My dad was an OSI agent for 28 years. For the last 25 years, he had the same partner. They knew each other so well and each others style, that they got commendations for getting the most confesions. He had the gift of knowing how to read people and he was adaptable to the situation at hand. They were both very gifted at solving cases. There were 4 of us kids and we never got away with anything!
I had a high School employee one summer. She told me her dad was a professional handwriting analyst. Since her mother had passed, he was a working single dad, and thr kids were old enough to handle themselves, they had to leave him notes about whrre they were going. She said they couldn't get away with anything! Your comment reminded me of her. 😊 She was a doll and nice to have around.
I watched this interview/interrogation about a month ago. Two things tipped me off immediately that she committed the crime or was involved: (1) fake grief when told her ex had been killed, and (2) she froze, palms up, when confronted with facts of she and her car captured on video at the scene. Bravo, Chase, for offering your services. I would love you guys to have a 2nd channel just for interrogations, and bring on guest detectives to talk about their experiences. Love you guys! Favorite RUclips channel!
As a mother, if I was innocent and just told my childs father was murdered,my first concern would be OMG how am I going to explain this to my child who will be heart broken.
Wow Chase. The fact that you offered to train their entire department free of charge is more than amazing. If you could update us on whether or not they accepted your offer that would be so interesting to know! Though I have doubts on whether you would divulge that
I hope that 1. They do accept his offer and 2. One of the other men also goes with him. The more knowledge and experiences the better. It will do nothing but benefit the Boulder Police Dept. (I think they're in boulder Colorado LOL).
This is one of your best. I really like the less formal discussion between the four of you. It was so organic today. And I always appreciate and respect how you encourage people rather than discourage them.
FYI, the reason she is so angry in the beginning is bc her little boy is with her sister Rosa. Rosa was living with and having a relationship with Jason the victim. Part of the reason she killed him , was to prevent Rosa, Jason and the child from becoming a family, which they were rubbing in her face. A nest of vipers
She did not worry or think about her 5 year old, when she murdered the child's father. The child will now grow up without both parents. What is wrong with people??? Murder is NEVER a good idea.
I feel so bad for the little boy, he has lost both parents. I don't know what it does to a child's psyche, but it must be so hard know one parent killed the other. 😒🦔
I've come to the conclusion that there is a silent agreement between Greg, Scott and Chase, that when Mark gets all excited and starts looking around at their reaction that they try and react as little as possible.... just to mess with him.
LOL The idea that cute ex Navy Chase could ever be bullied by Huggable Scott is hilarious...... I love the badinage betwixt y'all. Love from Stratford upon Avon xxxx
I REALLY HOPE this pd takes y'all up on your offer! They'd be silly not to! Your passion for education & bettering others processes... it's just really cool!
@tamararutland-mills9530 I'm hoping their egos don't keep them from accepting the help! Sounds like Chase said they have a fairly good foundation but they could really benefit from some Dept wide training on personalized implementation! It'll be cool to see an interrogation a few yrs from now, after learning the TBP IT's!
@Chase Hughes -- The 6 things going through a suspect's mind ... 1. oh shit 2. oh shit 3. oh shit 4. oh shit 5. oh shit 6. I think I can still pull this off. ;)
Oh this is a good one!!! Excited for this as im sick in bed with strep attempting to also get work done. This will help me procrastinate more. Keep up the good work guys!
I'm in almost 15 minutes and I caught this the first time through, but I wanted to see what you all said: "I don't think any of you have told him what's happened. I don't even know what's happened." That's red flag #1. If she doesn't know what's happened, why would she be worried about whether the police have told her FIVE YEAR OLD son about it? This tells me that she knows what has happened. While playing ignorant of what happened she's indicating that she knows what happened. She can't play it both ways.
You guys were very kind about how bad the detective was...In this episode, I think Greg nailed it...he is soooooo good at summing everything up and explaining the tecniques of interrogation...
Even if he wanted to be honest, he didn’t even listen. He kept talking without letting her answer. Being honest doesnt mean giving her all the evidence.
I’m only 33 mins in and I’m feeling sick watching this detective rambling and telling her everything he knows! She doesn’t have a chance to tell any lies they can trap her in because she now knows exactly how much info they have. Please help them Chase!!
A good defense attorney would say she said the gunshot residue test better come back negative because she meant the cops would rig the test to make her look guilty.
@@hornpipe2 She was found guilty, so I guess that didn't matter. But our four panelists didn't think of that. That was something that would've come out of my mouth if I was innocent.
Scott I know this would be a challenge. You mentioned a young guy that was innocent and acted way different. It would be cool to put two video interrogations back to back in similar questioning and show the difference between what a guilty person says and acts and what an innocent one does.
Me practicing Chase's monologue at home: ". . . . I know you're a good kitty. . . .And I don't believe you're like that other messy kitty. . . And I bet you thought that all your poop went in the catbox . . ."
I'm autistic and I can still pick out that's just an inside joke between you guys since forever. I can't imagine that you have anything but respect for each other, and enough respect to be able to tease and play around. I don't see bullying, I see a comedy team. 😂 You have to be super comfortable and confident yourself with someone to be able to publicly play like that
This is one of the best I have seen you guys do. The reason is that the clips are not very long on the video of the interrogation itself, but it is one of the most informative of the information you guys give. Also, in this one there was a lot of discussion between you all. Usually, one goes first, second, third and fourth. In this one all of you were giving your thoughts one after another with no format and it was awesome. It was a bringing together of all your thoughts in rhythm of each section. Loved it.
Yaay! Another upload on a deep spring cleaning day! Thanks guys! Gonna tackle my bedroom full on while listening to this! I finished another quilt top since yall last uploaded! Thanks for your channel! Yall are appreciated!
This detective was in a hurry, showing all his cards and would not let her speak. An aside: Do you guys ever watch yourselves and read each others’ body language, e. g., Greg is bored or Chase disagrees, etc? Probably don’t have that kind of time. You guys are brilliant! I love watching your videos.
People need to understand just how bad of actors they really are--when he says the ex died today her voice, reaction, everything, made me giggle. It was like watching a really shitty soap opera.
Dear Gregg, Scott and Mark, all three of you looked to your right and down, 1'29, when Chase was saying, "good Mum's do what's hard, they face what's ahead for the sake of their kids." in almost perfect synchrornicity. It was really nice to see. Good job, Chase!
Worst interrogation I've ever seen while watching this channel. He gave her all their information and got nothing. He never even let her finish a sentence. Chase, you're great to offer to teach these guys. Anyone who interrogates needs this training.
@ALL PANELISTS I have found that many people don't appreciate sarcasm because they don't understand it. In conversation you quickly realize when and with whom you can crack funny jokes & comments, particularly when your sense of humour tends to err on the darker side 😉😄 That often gets lost on message boards/chat rooms where people tend to take everything literally which is why I do not regularly use them, nor am I on social media. With your lectures you get viewers from all over the world, a testimony of how good your panel is. However, there may be some linguistic limitations that can lend themselves to misinterpretation. PLEASE don't let that stop your banter, it is a clear & definitive part of your and certainly my enjoyment of the panel 😉👍

