    The alternating trigger trick is something I hadn't thought of - but makes immediate sense. Thanks!

    2:00 Thank you SO MUCH for pointing this out. The SDS is new to me, and I've been yanking out my hair trying to figure that out. Whatever higher power you believe in, I hope it makes your 2022 amazing. LOL

    Thanks for the calibration setup, I stumbled on your video because I was trying to setup a Siglent 1104x to make sure everything was good for measuring the primary and reflected waves of a 10' length of copper pipe, to determine the velocity factor. Theoretically, that length is about 1/4 wave at around 24MHz and I thought I would be able to see a smaller reduction in peak to peak voltage when I was on the money, and a reflected wave when I was not. Anyway, I didn't see either, so maybe no matter what frequency I try between 19MHz - 30MHz...

    You should also go into the channel setting and set the probe for 10 there before compensating the probes capacitor!

      @@KissAnalog I took a tour of the maker space I'm do acting the stuff to. They have enough bench gear that made me blush haha. None of it has ever been used and was coated with dust. I'm going to organize the area with the ton of stuff I'm giving along with what's there. Them I'm going to work out lesson plans have working circuits on display and breath some life into the little corner of a giant incredible space with every piece of gear to make anything you can think of. The manager was given a blank cheque by the provincial power utility and he just went mad haha. Everything there is being used except the 25k worth of lab gear.
      I'm going to teach a robotics course to teens that involves teaching python, developing a machine learning software base using opencv and most importantly teaching power delivery, amplification and ttl logic theory. I'm into a lot of different ee stuff and will use some of your videos to teach spice. It was the best day I've had in a long time. 2.5 years of doing circuits, coding, building shit might help some teenagers become what I'm not. I've wanted to do some good for a while Eddie and it's why I don't have high end lab gear because I spent half my money on buying ee and compsci learning stuff to donate. Sorry for rambling but I had to tell someone.

    Hi, By looking at the rise time of the signal it seems that it's over 5µs.It's quite long!
    Does it come from the test probe signal that have a low slew rate or long rise time or it comes from the scope that can't read fast square wave signals. 200Mhz scope can read as low as 2µs slope if I'm not mistaken.
    Thanks a lot

    • @KissAnalog

      Levisgil47 Great eye, and great question. The probe and scope can capture rise times much quicker. My guess is that it is to make the compensation easier as it comes from the compensation output of the scope. I’ll have to ask Siglent why that is. I’ll show a quick video on capturing the rise time of my arb generator. I have some new low cost probes that are quite nice that I ca review with this demonstration. Thanks for the great question!

    Do I understand correctly that even if I only have X1 probes, I shall still set the scope to X10 to adjust for errors or does X1 not need any compensation?

    • @KissAnalog
      @KissAnalog  5 лет назад

      Fried Mule There is no compensation for x1, so if they don’t have the switch option to x10, then there is no compensation.

      @@volodymyrzakolodyazhny7740 There are some situations where X1 is the only right tool, but yes normally is an X10 the most all round:-)
