This explains why there was no trailer for this event.
Because I did not expect this event to pull the rug from under me and be about the commander and his backstory. I expected this to be another silly "Help the Nikke with her goal" type event. Not the bomb-shell of a reveal that the Commander is basically Captain America, a super soldier from a project. Because I honestly thought that the player is meant to be a regular human, NOT a Missilis experiment.
But this explains why Ether calls me "No 7." Meaning Shift Up was keeping wrote this about him since the start. It's impressive how they have these planned.

but I agree. This event definitely made my eyes go wide as I played, im glad this event finally does give us some lore on Commander. Especially since the game started to treat him as an ACTUAL character instead of a usual player insert. I am eager to see the hard mode ending this week.

One of Ether's Bond level up voice line is "No. 7, you can never ever leave me. Got it?". I got that line today which now after finishing normal brings it into question.

feel like Syuen has a inferiority complex because of her half sister, Jien must be a lot more talented pushing Syuen to make very bold and rash decisions to keep up.
Edit: I'm thinking there is also a small chance that Syuen is a clone based in Jien thus half sisters and apparent age difference. Especially since she seems very dismissive of the idea that the two of them are the result of an affair.
So. Many. Questions.
The confirmation that the commander was created, shines a new light on certain other things/events, which in turn lead to more questions. And I love it. I'm excited to see where the story takes us in the future.
But god dammit, my brain can't think about this event without seeing the similarities to Resident Evils "Project W.".

So we all know how Syuen is and a majority of Nikke players would agree that she's a menace. What concerns me is the thought of what if Syuen is the KINDER/MORE PATIENT one compared to Jien. Just the very idea of Jien's identity being top secret and she operates in a secret lab with who knows what kind of experiments, it terrifies me.
The lab belonged to someone Mana used to know? Someone that commander also knows? There's only one person that can be, but how does Mana know we know her?

Just want to Express my feelings about Ether -I hate her and think that she is pure evil!!! How she talks about her experiment subjects like about tools and she enjoys it too much! OMG I can't stand her.
Oh absolutely. I don't like Ether at all. But I love how well written she is! All the things she's done in the past is absolutely disgusting and disturbing but gosh darn they cooked with her. Truly makes you feel uncomfortable around her and hate her
The Commander felt too calm about the reveal that he didn't even knew his past correctly. Because he always feels like too much of a spectator and you can't actually do what YOU want as him. He even lets Syuen's sister push him around and toy with him. This event being centered around him kinda reveals how blank his character can be. But I am happy what Mana said. That the Nikkes don't love him because of what he is, it's because of who he is. Felt like they wanted to make the player feel better, that they forged this relationships with the girls themselves. Not by being any lab experiment.
Personally, I disagree. I think the Commander was anything but calm and was clearly in crisis, he asking Mana if he is even human showed just how distressed he was and him passing out from fatigue/stress also shows how this took a toll on him. I think they did a pretty good job portraying his existential crisis without forcing it too much. Also, Jien put him in a vulnerable situation because otherwise he wouldn't bend to her, thats why she made sure he was weak and affected by the headache and that he would be alone and without Counters there to help him. I think their next meeting is gonna be very different.
@Azrael_Terminus you fail to see what I meant, when you question someone's identity, it is a natural response that they'll be agitated, panicked. Even I was losing my mind having a meltdown. Meanwhile Commander was like "Ah thanks,...okay". He acted too passively while Syuen's sister was toying with him.
