      He has that "embraced into the wrong clan" vibe. Like Isaac said in one of the previous episodes, he should have been a Ventrue, but became Gangrel.
      We don't really know yet how much of his current short temper is his character before the embrace and how much it's the Gangrel blood...
      And his convictions- what we've heard of them so far at least- make me believe it's more of the latter + the struggle of being thrust into this new, cruel unlife.

      yeah the first episodes were rough but he's really mellowed out. I also feel that he's got some real love for the coterie now. And I must say his coterie seems lovable, although we'll probably find out that Isaac has living flesh furniture on his third floor and Fuego mind controls the council or something. Not sure what skeletons Serif has in her closet. She seems the least fucked up of the team.

      @@dmen89 Having recently played a long chronicle with an Old Clan Tzimisce in my coterie (I still play V20), I'm now curious to see how Alex would flavour Koldunic bullshitery. He seems like the guy who'd go for a fire focused build just to accentuate the already quasi-masochistic nature of the clan in a "being reminded often of the threat that fire poses is an intrinsic part of what it truly means to be a vampire" sort of way.
      Seriously, they need to bring the old bloodlines to V5E; they're both fun and terrifying.

      His character is interesting, but he's about the least Gangrel Gangrel I've ever seen. I'm really hoping we get some kind of insight into his backstory as to why someone from a clan of outsiders who despise everything to do with what a corporate personality is would embrace him.

    • @ArchangelsTalons
      @ArchangelsTalons Год назад +16

      @@drosarius5929 I am pretty sure Gangrel embrace enemies as well. This is taken from the White Wolf wiki: "When we punish, however, there is little effort wasted. A mortal who insults or threatens one of our clan receives a nighttime visit. The Gangrel Embraces the mortal, making the process as painful and terror-filled as possible, and leaves her. Usually the Embrace happens indoors, in the rooms of the person punished, assuring their discovery and destruction. In recent nights, this punishment has fallen into disuse, though there are still some who actively enact it".
      So it's rare, but not out of the ordinary to embrace an enemy into the Gangrel clan in the hopes that they die because they don't know how to control their urges or hide from the sun.

    I am so glad to see Alex demonstrating the range of Tzimisce. Being mainly part of the Sabbat, and with a gruesome discipline, they often get one-noted as vicious, often deranged, inhuman monsters. However there is nothing inherent to their beast and bloodline that is any *more* inhuman or monstrous than any other clan. It is a choice to make them such as opposed to a requirement or predestination (again, in comparison to other vampires at least).

    Fuego scares me more and more.
    She's basically becoming a murder hobo who refuses to clean up after herself, and she vibes with the beast a lot. I fear she's gonna lose her humanity veeery fast, unless she keeps finding justfications for her murders in her motivs. Also, the way she just uses her powers to influence just anyone around her, even her own coterie, is very scary.
    I wasn't crazy about Isaac so far, but this episode he really got me. This whole Tzmisce authority thing is pretty cool, plus he has all reasons to reprimand the rest of the coterie at this point, since things seem to go downhill pretty quick. Although, when he said he did nothing, it's true, but at the same time someone had to do something about those two guards, even though it was handled very badly it had to be handled.
    Question, does none of them have that thing that makes people forget what they saw? I forgot the name. I think it's a Ventrue thing? It would make things much easier.
    Serif's anger and background is really starting to show and I'm all for it.
    And I appreciate Roy being the token "trying to be human" of the group.
    This coterie is soooo full of friction, I don't know how it's gonna end up since they only just got together but it seems to get worse and worse, especially the more they are true to themselves. I think we're in for a wild ride, where the danger and conflict will come from the group itself more than from outside.

      I was a bit mad at Isaac for not using dominate to calm the guards and then just diffuse the situation. However, I think that, in his typical fashion, he was calmly observing situacion and deciding what to do and when to do it. It was Ray and Fuego who decided to fight the guards.
      It can be argued that he is partially responsible, since he is the older and responsible one. BUT the team does not see him as the boss, Ray said it himself.

    Great episode. I've been waiting for Alex(Isaac) to get touchy over his ghouls. I hope each member gets a bit of that tongue lashing, Serif has been incredibly rude about it. Although Feugo has been very neutral, Isaac has been very hospitable for everyone, despite his clans impulses.

