In my opinion, mental health is something that you should deal with in a family setting and if you haven't got supportive or present family then you seek professional help. I don't think it is healthy or productive for us as a collective to pander to every person that says they're depressed or you end up with an ADHD type situation where its an excuse. My kid isn't badly behaved, i'm not a bad parent who sets no boundaries, my child has ADHD. In the same way, let's not lay on our back when life gets tough and cry depression. Deals with your problems and if you're genuinely not coping then seek help.
