FINALLY SOMEBODY GIVES THIS MOVIE THE RESPECT IT DESERVES bc i loved this movie and i still dont know why people calld it mid and stuff like that. Edit 1: OMG I’ve never had this many likes before
I proclaim "O for Onward" almost every time I drive with my family lol I love that movie. My kids are 2 and 3, so they haven't yet reached the age to appreciate it
I love Onward so much, there were very few movies i actually remember being excited for and actually making me happy with the final result and this is one of them. I can relate so much to the characters and its just an overall amazing movie, i’m so glad other people find it good aswell :)
It was literally THE last movie I watched in cinemas/theatres before lockdown started, and I still remember how hyped I was when the short that played before it was a Simpsons one!
Seriously though I actually loved this movie but I have not heard anyone talk about it which makes me sad cause this movie if it weren’t for the pandemic this movie might have been classic
Ik we’re talking abt onward, a movie i have not seen fully (only watched like 15-20min), but saying the turning red is bad is so sad to me like it was a rlly good movie i don’t understand why ppl don’t like it :(
I watched and genuinely liked it, I can’t remember much but it shows how many people are willing to go so far to see a loved one again and do outrageous things and stuff they thought they’d never do. All of that under the cover of 2 boys wanting to see their Dad again
My dad died a month before this and when they talked about their dad dying while they were on the cheese puff the story of the dad how he didnt want to see him on the deathbed before he died is shockingly similar to me (except i have no siblings) and to this day i swear someone we know thats ine of our close family friends works at pixar or is a friend of someone who works at pixar
I completely agree. I watched the movie around the time it came out and it was before I had heard anyone’s opinion on the movie, and I thought it great! But when I saw people say it wasn’t a good movie I was confused. Nice to see other people who like the movie!
Its one of the few movies with a happy but bitter ending that I actually liked. It made completely sense for the movie to end the way it did and it was really good.
The other day I was wondering the same thing. I was just lost in my thoughts and remembered that one time I watched the movie with my family. It was surpising it didn't get as much attention, since I remembered it as an actually good and funny movie
I remember going to see this movie with my sister, going out to dinner and all around, having a great time. Then the best day, I got an email from my school saying that we all had to go home for 2 weeks.
FINALLY that movie was amazing me and mum were laughing and crying all throughout the movie it was beautiful and my mum was super amazed it hit her in the feels because it reminded her of her dad We bought spies in disguise (also underrated but less so) and onward on dvd at a bargain bin sale wayched them both at Family movie night and they were both great
YES I love Onward, I will rant to ANYONE who allows me the chance to. I was going to see it in theater, I remember it being advertised only a month or so before lockdown. Definitely one of my favorites
I partially agree with the “last good movie” opinion, I thought soul was peak, and Luca made me cry. Whilst I enjoyed turning red, I’ll admit, it wasn’t great
I watched it. It was a good family movie. About how you have to accept saying goodbye and sibling love. *Spoilers ahead* (I don't remember their names) The younger one gradually sees the older one as his older brother who's always trying to help him instead of seeing him as a weirdo who always messes your chores and life. The older sibling also had growth in his character because instead of forcing himself to give the chance to meet the father to his younger sibling, he realises that the one who most wants to say goodbye is himself. The mom has already moved on and the younger sibling has never met the father at all. All the characters go through growth. I especially like that the mom never really gave up her second marriage for her kids. The lion person also has growth in terms of accepting her natural side instead of always covering it up. The most hilarious thing is despite trying to go on an adventure far far away they just end up going into circles and end up in the school which we see at the beginning of the movie. Like this gives the impression of "the world is so small" instead of the common impression that adventure movies give us. They did no big thing, no world saving and no idolising. They just started a subtle change that brought the magic back into their society- "showing everyone that magic in fact is real"
