So powerful... It broke my heart to see Jeff's guitar standing there in the spotlight, it's strings silent yet its sound echoing in all our hearts and minds. What a wonderful tribute it was. It made my eyes leak.Thank you for the music Randy, Teddy and Jeff.❤
Same here as soon as I saw Jeff’s guitar my eyes teared up I saw them back in 21 and they played the song they wrote for Jeff so beautiful what an amazing band and I’m so happy for all the great music they have blessed us with
I remember as a kid in High School sneaking into a bar in Ft. Payne to watch a band called "Wild Country". I said one day these guys are going to make Alabama great in country music! Little did I know! That band Became Alabama, and it is wild what it did to country music forever. Thank You for all of the wonderful music. As another poster stated it was bitter sweet seeing Jeff's guitar on stage, I really appreciate them paying that tribute to one of the best guitarists that ever pulled a string. RIP Mr. Cook! Lisa we love you back home in Trussville! Praying for you!
If you were young in the 80's, and you didn't shed a tear to this performance, there is something wrong with you. I've watched this at least 50 times already, and I'm still sitting here with tears running down my face. Tears of joy, and, tears of sorrow. Tears of joy because I was lucky enough to be young and grow up with all those incredible Alabama songs. I played in a band for over 30 years, and played all those Alabama songs back then. Tears of sorrow because those were the best times ever, and they are gone. I miss them so much. But OMG! How beautiful to hear Randy still sound just like he did back then, and the still perfect harmonies of Randy and Teddy 40 years later. It really sucks that Jeff wasn't there. But, let's give credit to that guitar player. It had to be a little intimidating to see that green double neck guitar setting there in the spotlight in front of him, but what an honor it must have been for him. I would say this guy was chosen to play this tribute for a reason. He played it perfectly. Note for note. If you close your eyes and are not looking, you would swear Jeff was there. I'm sure Jeff was looking down and giving a nod of approval to this gentleman just like Randy and Teddy did while they were sitting off to the side while watching and listening and nodding and giving a thumbs up to other artists doing their songs on this night. R.I.P. brother Jeff.😢
Totally agree. Saw those boys many times in my youth. Had a huge girl crush on Randy, probably like every other girl back then 😆 Last time I saw them was in 2016 in Knoxville TN, along with the Charlie Daniels Band. Little did I know that would be the last time I would see Jeff Cook. And now that Charlie is gone, the world is a little dimmer. RIP.
I was a young boy at a concert with my parents the very first time they sung this song live. They were the opening act for Hank Jr. I got their autographs. They were the best part of that show.
I grew up absolutely loving Alabama. One of my earliest and most cherished memories is of me sitting on my daddy's lap as he whirled me around to Alabama's Mountain Music., and my mom had the biggest crush on Randy Owens lol. My parents passed away in 2016, but I still smile with tears in my eyes as I sing along to the greatest country music band of all time. Thank you so much for all the memories! Love you, Alabama!!!!!
Born, raised and still here in Bama. Lucky I have a job that takes me all across our beautiful state. Including the Alabama Mueseum where these fine gentlemen are tributeded. My goodness they sound amazing still. Many Gods Blessings To This Family and Band! Roll Tide
Love Alabama ! Always have and always will . Takes me back to my childhood days ! Bless you guys ! ❤❤❤🙏🙏 🙋🏻♀️ I’m southern born and southern raised ! ❤
I'm not southern, but I love Alabama!!! I saw them in concert when Randy's daughter was a little girl, and he sang to her on stage. What a band! What a man! ❤
My folks live in Fort Payne Alabama and you sometimes see the guys in town. I grew up listening to them and still play them almost everyday. Best country band EVER!!!!
They are still fantastic! I loved the show. It did make me sad to see Jeff’s guitar standing there. I love you guys as much as I first did in 1980!!! ❤
I’m good ole northeast Alabama boy and see Randy and Teddy at the Stockyard every once in a while and no matter the awards they just don’t know how proud we are of them.
Randy doesn't move around much anymore, but we got a little jab out of him at about the 3:50 time spot. I'm sure it kills him not to be able to anymore because he was always so energetic. But that's ok. He still sounds like he did and Teddy's harmony with Randy is still spot on. And a really, really nice job on the bass there. You can tell his heart is in it. Tough to see Jeff's guitar without him there playing it, but what a wonderful way to respect and remember him.
Oh my! How I love Alabama!!! I have sent way back! Your music gives me such memories of my husband and I back in high school! Those were our best days! Thank you!!!!❤❤🥰
@@wilberfoster1933I think we all love our home place, I’ve seen so many beautiful things all over but my favorite place will always be that beautiful place in the middle of nowhere Fayette Co. AL ❤
I’m from Alberta, born and bred, but when I first heard this song 43 years ago, it spoke to me like nothing I’d ever heard before and it continues to. So even though I’m north of the line, this is my anthem, because like Jamey Johnson said, Alabama is in my DNA.
I'M SOUTHERN BORN AND BREAD, RIGHT HERE IN ALABAMA. MY HUSBAND OF 46 YRS. , MADE ME FEEL EVERY SONG. HE TOOK ME CONCERT FOR GIFT...MY SWEET LOVE DIED MAY 10, 2024....❤❤
Damn right that's country music and the legends of country music. Today won't even turn the radio on cause that I have no idea what it is but it's definitely not country music and never will be.
The greatest band ever!!!!! I have loved their music from the very beginning, this was really great. We miss Jeff of course, we would have loved to see him too!! 😥Thank you Randy, Teddy and Jeff for your awesome music 💜🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
I'm from Alabama. My home is in Alabama. I live in Alabama. And, Alabama is my favorite band, and, the greatest band of all time. Love these guys. "I'm in the heart of Dixie, Dixie's in the heart of me."
Another awesome performance from Alabama. This song titled "My Home's In Alabama" is one of my favorite songs to listen to. Sadly, it was really a shame that this song was not a number one hit and I can't believe that it did not make it as one of the band's number one hits. However, Randy Owen himself had often said that if it wasn't for this song, they wouldn't be where they were. Unfortunately, this song only peaked at 17 on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart way back in 1980. Here is the thing. The truth is that this song should have been a number one hit for Alabama as it is the official anthem for their hometown of Fort Payne, Alabama because the song itself is a biographical look at Alabama's early career as well as hopes and dreams. Not only that but it also pays homage to the roots of band members Randy Owen, Jeff Cook and Teddy Gentry as well. In the years since its original release, "My Home's In Alabama" became widely considered as the song that sparked the band's rise to eventual superstardom. In my honest opinion, I really think that it is criminal that this song was not a number one hit even though it should have been in the first place. It would be really great if "My Home's In Alabama" can re-enter at number one on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for the first time in years because it deserves a number one position. Otherwise, awesome performance and it sounds just like when they first sang this years ago.
I have always loved ALABAMA ❤❤❤ and I still do. I also miss Jeff Cook and I,m sorry Randy and Troy for your loss. Thank U for All your great songs. LOVE JL