Those fuckers don't play by any rules and are surprisingly less forgiving.
      I think that Serif will fuck up majorly if and when she goes after her sire. Ravnos are more trickery than most and he has strong card to play in the hostage department.
      I also find the character of Isaac the most interesting and hold some hope that he is from the old clan. A sleeper agent within the Anarchs that may only be beginning to understand the real danger she poses. How agreeable she is to the demands of her Beast (which I imagine speaks to her as her Sire) was the first clue. She also very much lied to Richter about not knowing her clan in the first episode, despite later revealing she knew her Sire and that he was Ventrue.

      I think that is what is so interesting about NY by Night is the difference in beat with the coterie. In LA by Night Annabelle was shouldered and protected from the ugliness of being a Vampire thne in this case we see Ray as a mentally damaged individual who struggles with who he is while trying to cling to what humanity he has left where as Fuego has none. She hides behind the pretention protecting the Bronx but in the end she just kills without thinking twice. Serif is a wildcard and Isaac is the scariest one since he is honest on what he is and does not seek to retain any form of humanity.
      This feels like a very good start to a story of strife and pain and betrayal.

You find out that the hospital is understaffed and can't get to all the patients. You find a girl in incredible pain, you can either give her some blood or walk away. If you give her blood, your humanity rises - however, I'm pretty sure that's also because the character you play doesn't know about the ghoul situation in its entirety yet. so perhaps Jason tried to level it out instead...?

      @@danielfodor6445 *Sajna sok helyen kihaltak a játékosok. Jobban mondva felnőttek, családosok lettek, már máshol élnek... stb. Budapesten nagyobb eséllyel találsz olyanokat akik játszanak. Ilyen pl az Árnyékszféra. Megtalálod őket a facen. Szoktak is rendezni játékokat. Van amikor többet is. Én se játszom már. Nehéz is lenne összeegyeztetni másokkal. Sok szerepjátékos könyvem most is itt porosodik. Csak nosztalgiából vannak meg. Ha megjelenik a V5 könyv azt is csak azért veszem meg, hogy elolvassam meg, hogy meglegyen. Szerettem annak idején játszani. Bár mi leragadtunk a M.A.G.U.S. és Vampire játékoknál. Bár egyszer játszhattam Hunter játékot is. Az nagyon megtetszett. Eleve ki kéne képezni egy új játékos generációt. Játékokból így is volna mit játszani. Ott a D&D, M.A.G.U.S. , Call of Cthulhu, Cyberpunk, Shadowrun, Star Wars, WoD... stb. Nem hiszem el, hogy nem lenne olyan játék ami a mai kölyköknek ne jönne be. Eleve óriási potenciál van ezekben a világokban csak jól kell hozzájuk nyúlni.*

    Alex plays a vampire so good. He remembered Vampires are very patient. They have all the time they need to reach their goals. So vamps will take time plot research and scheme. This is one of the those things that make them very dangerous.

    Rey is definitely giving off the wolf of wallstreet vibes. Love Isaac's calm, polite, and level headed nature. both very interesting characters.

    22:51 I just started to notice these animalistic noises from Rey and I don't know if it's intentional from Joey or not, but it's on point nonetheless.

      I haven't picked up on those as of yet. Perhaps a rewatch of his scene as a Tremere in Valediction might clear it up for you.
      If he doesn't do any of that there than I would assume it's deliberate.

    • @Partor6
      @Partor6 2 года назад +2

      @@MorinehtarTheBlue i dont think he does that in Valediction, but we only see him for like 5-10 minutes there so we can t be sure based on that. It is worth rewatching some of his scenes in previous ny by night ep.s though.
      The thing is i m sure it s deliberate, as in he uses it for roleplay, i mxjust not sure if he does it for gangrel flavor or just to emphasize Rey's personality (meaning he would probably have had that before the embrace too)

    I am just so glad Issac stood up and spoke for himself. I, as an audience, was so frustrated seeing Fuego and Rey throwing shit at him while THEY are the ones causing all the problems and Issac being the one cleaning up after them. I really do admire how Alex didn’t lost his cool as a player and how Issac stayed so calm and kept his manner during this situation. If it were me who was being accused by my teammates for what they did wrong, I would be SO ANGRY and definitely throw some sarcasm back at them.

    YO! Isaac stay schooling the Coatrie on life in WoD while at the same time revealing more about his char’s values. I’m like, preach Tzimisce! (Props to he actor’s poetic improv🫰) also Serif, Fuego, and Rey had some great character development this episode, ESP Serif! And that scene in the beginning with Fuego and Rey was 🔥 totally got me hyped to see where the interactions go with them but I must add Isaac’s slow, subtle character reveals and development (very reactionary but illuminating, like his response to the Cotarie’s actions at the end of the ep) is also nice in conjunction with the pacing of the other characters
