Bought this Guy's first album in 1988 (on cassette) and sang my heart out to it on the way to work each day for months, this was my favourite track. To hear it 30 years later sounding twice as good is testament to the man's talent. Utter class!
I think this guy is a genius, like a fine vintage wine, he has just got better and better over the years. Taken a beautiful song and stripped it back, amazing voice
Don’t need the lottery ticket I seen him do this with Ronnie Scott’s Orchestra at Cheltenham Jazz. Brilliant performance there was tear drops in my eyes.
Mr Stigers, Is The Man, A Vocal Pouring With Soul. . . . . Absolutely Fantastic, Would Give Away a Lung To Have Half His Vocal Ability . . . Thanks For Sharing . . : 0 )
Heard this song for the first time about 20 years ago on a British show - stars in their eyes. This guy came on ans sang this song . I hunted down the song , bought the CD and been a fan since . His voice is like nothing else - simply incredible 🎶🎶🎶
I fell in love with this song when it first came out in the early 90s. I was only in junior high but have always been an old soul when it comes to music. Now, at age 42, I am coming to realize what an incredible talent this man is!
I love the original, it is just perfect in particular the saxophone fills. This compliments and contrasts well, the first few lines are like a tonic taking me back to the 80s. I think he used to have an older mans voice in a young mans body when he did the original, now the two match perfectly.
Good makes a great studio album. Great at least reaches that level in person. This exceeds it. I left similar sentiments on Curstis' VEVO of this song. You may find yourself with tears in your eyes, right about the time you hear those words, but with no idea why. You know this came from Curtis' soul. Crushing and elevating at the same time, it's achingly beautiful. It's one of those songs that, if you wrote it and never another, could validate a career. The saxophone, an instrument lacking in current music, is just the cherry on top. I found this version by a most fortunate accident. Thanks, Curtis!
Always loved Curtis Stigers. Play him on my jazz show in Maine often. Doing a special on him this week and this song is on the list! He has grown so much as a singer and is one fabulous jazz cat!
Ye gads....didn't think the original could get any better but THIS! As previously mentioned, Curtis is like a very fine wine; I'll be coming back here often for more!
l saw Curtis years ago when he was support act to George Benson. What a class act he was.Completely sold on him. Thanks for what was a superb concert complete with George playing his heart out.
Love goes deep in the sole and when you find that special person it don't go away. God gave us the ability to love not fight about the past little things. God bless and thanks for sharing. This is beautiful I love this
I absolutely love Curtis's music he sings with so much passion the words & the music especially when he plays the saxophone I adore him he makes me cry x
We saw him with Ronnie Scott's Big Band last night at Birmingham Town Hall, it was wonderful. He has the most seductive voice & has fantastic presence.
Stigers has clearly cared for his voice over the years. He sings as beautifully now as he did in the past, and not many vocalists can achieve that as they age. Bravo, Curtis!
Such a smoothness to his voice and with the compliment of the saxophone. If I can compare it to food it’s like when you eat a good chocolate. It hits your taste buds with a rich smoothness and makes you instantly feel all good inside.

They still make them, they're just a lot harder to find 😔

This is an awesome rendition. PLUS.. the man is GORGEOUS