, I watched this movie three times and I just love it so much but it was hold back because it was made in 2020. I wanted to watch it more in theaters but COVID-19
I also really love soul and turning red. Soul is extremely deep and heartfelt and 22’s arc hit way too close to home for me. And turning red is hilarious and an over all a good time that perfectly captures pre-teenhood.
I love Onward, i havent watched it in a long time but it was great!! Modernised fantasy should be ysed more, i have a physical copy of a webcomic called Hooky, its a modern fantasy with tons of great moments!! My pfp is one of my favourite characters, if you couldnt tell lol
I completely agree, onward is a much better movie than people give it credit for. I do disagree however with the claim that pixar’s quality have diminished. True, the golden age when Pixar used to produce citizen kane-esque quality films is truly behind us but Pixar is remarkably consistent when it comes to the quality of its movies compared to other studios. With exception of buzz lighter year, pixar movies from 2019 to 2024 has been overall good.
I’d like to also add in another reason: the character designs. Im an artist, and although i totally agree with your opinion (that onward is a very heartfelt and underrated movie), the designs are forgettable. Might be because of the color scheme mostly, but the character’s silhouette is too overcomplicated.
Fun fact: I once met the person who wrote the song in the end credits of onward. Her name is Brandi Carlile and she is awesome.
Nice!
That end song hits so hard
Fr though
Omg I love Brandi Carlile! She's one of my favorite country artists!
She also Cooks a good steak
FINALLY SOMEBODY GIVES THIS MOVIE THE RESPECT IT DESERVES bc i loved this movie and i still dont know why people calld it mid and stuff like that.
Edit 1: OMG I’ve never had this many likes before
Tbh I loved it, but only found out what it was after seeing the characters in Disney sorcerers arena
Although I instantly love anything that involves mythology
I love anything fantasy, so this was a great film for me
Honestly, same here
It is *mid* but not mid as in bad, because that’s not what the word means. It was a perfectly average movie that didn’t affect me strongly in any way
I proclaim "O for Onward" almost every time I drive with my family lol I love that movie. My kids are 2 and 3, so they haven't yet reached the age to appreciate it
I saw this movie by accident expecting to see another one.
One of my favorite accidents. Movie made me cry, I loved it
I didnt realise it had Chris pratt and Tom holland
It had Mario and that kid from spies in disguise/ Star Lord and Spiderman
I honestly really loved Onward, and it's one of my favorite pixar films. I just love the fantasy world building, and the plot had me super invested
Naw that music giving me nostalgia😭😭❤️
THANK YOU, I watched it back when it came out and really enjoyed it, but for whatever reason everyone allways hates on it.
This was actually the first movie I saw at the cinema after lockdown!
That was the last one I saw before lockdown and I watched it again after 4 years a week ago
I love Onward so much, there were very few movies i actually remember being excited for and actually making me happy with the final result and this is one of them. I can relate so much to the characters and its just an overall amazing movie, i’m so glad other people find it good aswell :)
i have to disagree with turning red, i absolutely love that movie
H-H-H-H-HELL NAW
@@bushmanstudios2490 do you mean to my comment or this guys comment
yes it's so good!! we need more movies that aren't scared to let themselves have awkward moments! especially in coming of age movies!!
@@Bamboot08 what exactly do you not like about the film?
@@TheMoonIsFrosted There’s to many perverted jokes and it is just a really bland story

