Finally a video about my favorite material in perfurmery. Lab resin/absolute is in itself a complete perfume. I have diluted in 10% alcohol and one spray when going to bed or to pray is enough magic for the day. Lovely stuff

Great list man. I absolutely love Chanel Lelion. I went through 2 decants but really don't know if I can bring myself to spend that kind of money on a designer. I think laudano Nero is a good labdanum also and very affordable

A bit off topic. Standing in front of my perfume wardrobe, looked at my vintage collection, sighed and said thanks Ram, picked a bottle smelled it and got knocked the fuck out, but in a good way. I immediately had the urge to write the Ram.
The bottle in question is Givenchy Gentleman in original formulation, a '74 bottle. This perfume takes me somewhere blissful. Goosebumps. It's meditative.
I had Gentleman as a youngster in the mid 80s, it didn't smell this great. Or may it did. I don't know, all I know is I'm somewhere beautiful right now.
Maybe you just didn't appreciate it as a youngster... the years add gratefulness 🙏🙏🙏

Almost three hours! How does he do it! Timely too- my sotd happened to be very labdanum forward; Perfumer H. Smoke (not a lot of US distribution at the moment, but it’s Lyn Harris’ brand).
I have been wanting to smell those forever... I hear they are very solid 💪🐏
Ram, just a thought... Since we use these as encyclopedic research entries in the future, perhaps write out the top hundred or so instead of the bottom hundred in the description?
I can still change it if folks think it's a good idea 💡
P.S. while watching your channel, I have randomly sprayed different fragrances on myself, and instead of smelling weird, it seems like whatever I sprayed all meshed together in a good way. I do that now and then and it seems to work for me more positively than negatively. Again, thanks for keeping my Saturday very fragrant.

Labdanum the Goat

Have you smelled Stephane Humbert Lucas O’Hira? People say that scent is almost a straight up Labdanum soliflore. There is Styrax, Tolu Balsam, and cinnamon highlights for sure. I’ve only ever sampled, but Labdanum is definitely the biggest player by far in that scent. Very sticky and almost molasses feeling fragrance.

Recently, I got a bottle of ELDO Attaquer le Soleil. I tried it for the first time this week and I like it a lot. Within the first half hour of my first wearing of it, it seemed familiar to me. I knew it was similar to an Amouage, and then I realized it is similar to Fate Man. At least most people who have reviewed Attaquer le Soleil have not acknowledged its similarity with Fate Man. Attaquer le Soleil causes me to realize that Fate Man must be a labdanum-prominent fragrance. I plan to watch the entirety of this video, but is either Attaquer le Soleil or Fate Man mentioned in it? Also, I hope you get to review Attaquer le Soleil some day. I know I like it, but I'd like to see what you think of it.

@@sharfalor4244 I plan to get a lot use out of my bottle of Attaquer le Soleil because I truly enjoyed it when I wore it. I believe I prefer Attaquer le Soleil over Fate Man, but I can like both of them.
If you want to smell an assortment of some Potent Labdanum ,if you are ever in Brooklyn hit up the Middle Eastern stores on Atlantic av and that general area; the Attars there are spectacular !!!!

I have never come across one that smells like Balenciaga PH it is unique
However late into the dry down there is a fragrance called Aubusson homme which 3 or 4 hours in starts the resemble Balenciaga PH
But honestly if you want Balenciaga PH you should just buy Balenciaga PH

@@RamseytheRamno idea, on my phone (Rog phone 5 with dual front facing speakers) it does register in both channels. On my desktop I only get the left channel. So I think it's a RUclips problem?
@@RamseytheRamoh and why I'm saying profumum, they do not list it but I feel that a lot of their amber scents have labdanum. But hard to be sure of course. I have ordered 10 samples to get a better feel for the house. And will choose a summer scent from them. Also nice that the house sends a decant and syringe (something like it) with the bottle. Anyway great video as always!
