As someone who grew up in a house with more than a dozen exptic birds i can confirm that this is classic mating behavior.. poor beaker looks like hes about to talk and kiss his way into the friend zone but he will have plenty of chances seeing as it appears they are the only two ringnecks this lady owns.. Birds tend to have a love the one you're with mantra.. Within two years id bet the farm that this channel will feature little fluffy ringneck hatchlings.

Birds mating process begins with the production of hormones and there is an exchange of scents that are weak to humans but strong to them.. Both parties in the videos are past that stage and exhibiting all the right "dance moves" and postures which is the real make or break courtship phase of the mating ritual where the female either rejects or welcomes prospective males.. While Tinkerbell appears to be showing all the signs that she's ready perhaps she has shooed Beaker off in the past and made him apprehensive because they seem stuck in the dancing swans phase.. The other possibility is that they feel more comfortable mating when nobody is sticking a camera in their face.. I would not be at all surprised if they have been doing the deed late at night or in the nest box area when nobody is around.. "Tinkerbell looks very enthralled and vexed by Beakers "efforts". I honestly think that because beaker is in the teenager phase that he's probably just like that human male that just wants to hold hands, say "hi Tinkerbell" and kiss forever without making a move because its new and they don't quite know what to do. If you never told two teenagers what sex was and locked them in a space together, eventually they would just figure it out themselves.. Without Peers to learn from it might just take them a little longer. I have had mating pairs that produced many good eggs that I never once saw doing the deed.. Other pairs I have seen it from time to time but it happens quick with birds.. Not like the males put on any kind of show of endurance.. It can be less than 4-5 seconds and that's all you need for a clutch of babies. And I'm not saying that Beaker wouldn't learn much more rapidly if there were other pairs of the same species copulating around him and Tinkerbell but I guarantee he will figure it out on his own when he's good and ready and not a moment before.
