What myself being eastern european has somthing to do with the fact that she can't hit notes. read every ESC review about performers and every expert says the same. BTW, I'll be voting for my neighbour eastern european country Belgium. Good luck in life with your prejudices and wash your ears time from time.
Brynjar Reynisson i am sure many of eastern europeans voted for her... her voice is good but the song wasn't good enough to qualify...:) don't blame your fellow europeans from the eastern part
Adrien Van Rechem Yeah, it was a good song but nerves took over. I watched the final of the Icelandic national selection and she sounded nervous on that too, so I guess it was to be expected.
She has sang every performance of this song perfectly! WHAT HAPPENED!! She was very nervous here. So sad she didn't qualify but with a performance like that I can understand. It's so crazy what nerves can do. Anyway she has all my support and I will keep listening to her
She was so shaky/nevrous, i knew she was a very shy girl. But damn... i didn't expect her to be that nervous, i mean listen to her voice at the begin, and at 0:29 her hand is so shaky
I am soooooooooo surprised she did not get through to the final i thought she could win this thing and i'm not even from iceland this is probably my favorite song right now!!!!!
People saying that she was out of tune... WTF!? I don't think so. Some people is mad!. Iceland deserved to be in the Grand Final, like Malta, but something told me that they'll be underrated and that's real now. :/ I'm so glad to see Hera Björk there! I love that woman ♥ Well done Maria, well done Iceland! :3
It's a big song, such a shame for Maria that she didn't get through but she looked a bit overwhelmed by it all. Never mind, it's not the end of the world and whatever happens I still think Iceland had one of the best songs this year.
I am Greek but even though both Greece and Cyprus are in the final, I feel sad about all the non-qualifiers from both Semi-Final 1 and Semi-Final 2. Literally, EVERY SINGLE ONE of them diserved the final ... too bad some had to be left behind ... I'll keep listening to this song (and all the others) for my entire life ... well done Maria, great performance; sadly your Eurovision journey ended here.
To be honest, I'm not surprised that she didn't qualify. I'm not saying that this song is bad, because I don't think it is, but I believe the song would have received more votes if she had chosen to sing the Icelandic version instead. The English version is trash compared to it
***** I feel angry. You should shut that mouth of yours. Now you spoil much of the fun that I get when I play this movie. And I used to do it many times, because of this blending. This stage, this girl´s movements, her smile. But now, I know that the Icelandic version has tons of times the emotion that I find here.
I think it's kinda unfair to say she sang badly. She was shaky in the beginning and the lower register of her voice really showed how nervous she was but she nailed everything else. Not a single bad high note. I think she did really good, and made Iceland proud, even though she didn't qualify.
This is my absoloute favourites of this year, I'm devastated it didn't make the Grand Final. Everything about it was absolutely perfect for me... And what's more it even featured the Northern Lights in the background.. (Something I dream of seeing one day). I think the nerves got the better of her tonight, she is usually much better. I'm solo sad for Iceland, I thought this would qualify and they would do very well with this. Whatever happens on Saturdaya Grand Final now, 'Unbroken' will be my winner of Eurovision 2015. Amazing song, lyrics, artist, staging! :')
The outfit matches really good with her cute dance. I love to hear she singing this song. Love her smile, and the way she fills up that beautifull and inspiring stage. For me, she is the winner. I´m from Portugal and I´m surpassed by this performance. My country decided to go with a sad song. But this girl brings a positive message that shared with us with tons of emotion. Iceland achieve a new importance for me after this.
Great song! Shame it didn't qualify. The nerves clearly affected her voice and performance at the beginning but she grew in confidence as the song went on. Maybe next year Iceland.
