Sisi jemima see what ure dishing us in this corona season
We will grow fat at home o
Sis Jemimah you got my mouth all
. Hmmm! Soooo inviting. My only query is why cut your veggie b4 washing? A lot of nutrients and all get lost in the process. I always wash my veggies before cutting for the aforementioned reason. Just my take. On the overall, very nice video.
Sisi Jemimah, e ma pa wa now
Thanks for your recipe and very clear demonstration 😊 I tried it and it was amazing. Don't stop what you do love
You are d best .. I tried ur recipe today and my husband has just been shouting..love u loads
Love ur recipes hun
hi, I am Haitian i am learning how to cook for my Nigerian Husband. I would like to know if there is another name fro shoko leaves and will i find it in US groceries stores. I love Efo its my favorite.
Yes it’s the same as callaloo
You can also use spinach
@@kayd.1755 callaloo is tete, not soko. Soko is lagos spinach and i have never seen it in the US
You can cook it with spinach leaves. Spinach is the closest thing to shoko leaves. Sometimes I use kale, but because kale is so crunchy , rather than washing in hot water, I soak in hot water for about 5 mins to soften it before adding it to the stew mix
From Wikipedia with love 😁😁😁
Celosia argentea var. argentea or Lagos spinach (a.k.a. quail grass, soko, celosia, feather cockscomb) is a broadleaf annual leaf vegetable. It grows widespread across Mexico, where it is known as "velvet flower", northern South America, tropical Africa, the West Indies, South, East and Southeast Asia where it is grown as a native or naturalized wildflower, and is cultivated as a nutritious leafy green vegetable. It is traditional fare in the countries of Central and West Africa, and is one of the leading leafy green vegetables in Nigeria, where it is known as ‘soko yokoto’, meaning "make husbands fat and happy".[5] In Spain it is known as "Rooster comb" because of its appearance.[citation needed]
Thank you so much for this video. I made it and it came out perfectly well. 🥰and
Wow. That looks really good
This looks amazing 😍😍😍😍 I was just looking for a recipe for this ☺️
very helpful tip I will try this thanks.
Weldone my lady. U are great at this ...👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The Efo is overshadowed by the all that meat. Can’t really eat it with a side (Iyan, Eba etc) but I’ll probably eat it on it’s own it does looks good 🤤🤤🤤
I tryed making it, in ur way and. It came out nice, thank you
This is so detailed ... Tnks Jemimah
This is very good. But I think d meats have over shadowed the vegetable. I prefer mine to be more of d vegetable n to be a little more watery.
Efo riro is not meant to be watery. It's a tad bit like EdikangIkong.
Not really watery like that, but it's okay. It's an individual thing. I love yur cookings though.
Yes you're right, should not be watery but at the same time not to stocked up with meat. But it's nice though.
Motunrayo Omotosho you’re right it’s too much meat and I don’t see how one can eat it with the side of Amala, Iyan, Eba etc🤷🏿♀️ I’m not gonna lie it looks good tho and I’ll probably eat it by itself 😂🤤
Nice one am gonna try it
So lovely
Hay God ooooooooooo... 😋😋😋
I really love d way u prepare it, love u guy
Delicious👏👏👏you're a wonderful cook👌👌👌👌

Hello Sisi Jemimah, Please where do you get your meat and seasoning leaves (thyme, rosemary) from?
Pls what is shoko leave,

Sorry can you use water leave and ugu together
Water leaves may be too watery..
Imagine me getting married to a non Nigerian and he be like : I'll love to see you cook your Nigerian meals for me.
Me: 😶😶😳.
I literally cannot cook anything.
Can I use spinach & ugu as against shoko
Yes, you can
..
Can I use vegetable oil?
This Looks Delicious.
Just one thing I don’t get is why does Nigerians calls this soup when it clearly looks like a stew to me and also the base of the preparation of it you use oil.
Here in the United Kingdom a soup is always liquid and light. Even the canned soup you buy from the supermarket have liquidity in it and light e.g chicken soup and vegetable soup
You guys have got everyone confused by calling a stew soup.
That’s not a soup but rather a stew.
I get you but unfortunately, the choice of name is deeply rooted in our culture, too late to make changes to it now.
Sisi Jemimah's Recipes Thanks for clearing up my misconceptions.
You are a great cook and may the Good Lord continue to bless you and your family.
Is the pepper not too much?
🍽🍽🍽🍴🍽🍽👅👅👅👅👅 hope it still remained
Can I add tomato
Tomato can make the vegetable more watery, I wouldn’t add more than 1
Pls can this be eaten with white rice?
Why not, the combination is tantalizing
Jemimah ma pa ni now
Nice one but the vegetable is not washed in hot water and it looks too small for the pepper
What is shoko plant? Is it spinach I'm not Nigerian ooo
Lmfaooo I’m Nigerian and I don’t even know what that is(I moved to the U.S when I was twelve I probably forgot all the names😅) it does looks like spinach
I want to marry the cook
What is shoko
Meat soup
Since when Africans in Africa use Rosemary and Curry leaves to cook??? This is Authentic cause some ingredients arent African ingredients they use to cook.
This soup has 10 èmi😅😅
Nice though, but timing is fk long hunger go don kill person.
Too much meat. Its like designer stew with vegetable.
Too much meat less vegetables.
Pls next time make it equal so that one can enjoy it better..
Anyways welldone
Cook it d way u want it, it's all about preference
Can I use vegetable oil?
