    This product has been a godsend for my gray grow out process, however, any shade beyond the blonde ones DO transfer. I use medium brown and dark brown. They can get very messy, but I’ve learned how to deal with that issue. Still VERY much worth it!

    • @theMelissaJoyce

      That's good to know about the darker transfer Sheri. I've thought some times about growing out my naturally grey hair but I can't imagine how long it would take and how to deal with the very clear demarcation.

    I actually love the color coverage of this product and use it all the time. However, it does make my hair more sticky feeling and the color does come off on my fingers when I touch my hair. It also comes off on my pillowcase but does wash out well. I have dark brown hair and not only have gray roots to deal with but I’m also in my 50’s and my hair has started thinning. This product does a great job of masking thin areas with color so they don’t stand out. Overall I appreciate having this product as an option. Hanging on to our youth isn’t easy and a little help is nice.😃 I hope this helps if you are thinking of trying this product...

    I literally was just saying to myself yesterday that I just got my hair done about 3 weeks ago and there's already some grays popping in and it pops in the front. and I'm like I can't get my hair dyed again. So I literally just ran into this video and I'm happy I did because I've seen that L'Oreal root cover up and I didn't think that it would work so I will be going to pick that up this week from my local drug store. And also I just wanted to add that I have the same strip as you growing out and I actually did try to grow it out for two years. I wanted to grow it out and then dye around it so it would just have this one strip of gray hair. Yeah after two years, I was very patient and it was a lot of putting my hair up in ponytails but, it didn't work out. I ended up coloring it and cutting it. I said it'll turn white on its own but, great video thanks!

    I ❤❤❤ LOVE this soooooo much! I have dark brown hair and it truly does cover greys. I'm on my 2nd bottle, and my first one lasted ages (I only dye my hair once a year). It's faster and easier than powders, and you're right about it not getting on the skin. It does transfer on my pillowcase, but it comes out easily in the wash.

    • @theMelissaJoyce

    It worked for me. It's STIFF, though. I bought it bc Oprah said that sprays stain your skin, sticks don't. *DON'T USE TO STAIN SCALP!* LOL. I thought it would cover my ponytail lines, (it did) but I then had to wash it out IMMEDIATELY bc my shoulder-length hair had been shortened to a bob!! When someone invents a colored [spray] dry shampoo, it will be a joyous day! 💗

    Hello my fellow Canadian. This product is fantastic. I use the dark blonde as well and it does an amazing job covering up the white/grey. • @tamiam4367
    @tamiam4367 5 лет назад +1

    I “did” like it, been using it for a while I realized it does not have much product for price and a lot of air. But honestly it’s only 2 oz. so really a very costly item if you need to use everyday for a week or two. Doesn’t last 40 uses on roots if you have a bit( even less than you)! I think it last about 5 times. I think I’m going back to the liquid temp color from Sally’s a lot more cost effective. I don’t like the way it feels on my scalp either.

    • @theMelissaJoyce
      @theMelissaJoyce  5 лет назад

      I have since moved on to using a much cheaper option - brown powder products (contour or eyeshadow). I use a dense brush and pat it onto my roots and it helps cover the grey. Sometimes I spray a bit of dry shampoo or other product to give the powder something to "stick" to. It's a much cheaper option that I always have on hand.

      I still use this Cheryl but when this runs out I'll look for the one lighter shade. Basically this makes it look like I have slightly dark roots - which I like better than grey roots - but it would be nice to get a better match for my hair. It's a good product in my opinion.

    I did see red at Walmart. Actually it was bright auburn! I forgot to shake it when i applied it. I thought it came out pretty strong gush when i pressed on nozzle, wishing i had a little more control on the way it sprayed out, like when you apply hair spray...a softer spray. Other than that, it worked very well!

      Rita Hazan is awesome. It even lasts through a hair wash for me. The only thing I don’t like about it is the residue it leaves on your hair. I had a can last over two years. I do color my hair every 4 weeks though. I don’t know how this girl goes two months or more.

  • @Cissy2cute

    Glad you liked it; I hated it. Sprayed it all over the place, almost in my eyes. I had left a negative review of it on a website and the manufacturer after that put up a short video on how to use it! LOL Guess I just didn't do it right. As far as coverage, I am closest to a 9G. It tried to match it but the greys were still showing through and if I sprayed it more than once or twice it became sticky and quite obvious. I'll stick to the powder cover ups.

    • @theMelissaJoyce
      @theMelissaJoyce  6 лет назад

      I"m so sorry it didn't work for you. It could also be that different shades are better or worse than others. Which kind of powder cover up do you use or recommend?

    • @Cissy2cute
      @Cissy2cute 6 лет назад

      I used John Frieda root blur and it seemed to do nothing for my hair. But at least it was easier to control than the spray. I am currently looking for another concealer. I notice that Clairol has come out with a powder recently so am going to give that a try. Watch out for the price--it should be only around $9.99. I've noticed that some are trying to sell it at double that amount. My roots are in that in-between stage of being obvious yet not enough to warrant a visit to the salon as yet. Part of my problem may be that my roots consist of grey (almost white) roots but still intermingle with some natural dark brown hairs. Plus my blonde is mixed by my colorist and she fine tweaks the color, unlike boxed at home shades. Salon coloring is the only luxury I allow myself ;)

    So, how did it wash out... did it come out completely? And does the spray color the little bit of showable skin where your part is? I have brown hair, and I've thought about using something like this for my roots, but I'm worried that with brown hair, it would be obvious I'd done something if that little strip of skin ended up getting colored, also.

    • @theMelissaJoyce
      @theMelissaJoyce  7 лет назад +2

      It does wash out completely in the next wash - I haven't had any issue with that. It doesn't seem to stick to skin - I didn't find that it looked unnatural in any way. I never saw it on the skin of my scalp where my hair was parted or on my forehead when I was getting my roots. It's a bit more on the subtle side than the harsh side - which I like!
