little confusing, but great none the less. I would have never looked for a belt for the water pump in the back of the engine. Never. I'm saving this video since my grandson just got a car with one of these runs in it.
Thank you for the feedback, if you needed a little more info just let me know.
@@Motorcarnut do you know if anyone makes a video of the coil and plug replacement for these engines? The one he has looks like it has 2 sensors per cylinder. I don't recognize what I'm looking at. Mine is so much simpler.
@fredericocorrea9814 I don’t at the moment, sorry.
Thanku for helping us find where the coolant sensor is thankyou THANKU
Sure no problem.
Appreciate the video!
Thank you!
Thanks a lot sir @Mototcarnut. This video helped me.
Sure, no problem! Glad it helped!
I have a 2021 Cupra Leon estate with the 2.0 engine. 310 hp. Im struggling to locate the underside boost sensor that’s meant to be connected to the inlet pipe… could I have some help? Any advice?
I don't have that vehicle in my repair system because it's not sold in the US. Seems like an awesome car! Just follow the the inlet pipe from the boost side on the turbo all the way to the throttle body. Or if not there on the intake manifold there will be a couple of sensors, just search online for the correct part and compare it to the ones on the manifold.
Thanks 👍
No problem 👍
I have a 08 EOS 2.0t komfort, and Im having a difficult time locating the transmission speed sensor. Not the crank speed sensor or ABS speed senor. Google searches always show different cars and videos are too low quality or dont explain it well. Any help would be appreciated
I believe on your vehicle it’s in the valve body in the transmission
Question sir, for replacement of the coolant sensor next to the water pump, can it be reached and replaced without removing the intake manifold?
Yes, but difficult
Is it the same place for Volkswagen Passat 1.4 TSI 2010? I need to change crankshaft on mine.
It’s a different engine but should be in the same general areas.
I got a 2010 cc 2.0t , I got the crank sensor on the valve cover but that harness splits off with another plug that I can’t seem to find the connection for , any help?
There is not supposed to be any other wiring that splits off that plug
what's the black plastic cover to the left of the crankshaft sensor (1:04)? It has a number of torx screws holding it on. I have some oil leaking out of the bottom of that area. Thanks for pointing everything out.
Thats an access for the balance shaft, you can just reseal it.
Great. Thanks for the information. Very helpful@@Motorcarnut
@sanyopoweraid1 Thank you for your feedback appreciated!
Wow motorcarnut you really answer all questions.. it’s old post so response totally understand .. have 2006 Vw Passat 2.0t and car starts good runs good but seems after awhile it stalls and does and if I give it 20-1 hour starts back up .. maybe worse as wetjer gets hot .. researching seems maybe low or high pressure fuel sensor .. what’s your professional opinion?
Does the car have any codes coming up? Could be fuel related
What is that hose with metal on the end hanging next to the oil pressure sensors
Coolant hose for turbo
HI, thanks for the info but you missed 2, bottom of oil pan and there's 1 next to crank pully above the sump do you know what that's called
Thanks!, Bottom of oil pan doesn't have any sensor unless the Audi does which would be oil level sensor. In the other location I didn't see one but that area would be a crankshaft position sensor.
@@Motorcarnut oh sorry I should have said I got the GTI motor, I thought they all be the same for ea888
No they aren’t, but not sure as I don’t have one in front of me right now.
Does this apply to a 2015 audi s3 2.0t tfsi?
It's a little different but should be close
I’m trying to found out where my crankshaft sensor would be on my 2017 TSI SE Jetta 1.4
Should be in the same location, near the back of the engine towards the front of the car
Are there two coolants sensors? 14 jetta gli 2.0t in question
Yes, one is on the lower large coolant hose right near radiator and the other one is underneath the intake manifold, hard to get at.
I have a 09 Passat 2.0t with a p0299 code and was told I need a new turbo. Do you have a video on the removal for the turbo
I’m making one as we speak, hang tight
I’ll be waiting have the new oem turbo coming in this week but I’m also looking to replace my catalytic converter and I’m wondering if the cats from a 2008 Passat 2.0t are compatible with my 2009 Passat Komfort 2.0t? I see the cats for a 2008 Passat being sold for cheaper but a lot of the websites say it’s not compatible with my 09 Passat
Good video.
