Fr. Mike focuses on trust today, specifically trusting God in difficult times. Like David, we need to learn to trust God in the midst of the battle, not wait until it's over. Today's readings are 2 Samuel 15, 1 Chronicles 19-20, and Psalm 3.

Praying for Fr. Mike & BIY 🙏🙏🙏 I will go to the Sat. vigil mass in the city and then proceed to a sleep study until Sunday afternoon. I jumped ahead as I will be missing a couple of days. Thank you all for praying and encouraging me. 🥰🙏 Happy Mother's Day! 💐

An inspiring story of how King David kept communicating with God and trusting Him.
* Some people act kindly just to achieve hidden agenda instead of actually caring for people - Absalom fakes care and kindness towards the people so that they will like Absalom more than King David.
* God can make someone's advice bad if that person is advising someone evil - David requests God to turn Abiator's advice to Absalom into foolishness due to Abiator's betrayal of David and God.
* Psalm 3- Trust in God under the Adversity - A psalm written while King David was fleeing from his son Absalom is a powerful and a relatable prayer. We must love and trust God even when things seem to fall apart around us and when everyone seems to be against us. We must pray and trust Jesus and God. We are saved. We must believe in it. Through Christ our Lord.

Navigating life is for the best of us it seems is full of twists and turns, we make poor decisions, don't move when we should, turn a blind eye to bad behaviour, and on and on. Sometimes the temptation is to compare ourselves to those we think have 'made it' I have to keep reminding myself daily just how blessed I am, 'the world' might think I have failed in life, but what I do have is a peace that the world cannot give.😀
Tough lesson but beautiful.
It's real nice to see David doing something good again.
Day 133: March 26, 2022. ✅
When Fr Mike said that when David escaped Jerusalem he made sure that his people all left the city and that they were safe. He stood there and they all had to walk by him, it reminded me of David who was a shepherd first before he was a King.
Which also led me to think about the parabole of The Good Shepherd when Jesus said : “The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. I am the good shepherd”.
So even though David has not been focused on the mission God gave him lately and messed up multiple times, his true nature is revealed in times of trouble. He “lost himself” as a king but now that he has to escape, it feels like God is sending him back to his humble beginnings when he was just a shepherd who cared for his flock.
That’s what difficulties and trouble do to us. It makes us humble ourselves and remind us where we come from.
Jesus who is presented as The New David doesn’t need to go through troubles to be reminded of His mission because His sight was always set on His mission. That’s why He is the good shepherd who lays His life for the sheep.
I don’t know. That’s just my 2 cents about today’s reading. 😊

Father Schmitz, you've won me over to this deep respect for David.
I'm doing this in the next year2023-Day 133 5/(13)15/23 Memorial to Our Lady of Fatima. It is so very hard for me to continue full trust in the Lord when everything seems to be falling - then I read Job 38:4 and on. It makes me realize for that moment that He is in full control!
Day 133-5/13/22. Feast of Our Lady of Fatima . My God, I believe, I adore , I hope and I love you . I beg pardon for all those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope and do not love you . Our Lady of the Rosary, Queen of Peace , pray for us !

My first miscarriage made me a Mom.
You're correct. I've been a mom for 14 years but my oldest just turned 12. I have 14 children but only 5 are Earth side.
But most people are too uncomfortable talking like that or hearing it. It's sad all around.

😭😭😭HOW I wish they had put this up on utube as I asked when he had started at the beginning of this year. I stopped listening after the first week on JANUARY. Now there is a mountain to climb. 😔😫
Enjoy climibing this mountain, start from beginning, it doesn't have to be followed with exact timing!!!! Enjoy the fact that you can listen at your own pace in your own way and whenever you want to from now on, don't pressure yourself with a timeline, there isnt one, just enjoy walking each day with the word of god at your pace, god is very patient and will walk with you from the beginning, enjoy the journey, savour the words, meditate, just enjoy!!!! Yes, it is easier for me to make this journey on RUclips than it is on podcasts too. No stress that your 'Bible in a Year' doesn't match exactly with the calendar year. Like the folks leaving Jerusalem today, while we are all walking at different paces, the Good Shepard waits and watches for us all. 😀

Fyi, day 132 seems to not be in the playlist. Days 136 through day 161 appear to also all be missing.
4 weeks later and they are still missing . 😕 I’ll have to check for the podcast else where to catch the missing days but it is nice getting to have the text on RUclips to read along if you don’t have your Bible with you at that moment.

Nor are 136 through 161. Many people have been complaining about this since June but to no avail.
Which is before the other in time: 2 Samuel, or 1 Chronicles? I’m confused.
2 Samuel was first. 1 Chronicles is written many years later, after the return from the Babylonian exile, as an account of history.