You people need to learn to criticize without talking bad stuff about other countries. They all put the same amount of effort into the contest, but not everyone can get in the final..And María's voice was so shaky,u couldn't expect it to get in the finals after this performance
I'm gutted this song didn't get through. I've been playing it at home and in my car for months - I love it!! I feel really sorry for Maria, you can tell she was extremely nervous - which undoubtedly affected her singing. Poor girl was shaking like a leaf :( There are videos on RUclips of her singing it live in Iceland, and she's amazing. It's a shame, but that's Showbusiness I guess :(
Matthew Payne i know.. i also listend to the song for some weeks now. i really fell in love with it and i only watched the contest yesterday to see her live.. the first second i heard her i was like 'woooow shes nervous.' and she was shaking soo bad. and it didnt even stop somewhere. i was really dissapointed :/ i really felt sorry for her. if i would have stand on that stage with such an huge audience i would DIE up there omg.
I was very surprised to her that she didn't make it to the finals! I loved that song and her performance! The stage design associating with Iceland's nature was just beautiful and magical. Lots of Love from VIENNA :))
I liked the song a lot... but that singing was the worst of this evening im afraid... also WHERE were the background dancers? She looked beautiful though. At least now she can have a swim in the hot waters back in iceland. im so envious :)
This was my favourite song at Eurovision Song Contest this year, but it didnt get past the Semi Finals. She is the Fairy girl from Iceland with a really great catchy song and stage visuals and costume. so ive no idea how this got overlooked when so much rubbish got through. Iceland always have good songs and this was no exception. #eurovision #iceland #mariaolafs #unbroken
She has just recently talked about what happened here.. she was so nervous that she said she felt like she was being held at gunpoint. She did a lot of therapy after this :(
To people that complain about the fact that she didn't pass: You guys had to vote instead of whining about how much unfair that was. If you don't vote the songs that you want to pass then why do you complain?
KlaineAnimals but if people had truly voted then it would be possible to pass even with the jury however, televoting didn't give her points unfortunately so they can't complain, it was not unfair, it would be if Iceland had finished like, 4th in the televoting but 11th with the juries.
Iceland was one of my favourites going in to this, but it was so obvious how nervous she was. Hitting the high notes, she was on the line of hitting it and going off so much
Look how cute, shes so nervous her hands are shaking. I would be hell of nervous as well if i would be there on this stage infront of million viewers in over 40 Countries. Hope she gets to final!
Denmark and Iceland share record, that as a dane I am pretty proud of. Denmark & Iceland are the only 2 nordic countires to make it to the final since the introduction of 2 semifinals in 2008, and then boom #Vienna 2015 no final for both countries# But anyway congratulations to all the qualified countries to the final...
Brynjar Reynisson As someone from eastern Europe, I have to admit it is so pathetic to pull that argument each time a west European country does not make it to the final. Are Norway, Sweden, Belgium, Greece, Israel, and Cyprus east European countries? When was the last time an east European country won Eurovision? In 2011. Before that? In 2008. Stop repeating that - it's just hateful.
Vladimir Prostran there are nine countries from western europe in the finals out of 27 and six of them didnt have to go through to the semifinals. And I know Israel is not from eastern europe it isnt even from europe and neither is australia. So 16 countries from eastern europe
Beautiful girl, beautiful song, beautiful performance. I hope she will come back to Eurovision in a couple of years and I am sure she will get a better result then :-)
NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, I still can't believe how Iceland did not pass? what the fucking hell :( this was going to be the first ESC when my top 5 were going to be in the final :( now just 4 :(((((
Tomás Alcorta Nerves, She is far better singer than what she displayed here. Her nerves let her down this evening unfortunately. She is experienced but Eurovision is a big stage and it got the better of her.
Tomás Alcorta Didn't make it. (Walk Along) She was robbed too. I knew deceptions for me were coming this Esc, underrated songs or just sooo over rated ones are killing it :C
Tomás Alcorta Didn't make it. (Walk Along) She was robbed too. I knew deceptions for me were coming this Esc, underrated songs or just sooo over rated ones are killing it :C
Nooo Iceland... Our best friend.. I'm so sorry you didn't qualify. We will always love you the most. Even more than Sweden, Norway and Finland. Next year we will go through to the final together. Your Sincerly Denmark.
