Excellent, Don. You'll have a great time. www.hikingupward.com/JNF/WilburnRidgePineMountain/images/Map.pdf I would suggest starting from Massie Gap and then hiking South on AT over Wilburn Ridge. You can also take the Wilburn Ridge Trail. Then, continue on the AT to the Thomas Knob Shelter for some great views. That's about 4 miles out from Massie Gap. I think that covers the best section.
Yes, above is a 14 mile loop. It’s a Grayson highlands map with the Mt. Rogers recreational area too. The AT leaves the official state park and goes into Mt. Rogers.