Where are the sensor turbo map?
Thank you!
It has a mass airflow sensor and it’s on the air intake near filer box
So close to what I was looking for. I can see the plug for the waste gate position sensor plug. I had to replace the wiring harness after a raccoon ate it. What does the other end connect to (I know where it connects to the waste gate actuator, where does the other end go)
I’m not sure what you mean? Just repair what was damaged.
The raccoon ate all but about 1” from the position sensor on the wastegate actuator itself. I don’t know where the corresponding end even connects to for me to pull and repairs it. The engine is still in the engine bay so it’s a tiny space. I can’t really get a good look around
I’ve searched for days. Can’t find any of the wiring diagrams 🤷🏻♂️
2014 cc tsi 2.0 can I swap the engine for 2014 Passat tsi 1.8
I’m not sure, I don’t change engines that were not originally installed
Where is the thermostat switch... NOT sensor? I'm surprised how little people talk about this since this is what would cause a stuck open or closed coolant path situation. Thanks for the video and any help. My intake manifold is currently off the vehicle Will this make reaching said switch easier?
What year and model or talking about? most are controlled by the computers information from the coolant temp sensor?
@@Motorcarnut 2013 Volkswagen Eos
@duckamuck1756 there is no switch in that car just the cts in the water pump hosing
I can't find anything about the 8 sensors above the turbo in the heads. They look like injectors but are not. What the heck are those things?
What year make and engine?
Hi! Where is the Oil temp. sensor? On the Oil pan?
Near oil filter
I have a 2010 Jetta 2.0 tsi, I’m having trouble finding the location of the boost sensor
On the back of turbo near passenger side rail
How many camshaft position sensors does a 2017 Audi A6 2.0T have
One
@Motorcarnut thanks I changed it with a audi sensor, but I'm still getting a code for the camshaft sensor
You have to check the valve timing and the oil control valve. These cars control valve timing with oil .
Hello. Can you please tell me where the oil temp sensor is on the vw passat b7 1.8 TSI?
Should be near the oil filter housing
@@Motorcarnut Thx...gonna give it a look
@@Motorcarnut Checked...it isn't there...🤔
@puffy8992 what year is your vehicle?
@@Motorcarnut 2011
Where is the knock sensor? What do I need to remove to replace it?
It’s under the water pump extremely hard to get to without removing the water pump if I remember correctly and a 10mm triple square socket
whats the easiest way to replace the coolant sensor?
Underneath the car, it's on the lower radiator hose mid way up.
and thats the one next to the water pump or under the intake because theres two sensors i already changed out (G83) and now just need to change (G62)
Which one did you replace? The one on the water pump housing or the pipe?
@@Motorcarnuti replaced the one on the the pipe i just need to replace the one on the water pump. I have access to it now, i removed some things to access it but i ran into an issue. Are both sensors the same ? the one next to the water pump the same than the one on the hose? if i purchase the same one i used for the hose can i use it for the one next to the water pump?
I believe they are different, should have a part number on the sensor itself.
Coolant Sensor ?
One is on the water pump housing and the second one is on the lower radiator hose.
Where is the turbo sensor located
What turbo sensor?
Map sensor?
Located on the turbo intercooler pipe that goes in the throttle body
Where are the knock sensor?
Should be a green plug
@@Motorcarnut green plug? The engine compartment is really dirty in my 2003 VW beetle 1.8l and I cannot find the knock sensors to save my life, specifically the bank 1 (sensor 1). Other youtube videos mix up the terms crankshaft and knock sensors which doesn't help because my crankshaft sensor is now unplugged...
There is a video out there on 2008 vw beetle knock sensors but I cannot distinguish if 2003 knock sensors are located in the same place. Help!
isn’t there two camshaft sensors ?
Not on the 2.0 TSI engine
Where is the MAP sensor?
On the plastic intake manifold
Where is the boost pressure sensor
On the plastic intake pipe near fans in front
Where the map sensor?
That engine uses a Mass Airflow Sensor ( MAF ) not a MAP. It’s located on the air intake tube between the throttle body and air filter housing.
@@Motorcarnut I’ve got a seat Leon cupra 280 and I can’t find the location of a map sensor.
