@theredeemedsoulvery childish to arbitrarily categorize things that have never been defined by the people who created the channel. Especially just purely based on your personal opinion as you have never met these people and know nothing about their behind the scenes operations. Everything about it, from unironically calling someone "mid" and larping as if this youtube channel ran by a few people is some tv show that distinguishes between hosts and showrunners is just weird and immature, indicating a lack of general knowledge.
As an American, I feel the need to explain that Waffle House and Denny's are not for casual dining. They exist as a place to go to after getting shit faced at the bar. You do not go there, you end up there.
Zack was pretty close with his theory on why moths are attracted to lights. Moths use the moon (lunar navigation) to figure out where they're going and man made lights seem like a moon to them, thus confusing their sense of direction.
I love it if you bring in "guests" of ur own circle. Please do that every once in a while You told us you are reading all those comments Peter.... so I hope you read that one
About the moths thing: they use the sun (or the moon I can't exactly remember) to guide themselves, always keeping it in the same side of their body. The sun doesn't change in position that much, so the moths get a straight line this way, but when a moth flies past a light, suddenly the light (which they think is the sun) is in a different place. So they adjust their direction of flight to always keep that light on the same side, which results in the moth either circling the light or spiraling into it Disclaimer: I read this one time several years ago

The nectar from flowers reflects ultraviolet light, so the light could look like food to moths that eat nectar. According to some scientists, the moon helps moths know where they're going.
Olive Garden is fine. Overpriced but I’ve never disliked it, just never been blown away either. Applebee’s I never have because I don’t like it, Waffle House I’ve never been to

This podcast was my favorite so far! The improv skits were hilarious! I would definitely love to see more of those types of segments in future podcasts!
everyone makes fun of jordan’s way of thinking, but he asks the most interesting questions. I would hire him easily just because of his outside the box thinking style.
I looked up some stuff about moths. It looks like the reason many people I saw answering this say moths (and other insects) are attracted to light at night is because they actually think it’s the moon (or even the sun if they are out and about during the day). So moths use the moon the help navigate by placing it in the field of view at a certain angle so they can make sure to fly relatively in one direction. Lights because they are close and look like the moon, cause them to fly past it, get confused and fly back. The relative position of the lights acting as the moon causes the issue it seems
Late listening to this because holiday weekend, but I'm old enough to remember walking right up to the gate with my dad when he was going on work trips and seeing him off from there, and then being right there watching for him as people came off the plane into the terminal. Obviously changed after 9/11 but I do have very clear memories of it. Met my (adopted) brother that way too.
Zack is close to correct; moths use the moon to navigate, not by going "towards" it but by keeping it at a particular angle, which works because the moon is so far away. Artificial lights are much closer so they end up circling around in an attempt to keep the angle instead.
Gottcha Peter, great job on your interview questions. So true that the pickaxe is probably the only exact replica you are ever going to find of a gaming item.
i’ve always wanted super speed… like after watching the flash, the stuff you can do is insane. and you can just go anywhere like teleporting, but i love running
Regarding the Moth Question my guess would be that early into "Humans inventing artificial light" moths who were curious enough to check it out were greeted with human food and stuff and could reprduce more easily, thus spawning moths that were attracted to human light sources. Before then they were probably just nocternal insects
EB games actually existed in US. It’s similar to Gamestop, but when I was in high school both EB games and GameStop existed in the same city next to my high school. The appeal to EB games was the ability to borrow a game and play it in store for free on the available consoles in store. The business model wasn’t sustainable because we didn’t need to buy any games and can play the game every day in store.
What a great podcast. Sophie as a guest speaker was awesome, hope she appears again. I always watch these instead of just listening because the facial expressions and body language make it that much better. Peter always dying of laughter gets me every time. Y'all rock 🤘.
23:33 I was super caught off-guard when they started talking about Feel Good Inc. by Gorillaz. I love it! A good recommendation from Gorillaz for dancing/clubs is DARE. It's a banger.

Finally an area of my expertise. I’m a pilot and i can confirm that planes can perfectly fine when you lose an engine! Landing without an engine is also not hard at all and any properly trained pilot should be able to do it to the point where you wouldn’t even be able to feel a difference. So if anyone is worried about flying, don’t be! It’s very safe and even if you lose an engine, you’re not going to go careening out of the sky, especially with the planes and engines that you would be flying on (maybe no spirit though)
On the moth topic baby sea turtles are the same way When they hatch they would normally use the moon to navigate back to the water but lights from houses confuse them and make them travel the wrong way
Peter, I honestly think you were the best salesman in that section of the video. It was hilarious, but also made some sense and your comebacks we're spot on. Zack's may have sounded better but that's really all he did better. You made the better points. Zack just mentioned some Pokemon moves and said that the pajamas are soft. I'm with you Peter. Good job.
This episode has me dying today at work 😂 My theory about moths: they're actually drawn to darkness but it always looks darkest behind a bright light source.
As an ex-EB Games (Canada) employee, god i hope it's nicer in Aus for you than it is here Sophie. It's funny she mentioned applying for the job with 'gamers'. She's exactly the kind of person that always got hired at the stores i worked at. It was almost better if you didn't game to work here lol
It turns out Zach is right about moths, it turns out the moon helps them navigate to where they need to be. Artificial lights on porches and things make the moths confused with direction

As an American that has ended up there EXCLUSIVELY while shit faced after a night bender, this is 100% accurate.
Landing is definitely harder than taking off, during your first lesson they let you take off immediately, usually don't land till 3rd or 4th lesson

Before people's light, moths worshipped the sacred light of The Radiance, obviously
I love that Peter LOST IT when he hears Jordan's questions. Honestly that's the highlight of "Jordan's question of the week"
Far as I know, it is not completely understood why moths are attracted to light but this is the most popular theory rn