I just watched this on TikTok yesterday. I was like wonder what the Fellas would say 😂 the reaction of finding out that her ex partner died was awful. So glad you all have this up today.
I thought she sounded truly upset. But Mark is right, she did slip about son doesn't know what's happened. Who tells a five year old bad news without a parent.
Great one, thanks guys. We've seen some really great interrogators and some that just seem to lose sight of what they're there for. As for you Scott and Chase, I love your banter, it's so funny. In the UK we're always taking the mickey out of our friends 😅
With regard to the first point on Chase's list about the fear of what other people will think, I have the following quotation stuck to my laptop, don't know who said it first. 'We'd worry a lot less about what other people think about us if we realised how seldom they do'. Thanks guys. I enjoyed the video.
It is fascinating to see her go from her entrance with guns a blazing, to the realty that she will never see her little boy again. Such an unnecessary tragedy…just bc she didn’t want to share him with his father. Her sister is a whole other element in this crime and her interview is also available now. She was living with the murder victim
Every TBP video hammers home the fact that I absolutely suck at body language lol. Mark's take on detective Steve's entrance and no "duty of care" is so obvious, but I never would've registered that on my own. I guess I'll continue being a law-abiding citizen, bc clearly I'm not getting away with crap😂
New video, yes 😃 Looking forward to further education in this fascinating & helpful field of study. I find it easily applicable & very useful in everyday life, and also immensely entertaining to study other people. So, thank you very much in advance, dear instructors!
What a trip, I JUST watched a video on another channel about this case last night and was thinking it would be a good one for you guys to analyze. Love it!❤
The way she reacted to finding out her son's father was dead was so disingenuous it was comical.. She went from feigned surprise to acceptance in less than 30 seconds. There was no shock, no confusion, no taking time to process what this would mean to her son, nothing.
I don't know much about interrogations, but even I can see this guy is a train wreck. He's so bad, you almost start rooting for the criminal. The room looks like a psychiatrist's office, and he's sitting far too close to her. A dude that wide, sitting that close to me with no table or anything in between, would be totally threatening. That coupled with his clumsy accusations would guarantee I'd tell him nothing. He seems like he's imitating a police interrogator in a tv show, but he's not pulling it off.
I just caught her lying…she told them in the beginning that she had no idea what happened, then a bit later she told the cop that she heard on the radio on the way there that the radio said that a man shot him! Oh, cool, you guys caught t too!
Is she not very bright? Honest question. Did she not consider that she would be seen or missed at work etc? Seems like it was planned but very very badly.
one thing that REALLY bothered me - so the first guy is pretty much 100% sure that she just shot someone in the face (!!!!) - and he is TELLING HER - all the names of the people she knows/potential witnesses (the cops were told by this person *who he NAMES* that she said 'this' to this person ( *named* ) = who told this other person *he names* - omg - you think this person just SHOT someone IN THE FACE - and you're giving her the NAMES OF PEOPLE in her life that are potential witnesses - are you kidding me (putting their safety at risk !!!) as usual "too many words" - so this is part of a longer comment... (in which I agree, respect to the guy, difficult aspect of difficult role - but seriously - this really irked me !)
I love when I'm watching these videos and I pick up what I've learned from prior videos and then hear one of you point it out. It makes me feel like I'm back in high school learning! You're fantastic educators 🤚🏽
Absolutely. I was already looking for what was missing in the first clip before Chase called attention to one of those aspects. By that point,I already had a list. These guys are tops!
You mention a few times in this show how really innocent people react. I suggest a show of short clips A) liar B) truth teller C) analysis. MAYBE A) male liar, B) female liar C) analysis, tepeat with male and female truth tellers. Might help us see the difference instead of telling about the difference. Keep up the good show!
U lost me. Do u mean clipping the vids in that order, clip #1 she's lying, clip #2 she's telling the truth and so on? And then their commentary will be explaining how it is that she is lying/telling the truth etc.

