first rock song i listened too on "on demand comcast" changed my life im 25 and listen to this regularly still (all through my army career) this music is timeless
This will always be my favorite song because it shows how sometimes with deal with not pleasing GOD and our conscience call us out to change, but due to human nature we are in this battle between monster and saint, good and evil, the good thing is that JESUS, will not make us perfect, but he will help us do our best possible in this life, and from there on he will see if we really want to spent eternity with him. There's always a better time to come! :)
i have to agree with Rafael, it's hard to please God, but that's the point He doesn't need our pleasing to be accepted, as long as you do not deny him, of course he knows we will make stupid decisions and that's were the repent and forgiveness comes in play, he can only JUDGE our hearts, no one else and ignore the basis people because they will meet him on judgement day and call them out when they have denied him and his wonderful life. Some people forget this is a Christian band, but not all christian bands are literally christian they get titles from the media.
+Shy Potato Have you felt lost and drawn closer to understanding what these songs are representing aspects of your life? God speaks to us in many different ways, you just have to listen..he is reaching for you, to heal you, to save you...are you listening?
How can anyone not like this song! I almost cry everytime I hear it! Of course, I guess if you don't like being close to tears you could not like it, but still! Think about it!
Wow. A lot of meaning and wisdom can be gained by that video. Questions.. Who do we feel more sorry for the one who died or the one who has to live with the guilt? In this war called life there will always be casualties but how do we live without regret? I guess choose your battles wisely, knowing that if it was worth living for and fighting for, it is worth dying for. So by counting the cost beforehand, we can live with certainty that the battle was worth the loss and sacrifice therefore we can live without regret. See "worth the pain" by Disciple. I believe this song epitomizes the answer. If we can sing that song about our battle, then we can live with no regret. God bless
This song makes me think of my mom....she died about 2-3 years ago at age 34 of a heart attack....I was in seventh grade, now im in 10th....it was really hard for me, and this song describes how I feel about her....I need to be closer....closer....
And now Joel regrets going forward, wishes he could redo the whole thing, then goes back in time so he can go Trevor's way. And then it's a circle that never ends. This video almost made me cry...😣
+beththeREDfan it was even sadder for me since it's one of my sons favorite songs and after seeing the video he asked me to explain it to him, and telling him how sometimes you care for someone so much that you would do anything, including giving your life so that they may live
+Stompbox99 yeah. It's hard telling younger kids why these bands sing the songs they sing. But at least we can give them songs that show God's true love instead of what is the world's fake love.
"Sometimes I feel like a monster and times I feel like a saint" "I love the way you kill me I love the way you heal me" These lyrics are very similar to Skillet's songs Sometimes and Kill Me Heal me
Wanting, watching, debating, on which way to run to, Haunted, voices, craving, someone to run to, I haven't lost myself in a long time, I never tried to care when I wanted to, I just want to be part of something, I just want to be real like you Sometimes, I feel like a monster, And times, I feel like a saint, I'm on my knees, you're my favorite disease Silent, warnings, tell me, that I've let things come, Undone, show me, teach me, the way to heaven, 'Cause no other way can, I haven't lost myself in a long time, I never tried to care when I wanted to, I just wanted to to be part of something, I just wanted to be real like you Sometimes, I feel like a monster, And times, I feel like a saint, I'm on my knees, you're my favorite disease Closer, closer, closer to you, I need to be closer, I have closure, and get closer to you, Every step I take... Sometimes, I feel like a monster, And times, I feel like a saint, I'm on my knees, you're my favorite disease And I love the way you kill me, Love the way you heal me, I love the way you kill me, Love the way you heal me, I love the way you kill me, Love the way you heal me
Thousand Foot Krutch is an awesome band in the history of the making related to Mxpx, Hawk Nelson, Flyleaf, Pod & Anberlin to put where they belong as a christian too. 🤩
Haven't long heard about TFK, got told by a friend of them, and fair play, haven't heard such good music in a while, can't get the songs out of my head, not like I want too. :)
thumbs up if you think people who do drugs stink and that tfk rawks so hard that it is your fav disease and it makes u move & u fall apart without hearing their songs every day of your life
Man, this clip is so cheesy LOL But still, one of my favorite songs ever! The lyrics are so deep, so wise, just perfect!!!! I think only Christians will fully understand the "saint/monster" and "kill/heal" meaning.
Lol, what's really cheesy is when people actually try to be cool in music videos lol that's cringy af! At least TFK has the balls to upload what they want.
I was going to comment something to this effect until I scrolled down and noticed how you've rendered me redundant. Agreed a 100 percent, every word you said. This song is always going to be an all-time classic for me. But the video just falls flat, maybe because, like you said, the acting doesn't reflect accurately (and lol the ear studs on soldiers) and, for me, definitely doesn't carry the same emotional punch as in the song by itself.