I know that she had a few shaky moments vocally, probably because of nerves, but I still think Iceland deserved a place in the Grand Final. It goes to show that if your vocals aren't up to scratch, even if it's down to nerves, then it makes qualifying for the final so much harder.
I feel so sorry for her :( She's such a great singer, and the song is just fantastic, but I guess because she was nervous, her vocals were quite shaky and that was the reason why she didn't qualify. Still, I love it and it should have made it to the final! Well done Maria
I was rooting for her because I really fell in love with her song (both the Icelandic and the English versions). But sadly, the performance wasn't well executed last night. Nerves, perhaps? Don't worry Iceland, you'll have your day. Tek lítil skref. Sending love from the Philippines
I love this song and general I m Icelandic fan :) . ESC had finish ! Best of Luck to Iceland and Icelandic song in 2016 !!! Love and many kisses from Cyprus !!! x x x x
Nobody knew at that time, but she is the first in line to rule the kingdom of Iceland, that is why she had to always wear the crown of "life and love". she is the daughter of Olaf the holy one, according to Icelandic law she shall be our Queen when she comes of age.
I didn't realize that she was nervous, maybe a little in the voice at first but I hear that before (Even in Loreen's performance), her moves are great and she never lose her smile, she deserved more. Mans Zelmerlow just used 3d, he had a lot of help so he did not have to do much. Don't be so rude I was more nervous at the college graduation ceremony.
Feel very bad for this usually good singer, voted for her to give her a 2nd chance in the final. It must be sooo hard to control your nerves on such a big stage when you're so young :( Hope we see more of her in the future, from Australia :)
photonspark Yes this was unfortunate for us. María is wonderfully talented and has shown that time and time again. But! as you said. This is a huge stage with massive audience and she got a little scared and you could tell it in her vocals.
***** The most difficult song this year is that of Elnur. After that, Albania and Spain follow. Italy's song is hard, too, but don't forget there are 3 of them, while singing alone (I don't count the backing vocals) makes the song harder, as there is no distribution. Think of Israel. The kid was nearly non-stop singing. Even for an "easier" song, 3 mins without pausing is hard. While Il Volo take turns.
She sounded a little nervous, but I wanted her at the final...so sad.
Felipe Welchz She was "nerovus" in selections too. She is bad singer.
Baton really? I didn't see her in selections...then she's in the right place. And tell me, why nerovus instead nervous? Haha.
***** she was my 10th favorite, but I have to be honest, this semi finale was really good.
Felipe Welchz i thougt she was sick so her voice was like that
Felipe Welchz agree
the poor girl was just too nervous & inexperienced for the Eurovision stage :( i really wanted her to go through, as she sang the chorus well tbh!
same here
no🖤
This song is way better than the BDShaMe from 2019...
She was one of the best.
1. I'm Spanish
2. I'm very angry
3. I love this song
4. I'm so sorry
Europe, what were you thinking?
Verónica G Malta and Iceland the best songs and I'm very angry too
Mery Doyle I am not sure about best songs, but the worst singing definitely. They both missed half of notes.
outlaw96 why do you think her singing was bad she was very good and should have gone through. Fucking eastern europeans
What myself being eastern european has somthing to do with the fact that she can't hit notes. read every ESC review about performers and every expert says the same. BTW, I'll be voting for my neighbour eastern european country Belgium. Good luck in life with your prejudices and wash your ears time from time.
Brynjar Reynisson i am sure many of eastern europeans voted for her... her voice is good but the song wasn't good enough to qualify...:) don't blame your fellow europeans from the eastern part
you could tell she was nervous. but she belongs in the final :(
Freyja F So true !!
Adrien Van Rechem Yeah, it was a good song but nerves took over. I watched the final of the Icelandic national selection and she sounded nervous on that too, so I guess it was to be expected.
Oh yes...the song is very very good...just her shaky voice...she can sing the song very good, i know it!
+mr J No, she didn't deserve the final at this moment.
She was too nervous, out of tune...
mr J Of course she does!
I feel like Iceland only has 6 singers and they change position every year.