I think you guys have fantastic collaborative energy. The banter between Chase and Scott is just one indicator of the respect and trust you share.

Totally agree. Feels like family

Love these gentlemen. All so different and contribute interesting views. Best wishes from Manchester, England.🐕
THE most educational podcast on YT by far. Thank you for sharing this, blessings from Belfast.

@gromer-v8sthey’re too hysterical professing their innocence’s to spell😂
Right?! Being accused of something I didn’t do makes me cry 100% of the time 😅

After Chase's Andy story, I started to confess to an envelope I took from a Hallmark store I worked at back in the 80's.
That's hilarious. Thank you. I have a few envelopes too.
You should go back to the store and pay for that envelope. 🎉
Finally, thank you Julie. But, we always knew it was YOU! : )

PLEASE don't let that stop your banter, it is a clear & definitive part of your and certainly my enjoyment of the panel 😉👍
A sarcastic sense of humor is great so long as it is not mean.
What's missing in this (text only) type of format is the very important element:

I even saw I sigh of releave initially and than she hides he face by bowing down and then dives up with no emotions..

as usual "too many words" - so this is part of a longer comment...
It becomes addictive. I even find myself watching my friends’ body language when chatting.
@gromer-v8s me too! I have learned all of my sister's tells, and boy does this help in poker
@@GoodTrebleStudios You haven’t told her yet have you? 😂 Drinks are on you if not.
Absolutely. I was already looking for what was missing in the first clip before Chase called attention to one of those aspects. By that point,I already had a list. These guys are tops!
@@GoodTrebleStudios 😂 Don’t point these things out to her or you’ll probably get a reaction that there will be no room for speculation.
I’ve learnt so much from you guys! A few of the behaviours you analysed I noticed them too! 😊
Scott saying ‘I did it!’ after Chase’s monologue made me laugh😂
I JUST watched this interview.
Can’t wait to watch this!!!
I love your live videos!! Thanks for the education 🎉
I love the depth of knowledge in every episode. You guys are the best! Thank you for sharing with us!
OMG. He never shuts up. He couldn't hear her confess if she wanted to.
I know, I just wanted him to let her talk!!
LOL. My thoughts exactly. He should have to go through mandatory interrogation training after blowing this one.
God I love the dynamic of these four dudes. Such different, all interesting, viewpoints
Hey! I just realized! Congratulations on the new addition to your family!! 🍼👶🏼