I tottaly agree, they are really, really good band and absolutely nobody I meet knows them. I'm glad that it looks like their new ablum is getting some publicity what they truly deserve.
I love the meaning of the song that gets into the video...it's sad that one of them die after all...friendship and team work is the best thing in war...I LOVE THE VIDEO!!! TFK FTW!!!!
I saw this music video for so many times in a 7 eleven store in philippines wayback 2012. Like it was looped forever along with their ads on their large LCD tv. I was hooked up and looked it on youtube. I realized that they are same band members of FM Static. 😮
I tend to avoid this song at all times because if makes me sad and I remember my highschool friend who passed away. TFK was so underrated, I hope the will make an album this upcoming year.
Jesus has to kill the rights to ourselves in order to heal our hearts-we have to lose ourselves so that we can be found in Him. We all want to belong, be part of something bigger than ourselves...a United group with one goal, one objective, one heart, one mind, one Spirit. We have to battle with our conscience all the time, choosing between good and evil. When we want to do good, evil is right there interfering with our decision to choose God's Way. May we walk in His Ways and walk in His Truth. His Word and His Blood is the ONLY way that can heal us completely🙏🙌 In addition, one of the best relatable videos (whether you are a Christian or not) ever made...something we can all connect and identify with.
Only 80,620 views since 2009!? Oh common! Seriously! Such an AWESOME SONG and only that many views? Seems people don't know good music. I pity them so much. TFK FTW!
It's like if something really bad happened to your friend and you could have prevented it by giving your life instead...then you have the chance to re-live it. It shows true selflessness.
awesome music video, i like how the ending shows that either way he went the guy got shot down showing it wasnt his fault, i laughed when i saw him die the second time, i was like alls sad until then. then was like HAH
gotta love the video. still, kinda sucks with what all happens. that was one of those tough call situations and it seemed like no matter what happened, someone from that squad wasn't gonna make it.
They didn't completely repeat it. The first time around he's being too stubborn and they decide to go his way, then the second time around he concedes and they go the other way and he gets shot instead. Taking the place of the person shot the first time, basically.
@danyal159 - ill agree that the fact that skillet is publicized as a christian band may not necessarily imply that their music is about the gospel. But I was only saying that if you comment on a video and say something about god related to the video (or comparing scenarios from the video and life, in this case the gospel) the comments do have something to do with the video
What the story shows is either way it was a lose, lose situation. When he told the guy to go one way the guy died, if he had listened to him, he would've die.
@ik0runescape It's mainly because Skillet is defined as less hardcore, so therefore more mainstream christian radio stations like K-LOVE will play Skillet.
I remembered when I first listened to this song in Elementary School. Thank you for fueling my love of guitar and rock music
Was that 10 years ago? Man God help me!

oh look reality has worked its way into the video. woo. not everything is about religion, guys.
i have to agree with Rafael, it's hard to please God, but that's the point He doesn't need our pleasing to be accepted, as long as you do not deny him, of course he knows we will make stupid decisions and that's were the repent and forgiveness comes in play, he can only JUDGE our hearts, no one else and ignore the basis people because they will meet him on judgement day and call them out when they have denied him and his wonderful life. Shy Potato Well the fact that TFK is a Christian band might have something to do with the religious topic. Just saying.
God bless you brother, we all fall short of heavenly glory
+Shy Potato Have you felt lost and drawn closer to understanding what these songs are representing aspects of your life? God speaks to us in many different ways, you just have to listen..he is reaching for you, to heal you, to save you...are you listening?
When VEVO actually presented talented artists.
+Levi Ackerman The VEVO logo is in the right corner of the video... Lol.
This song and video still rock. So emotional
Love this song
This band needs more publicity, their quite good, especially this song
How can anyone not like this song! I almost cry everytime I hear it! Of course, I guess if you don't like being close to tears you could not like it, but still! Think about it!
Man this story gets to me. Just remember life isn't easy and God always aloud things to happen for a reason.

Definitely one of the most sensible music videos I've ever seen
Trevor and Joel died!!! NOOOOO!!!!!! This video makes me want to cry, just like the first time I watched RED's Feed The Machine video.
I thought you were serious for a second xd
Best band ever!
ikr!! 👊
a band i haven't listened to in a long time!!!! but still an all time fav!!!
I love the video for this song. It's so powerful and emotional. I appreciate the heart and soul poured into it.
Love this as I do all their music
"Sometimes I feel like a monster and times I feel like a saint" "I love the way you kill me I love the way you heal me" These lyrics are very similar to Skillet's songs Sometimes and Kill Me Heal me
OMG! Just Perfect (without any word)
A disease is different then an illness. A disease is something that completely overtakes you. It controls your life. God is my favorite disease.
