      If you only believe in yourself, you will never understand what you have to believe in. Believing, in what we want to become, to achieve true peace and satisfaction, that is the goal. The child does the same to be admired by his father. Man should do the same to be loved by God. Without getting too religious, which is out of place here.

    晩年の大山先生は膨大な館長業務と膝の故障などにより思うようなトレーニングが積めず全盛期のような蹴りが出せなかったと考えられます。

Choi young eui wanted to take kyokushin to Korea, but at that time, Tkd was also made in Korea and tkd was needed to be developed. so choi young eui didn't take kyokushin to Korea for success of his Motherland's martial art. and that's why 'Taekwon king' is typed in that video.

While although we also DON'T SEE IT in TKD but it seems that the quick spinning hips and flying acrobatic movement of mawashi kaiten geri has SOME LITTLE FLAVOR of TKD in it !

      It develop internally in Kyokushin, just like the Kubi Mawashi Geri or "Brazilian Kick". Both kicks only can be properly executed inside the Kyushin short "mawai". Both Taekwondo and Traditional karate mawai are too long to execute these kicks properly so it is unlikely they will come up with these kicks.

Oyama was teaching the Taekwondo guys his in and out movement you can see him going in and out around 0:35 and 0:45 and countering a kick by slipping and kicking during the retraction. at the time the guy was legit

    It's sad to see the nation of Korea didn't do anything for him while Oyama had to go through all the hardship in Japan and eventually became significant figure in Japan and all of sudden Korean media is trying to say he is Korean, his name is Choi instead of Oyama,,,, blah blah... I feel embarrassed and I am a Korean. Oyama had love for his home country so that he delayed the branch of KoKyushin dojon world wise to promote TKD for his love for home country. But now people are saying TKD this , and Oyama is Japanese, no he's Korean.. blah blah.. Mas Oyama was Korean JAPANESE period HE IS JAPANESE who made big difference in KARATE world. KOREA DIDN"T DO SHIT FOR HIM except letting him suffer as victim of war in Japan. That man stood himself up and built his legacy in Japanese. So, Im saying All the Koreans stfu. u don't share anthing in his life.

      hey Giant B, how stupid of u to generalize the country of Korea and the people in it. Korea abandoned him and he found his way of life in Japan. Even in his dojo, u still cant find a Korean flag but only Japanese flag. Here some facts for u: Sosai learned Karate and absorbed the karate spirit to strengthen himself then transform karate philosophy in the way he believed to create Kyokushin karate. All of his Kyokushin karate techniques came from original karate. He never mentioned about learning taekwondo.

    • @MaharlikaAWA
      @MaharlikaAWA 6 лет назад +5

      What is also stupid is why the Korean masters of Taekwondo did not take some of his knowledge and apply it to make Taekwondo a strong art. Why would you not explore leg kicks or the serious combative nature of martial arts?

    • @catskeleton9256
      @catskeleton9256 6 лет назад +6

      No Terry, I think you are probably a Japanese. Yes he wasn't treated well as he should in the beginning. However, if you consider the history of Korea, it wasn't easy for Koreans to accept someone practicing Karate and promoting it world wide. If wasn't long after Korea was freed from Japanese occupation. Many people suffered from it. You know why Korea had to come up with Taekwondo rather than just developing their own traditional martial arts? Do you know when there was an earthquake in Kwandong, Japan killed Koreans for it? Let me ask you this, if a Jewish man had learned Geman martial arts and promoted it, how do you think the rest of Jewish community would have accepted him? Over time, however, Koreans started understanding what kind of man he was, so they opened up more. The master Oyama also understood that as well, so he himself never blamed Korea or Koreans. You will understand if you know what his name 大山 倍達 really means. If he was alive today, do you think he would appreciate your comments about Koreans?

    60년대 ~ 70년대... 동양과 서양은 서로에 대한 이해부족에서 비롯된 상호간 환상에 젖어 있었습니다. 특히 이소룡을 통해 쌓인 동양무술에 대한 맹신이 극에 달해있었기에, 동양의 무술고수는 하늘을 날고 바위를 부수며 장풍을 쏠거라는 신비주의에 빠져 있었죠. 어설프게 배운 서양인들의 어색한 발차기를 보고 있노라면, 실소를 참기 어렵습니다.

    WTF kyorugi and kyokushin kumite are pretty similar rulesets; hands to the body, head kicks and back kicks to the body as the main KO techniques, etc. It's almost like WTF is the outside fighting version and kyokushin is the inside fighting version.