This movie made my Dad cry because he lost his dad half a year before this movie came out
Onward got me into D&D
Ik we’re talking abt onward, a movie i have not seen fully (only watched like 15-20min), but saying the turning red is bad is so sad to me like it was a rlly good movie i don’t understand why ppl don’t like it :(
It's nice to see some love for Onward, it was a great movie.
I agree with you man. Onward is very underrated. It is such a shame that it released when the quarantine started.
I remember watching it in cinemas before COVID
I grew up as a father figure for my younger brother. I watched this on my birthday a few days before lockdown and ended up crying the whole time.
I watched and genuinely liked it, I can’t remember much but it shows how many people are willing to go so far to see a loved one again and do outrageous things and stuff they thought they’d never do. All of that under the cover of 2 boys wanting to see their Dad again

It’s just not that great but it’s cool if you like it
Thank you. I forgot about that movie and now I’m going to watch it.
Its one of the few movies with a happy but bitter ending that I actually liked. It made completely sense for the movie to end the way it did and it was really good.
Omg i remember watching this movie with my aunt when it came put in theaters!!!

I remember going to see this movie with my sister, going out to dinner and all around, having a great time. Then the best day, I got an email from my school saying that we all had to go home for 2 weeks.
Pov Pixar animated your dnd campaign
As someone who used this movie for both entertainment and for book ideas regarding modern fantasy, it is an excellent movie.
Yeah I loved this movie I love Fantasy, especially when it’s in a modern sort of setting such as Onward, or Dimension 20’s Fantasy High
Onward is unbelievably underrated and it needs more love ❤
This movie was ABSOLUTELY amazing! How did people hate this?!
When I first watched this movie I thought it was really good so I was really surprised when everyone thought it wasn’t very good.
This was my favorite movie for a while it hits really HARD
I watched it when it first came to Disney + and loved it. It’s like in the same quality area as inside out
Thank you for recognizing this underrated movie.
1000%! An absolutely fabulous movie that went unnoticed…
I fully agree, this movie was great. It's one of my top pixar movies

Saw this the day before my country locked down completely. Turned out my dad wanted to give us one more normal day for a while 😭❤️
I literally watched this movie in theaters the day before lockdown
It's great and something good to watch during lock down
This movie is such a masterpiece

I really liked Onward more than I was expecting it truly is underrated
It also probably made people more depressed because they were allowed to go out in the movie but not not us
This movie gets me in tears every time
Video suggestion: What is your favorite Pixar movie?
I cried during this movie
...
In the theater
I AM OBSESSED WITH ONWARD BRO
Video idea:Ratting chips into separate shorts
EXACTLY! IVE SEEN IT AND IT'S SUCH A GOOD MOVIE!
Also, nobody talks about how Tom Holland's character just looks like him and I think that's hilarious
This is an amazing movie, and i will stand by that
, I watched this movie three times and I just love it so much but it was hold back because it was made in 2020. I wanted to watch it more in theaters but COVID-19
I totally agree with you. I love that movie.❤
Small cheeto,
*BIG CHEETO RAFT*
I actually had onward as my favourite movie for a while
My sister hyperfixated on this. I watched it ona constant loop for the entirety of lockdown.
I loved Onward I still laugh and cry at the same time in that van scene.
Guenivere…😭🤣
"pixars bext hit you in the feels moment"
Up?
Onward actually was just a really good movie
I adore onward it's so underrated
THANK YOU
There are also so many Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, and Dungeons and Dragons references in the movies, and as a complete nerd, I loved Onward.
"I consider this pixar's last good movie"
Meanwhile Elemental: 😢
Elemental isn’t as bad as everyone says but it isn’t exactly a good movie either
@@FederalBureauOfInvestigation12 ok, but about Luca, that's a great movie, isn't it
@@SamueleCannella-tm7je Yeah

I sure inside out 2 will probably be one of the few good sequels from Disney/Pixar

Onword reminds me of a demension 20 season
This is real. It's a very very good movie, good to know somebody else knows that
My mum wouldn’t let us watch it cus it came out not long after my dad died and I forgot about it till now
So many films are so underrated, all bc of a stupid lockdown
Yeah when my family watched it, it buffered so much that it took 3 hours instead of like 1:10

FINALLY A PERSON WHO ALSO LIKES ONWARD
Onward (like any GOOD Pixar movie) made me cry. Inside Out? Cry. Toy story? Cry.
this is my favorite movie omg
Do back in black pls
I’d like to also add in another reason: the character designs. Please talk next about treasure planet
My mom cried during this movie
real tho, I watched this movie and its really cute and nice yo watch, I wish it was remembered a little more :[
It's sorta fits in like Treasure planet for me. It just didn't get its fair chance, but it's a great movie
So then what happened to Strange World? Why did it flop when it had gorgeously done animation, vibrant color palettes, and a lovely storyline?
disney simply didn't give a shit
didn't even attempt to market it
I loved that movie
I completely agree is so good
THE NEW MAT PAT RIGJT HERE
i liked turning red! it was beautifully done and talked about real life problems for girls
