I know that I'll probably be massacred, but ... this remake is totally unnecessary, in my opinion. The guys got the best song of the Obituary (for me, of course), and diminished its weight in several tons. The sound of the guitars was excessively polished, the vocals of John Tardy are no longer like before (though, in this case, no complaints, because it is human biology ... is inevitable), the execution of the riffs and solos (mainly) are different (worse) ... anyway, it is unfortunate that they have done this to such a masterpiece. Even so, the music is so good, that emanates feeling, even in this terrible version.
I agree somewhat. I mean, it's a newer version and that's it. We may like it, we may not. A lot of things are different like the production, for example. It's recorded with the latest technology. I prefer the late '80s / early '90s production. It's warmer. Today's production is just crystal clear and it just doesn't fit Death Metal as much, in my opinion.