Kian AHAHHAHA Epic!
hahaha well it´s a small country so it makes sense
lol
Hera Björk at the back vocals almost every year
@@shrexxxx Is she paid for that?
She's 22 but they made her look 12.
I thought she were 16 xD
True!
That's why she had the code 12 😆😂
22??? I would guess she was 16, the minimum age for singing in Eurovision.
Drake can’t see her. Neither can Ava ChrisTyson
Poor girl. Malta and Iceland should be in final!!!
GirlRyLa you poor)
I agree! I was surprised when Malta didn't qualify!!
She has sang every performance of this song perfectly! WHAT HAPPENED!! She was very nervous here. So sad she didn't qualify but with a performance like that I can understand. It's so crazy what nerves can do. Anyway she has all my support and I will keep listening to her
She really struggled on that stage.. Poor girl, her song was one of my favourites tbh
This song will forever be in my heart. Go Iceland.
She was so shaky/nevrous, i knew she was a very shy girl.
But damn... i didn't expect her to be that nervous, i mean listen to her voice at the begin, and at 0:29 her hand is so shaky
ClassicProGamers omg poor girl.....
ClassicProGamers Studio version sounds so great
duhul lampii Yep.
Paul Filip Yeah she just couldn't sing good, cuz she was to nervous.
ClassicProGamers Yep! Pobreciiiiita.....
I am soooooooooo surprised she did not get through to the final i thought she could win this thing
and i'm not even from iceland
this is probably my favorite song right now!!!!!
poor girl was so nervous sadly! though the song does sadly remind me of a junior esc song rather than an adult esc one..
Despite being a talented grown-ass woman, all this ended up screaming JUNIOR Eurovision.
omg you're right
Is that Hera Björk from 2010 as background singer?
Oh yeah I remember.
and in 2008 :)
She goes every year
En el 2009 también :)
and from 2024 too
People saying that she was out of tune... WTF!? I don't think so. Some people is mad!.
Iceland deserved to be in the Grand Final, like Malta, but something told me that they'll be underrated and that's real now. :/
I'm so glad to see Hera Björk there! I love that woman ♥
Well done Maria, well done Iceland! :3
EduGreek Yeah im so sad they didn't get a spot in the finals, but its true though... Maria was a bit out of tune, she was just very nervous.
The princess of Eurovision this year.
I really love the song !!! I voted for you.
You deserved the Grand Final.
Always in my heart !
From Belgium
Seriously, SERİOUSLY? How da hell did this song not make the final?!?

I’m still coming back to this performance. I love it ❤️
I still love this song
I still love this ❤
María needs to come back! Her voice is so beautiful
Why????? Such an amazing song why people you didnt voted for her??? How Cyprus and Macedonia made over this amazing song???? 😨😨😨😨😥😥😥😥😵crying
Macedonia didn't make it.
I think u meant Montenegro
Luksas2545 macedonia didnt qualify but if you talking about them macedonia should have qualify....
You people need to learn to criticize without talking bad stuff about other countries. They all put the same amount of effort into the contest, but not everyone can get in the final..And María's voice was so shaky,u couldn't expect it to get in the finals after this performance
Foxreyna But remember Albania was in weak SF 1!
Hope she will go to the final! Nice song! Greetings from Bosnia and Herzegovina!

BEST eurovision song ever!! (except rise like a phoenix). love from the UK
The best song in this semifinal
Ég elska þig!!
I'm crying right now😭
But I still love her ❤️
Cupcake lover She will stay in my heart ! Love her
It's 2018 and I'm still listen to this song. I love it and I can't understand that it was not at the grand final! It's sad 💕
I was very surprised to her that she didn't make it to the finals! I loved that song and her performance! The stage design associating with Iceland's nature was just beautiful and magical. Lots of Love from VIENNA :))
No matter what she should be so proud of herself. Nerves can't be helped.
