    Just purchased an Audi A5 Sportback and remote start is just something I "assumed" it had. Coming from a BMW, it had this feature, along with pre-climatization, etc. I will definitely be going back to BMW after I sell it. Audi's are beautiful cars, but lack simplicity with app integration. Apple CarPlay keeps disconnecting, garage door doesn't always open, Audi Connect doesn't always "connect..." I digress.

    • @vegassmiles

      @@Mike-dd8bd Agree 100%. There were so many features that just came "included" on my BMW. For instance, when my daughter is driving my car, the Audi app will not allow me to check the location until it is parked. Not only could I do this anytime with the BMW app, I could start the car from the app, flash the headlights, honk the horn, etc. Also loved the fact that I had a key card that I could use to start the engine, as well as lock/unlock. Going with an Audi has made me miss the luxuries and comforts of the BMW.

      Kind of ironic coming across this comment. I recently purchased a 2023 Audi RSQ8 with an "ABT" upgrade package. In the same week I picked up a 2023 BMW XM and 2023 BMW 760i xdrive. This is my first Audi. I have learned that Audi is significantly lesser in quality and technology but great at marketing. The RSQ8 is a massive disappointment. It doesn't deliver an even power drive. It feels extremely slow on throttle response. The "Auto Engine" on/off feels violently abrupt in the Audi compared to the BMWs literally unnoticeable on/off transition...and Audi's stupid Auto engine on/off system LOCKS THE DRIVING WHEEL each time...WTF. My Audi infotainment/stereo system disconnects from bluetooth AND WIRED connection, every..single...drive. 100% on every single drive. The Audi app handshake/handoff is extremely unreliable and disconnects repeatedly every single drive. I believe this is due to the excellent looking and abundant usage but radio signal blocking carbon fiber. Dealership says I must be driving through a bad area... every time apparently. Riiiiight. The Heads Up Display in the Audi is 60% smaller and 500% less cooler than the HUD in the BMW's. The HUD in both BMWs animate and have different fonts and graphical elements per each driving mode, like AIRPLANE WINGS for racing mode, the entire car cabin turns red with LEDs and the HUD moves around when you turn. Hans Zimmer designed entry sound for the BMW, which is a loud and clear welcoming sound and the LEDs spill light across the cabin as you enter the vehicle. The entry sound to the Audi is like windows 95 and improperly timed and too quiet. I paid relatively close to the same for the RSQ8 and the BMW XM, but the 760i was significantly less than the ABT RSQ8 and in my opinion the BMW 760i is a massively better (and more luxurious) experience and overall vehicle. Dealership experience was also noticeably different. Audi charged me $500+ for rubber RSQ8 floor mats. When I mentioned I wanted them to BMW, they put them in both vehicles FOR FREE. When I asked Audi for key fob protectors, they said to shop on Amazon. When I inquired to BMW, they provided (real) carbon fiber key fob covers for all 4 keys, for free. When I wanted protective clear wrap in the front on my Audi, they charged me another $8k. When I inquired at BMW, THEY WRAPPED THE FRONT ENDS OF *BOTH* VEHICLES FOR FREE. When I picked up the vehicles they had placed BMW "M" hoodies in each one vehicle and BMW polos in the other vehicle for my entire family. I will NEVER forget this comparison. I will not be purchasing another Audi. BMW has earned my respect and loyalty.

      @@labemolon5739 Agree 💯 Audi’s are beautiful cars, that being said, they lack some basic conveniences and overly complicate others. Since I left my previous comment, I’ve purchased a new BMW i4 and 430i Convertible and haven’t looked back since. The Audi is parked outside my garage and on Turo. Out of 3 months, it’s gone out twice, while the BMW’s stay booked and busy. 😂 I need your hookup for the floor mats, clear wrap and key fobs for real 🤩🙌🏼

    How safe is it to have an extra key in the car? Does that key act as just a receiver? Is it programmed to prevent turning the vehicle on if a normal key isn't nearby? The app you speak of also, does it allow us to control heating by any chance?

    • @j.ballsdeep420
      @j.ballsdeep420 2 года назад

      Laugh, it literally is a key in the car: Unsure if this is accurate but imagining they take the backup key module in front of the armrest and (hopefully) split it to a second unit, then adhere a backup key to it, then program the ecu to turn on the engine with 3 door locks. That said, if it's how it works, anyone could bust your windows and drive off but highly unlikely they'd know the trick to restarting it would be to simply lock the doors 3 times.