I liked the song a lot... but that singing was the worst of this evening im afraid... also WHERE were the background dancers? She looked beautiful though. At least now she can have a swim in the hot waters back in iceland. im so envious :)
Loaf Of Bread - The Original look at her shivering hands! No wonder that she couldn't sing like in MV.
DMTHOTH aw, i didnt notice, bless her :(
If you want to hear bad singing listen to latvia or san marino
Brynjar Reynisson or Poland, is nobody going to mention how bad Monyka was live?? Maria and her were the weakest of the night by far
DMTHOTH I noticed that too, I was feeling so bad for her, poor thing, I liked her song
Literally the strongest song this year!
How??? How??? How??? How didn't she come to the final??? Very very very sad for her(((
Eurovision Fan Me too, I still can't believe it
Same this eurovision throw some of the better songs to the basket... But with much bad song are easy to win.
GO SPAIN
Eurovision Fan Ehm, because she sang off key the whole song.
***** She must have done a better job the night before, when the jury voted, I guess.
Eurovision Fan
She should learn to sing first
This was my favourite song at Eurovision Song Contest this year, but it didnt get past the Semi Finals. She is the Fairy girl from Iceland with a really great catchy song and stage visuals and costume. so ive no idea how this got overlooked when so much rubbish got through. Iceland always have good songs and this was no exception. #eurovision #iceland #mariaolafs #unbroken
Still one of my favourite songs that year, wish it had made the final
She has just recently talked about what happened here.. she was so nervous that she said she felt like she was being held at gunpoint. She did a lot of therapy after this :(
I was 100% sure she was going to be in the finals. I'm so sorry Maria. Hope, at least she had a good time on the stage! She was on my personal top 10
Sorry Iceland, you were my 3rd of 40 :\
love from Israel
You've got a new fan, Maria. You'll make it!!!
SHE WAS SO GOOD
Deserved to qualify!!!!!
To people that complain about the fact that she didn't pass: You guys had to vote instead of whining about how much unfair that was. If you don't vote the songs that you want to pass then why do you complain?
1 vote changes nothing
Indeed but if all the people that complained voted then it would change
KlaineAnimals but if people had truly voted then it would be possible to pass even with the jury however, televoting didn't give her points unfortunately so they can't complain, it was not unfair, it would be if Iceland had finished like, 4th in the televoting but 11th with the juries.
Yep, but what if this song was my number two, and as I am from France, I couldn't vote for her in the second semi? Otherwise I would've done it.
Iceland was one of my favourites going in to this, but it was so obvious how nervous she was. Hitting the high notes, she was on the line of hitting it and going off so much
I think Hera Björk that represented Iceland 2010 with the awesome song Je Ne Sais Quoi is standing in the middle of the back singers!
0:47
Hope to see her in the future! I REALLY want her to be in the finals.
It was my favourite song of that competition too & I was sad that Maria didn’t make the final
Criminally underrated . And a very beautiful girl. ❤️
Look how cute, shes so nervous her hands are shaking. I would be hell of nervous as well if i would be there on this stage infront of million viewers in over 40 Countries. Hope she gets to final!

The true winner.....
Awesome Song and performance.
But Iceland was robbed...
Amazing song and girl! Israel and Azerbaijan qualified but Iceland not. :/
Sora Cookie like always
I hope you are joking
She was so cute and totally deserved a place in the finals!
Iceland and Spain were criminally underrated this year
Beautiful girl, beautiful song, beautiful performance. I hope she will come back to Eurovision in a couple of years and I am sure she will get a better result then :-)
Still one of my favourite entries of all time!
The best song of the Eurovision!☝😍
NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, I still can't believe how Iceland did not pass? what the fucking hell :( this was going to be the first ESC when my top 5 were going to be in the final :( now just 4 :(((((
Why why why why why did she sing that bad? :( I wanted her to pass.
Tomás Alcorta Nerves, She is far better singer than what she displayed here. Her nerves let her down this evening unfortunately. She is experienced but Eurovision is a big stage and it got the better of her.
Was that a referance to walk along?
Colin Prijn hahah yes.
Really nervous but it was better than some other songs... And the staging was really nice! I'm so sorry it didn't make it!😓
The legend says that she didn´t qualify beause she blinded the camera.
Cada día me doy cuenta de que me gusta más Islandia XD EPIC osease, me ha encantado la cancion, Ha sido como BUA Chute de adrenalina XD

Nooo Iceland... Our best friend.. I'm so sorry you didn't qualify. We will always love you the most. Even more than Sweden, Norway and Finland. Next year we will go through to the final together. Your Sincerly Denmark.
Beautiful song - I would’ve loved to see her in the grand final 😞
I know that she had a few shaky moments vocally, probably because of nerves, but I still think Iceland deserved a place in the Grand Final. It goes to show that if your vocals aren't up to scratch, even if it's down to nerves, then it makes qualifying for the final so much harder.

This is still amazing no matter what the judges said
Great song, thank you Maria, i am lucky hear this song again and again... :*
The best this year, I can't vote for her as I live in Spain but if she gets to the final I'll vote for her!!!
At least she had one of the most gorgeous LED projections and light effects.
I've got goosebumps... just a eonderful tune. beautiful voice, i loved a refrain :)
She was lovely and although nervous she did an amazing job. Sad Iceland did not make it through. Lovely song.
I spotted Hera Björk among the singing people in black!
Hera Björk is one of the Backing vocalists!!! **O** (Iceland 2010)
Queen
I was rooting for her because I really fell in love with her song (both the Icelandic and the English versions). But sadly, the performance wasn't well executed last night. Nerves, perhaps? Don't worry Iceland, you'll have your day. Tek lítil skref. Sending love from the Philippines
I love this song and general I m Icelandic fan :) . ESC had finish ! Best of Luck to Iceland and Icelandic song in 2016 !!! Love and many kisses from Cyprus !!! x x x x
Jeez, this is so d*mn underrated!!!!!!!!!
To me, should have been about 3rd in final
+Stefan Etienney Well at least not 3rd but top 10 or 5 for sure
First time Iceland misses the final since 2007. I thought it was cute.
Nobody knew at that time, but she is the first in line to rule the kingdom of Iceland, that is why she had to always wear the crown of "life and love". she is the daughter of Olaf the holy one, according to Icelandic law she shall be our Queen when she comes of age.
This was such a great song :/
Malta nd Iceland should be at the finals,,,they dnt have many neighbours unfortunately
I can't believe she was born in 1993... if I didn't know 16 was the minimum age I would have thought she was 14!
Må;ns is better Than Jamala.
+iLiX Pavlo TV Whats wrong about jamala ¿¿¿
Adem Taha İlikhan i didn't like the Song. Jamala screamed
+Adem Taha İlikhan Please don't bring annoying Jamala here, I'm tired about her. My happiness turn into ashes in my mouth.
+MortenLongbottom Måns is not that annoying
This not qualifying was the biggest injustice of ESC2015 after Italy not winning.
Agree. Can't believe that this come second last :(
malta more deserving final for me 😕
Feel very bad for this usually good singer, voted for her to give her a 2nd chance in the final.
Good song bt, WHY IT'S ALL CHORUS!!!???
Good song, but very badly sung on stage. Sorry!
true
Justus Hallovic so was Albania and they are at the finals...
Alex Husser Díaz Comparing the difficulty of Albania's song with the difficulty of this song is like comparing calculus with 2nd grade maths.
Justus Hallovic Is this a singing contest now?
***** The most difficult song this year is that of Elnur. After that, Albania and Spain follow. Italy's song is hard, too, but don't forget there are 3 of them, while singing alone (I don't count the backing vocals) makes the song harder, as there is no distribution. Think of Israel. The kid was nearly non-stop singing. Even for an "easier" song, 3 mins without pausing is hard. While Il Volo take turns.
I really liked this song very sad that she didn't go to the final
Hera Björk is there!! She is the boss of Icelandic pop!!!
She may not have been in tune but I enjoyed her performance more than most other countries (I've seen only the second semi-final).
