Bravo! Finally, we can say that this is a worthy successor to the fantastic model of its predecessor XDJ-XZ. I hope that the XDJ-AZ model will be as reliable and trouble-free in its operation as its predecessor XDJ-XZ model was.
Finally. I've been waiting for this since the cdj 3000 came out. I'm definitely buying one. Only thing missing is an actual key shift button on the unit!
Great unit! Only observation analysis is Hot Cues should have been exactly like CDJ 3000s at the top for an exact workflow replica of CDJ 3000s.. Next is a key synch button +- should have been incorporated on the physical unit and not just the screen. Lastly should have USBc as an extra option in conjunction with regular USB for device plug in. Stems would also be another great thing to incorporate. My humble but accurate opinion. However love the machine! Will wait until after NAMM 2025 and Serato support to see more and possible functionality with new firmware.
I’m not ready yet, but I think this is the future. I’m a mobile guy still enjoying my srt1000, but I know the day will come. As a mobile guy I couldn’t imagine not running my srt through an external mixer. The mics and the unit itself just can’t handle the sound I drive through it at events. Until I know I can ditch the external mixer because a unit can handle the sound etc. I’m probably not upgrading.
It looks too similar to my current XZ unit. I would definitely consider upgrading if the performance pads were moved up to match my additional CDJ3000.
Hello! I've been a Traktor user since 2012 using controllers. Kept it mainly because of all the mapping capabilities. However now I'm wanting to reenter the club scenes, and with pioneer still being the standard, I was interested in getting either the DJM A9 and two CDJ 3000s or this XDJ AZ. I know it seems weird to run traktor software using such high quality hardware like the A9 and 3000, but I want to get comfortable with the pioneer layouts while still retaining my mappings for my two AH K2s and two F1 Kontrols. I had heard from people that if I run the software like that, I would lose a lot of the capabilities of the pioneer hardware, both the mixer and the CDJ. How much of that is true? Will the options, effects, buttons, etc be pretty much one to one with the software, or will there be several things that I can't do on the hardware because it's not 100% compatible but it is for recordbox? And lastly, how much do you lose between the new XDJ AZ vs the DJM A9 with two CDJ 3000s? I know it's a big price difference, but if you go stand alone, do you lose a lot of functionality, especially if I plan on connecting it to my laptop (I'm presuming they'll support traktor on the AZ soon)? For those who have experience, is it worth the investment to buy the standalone items and match it with my software, or do I hang tight and get the all-in-one and hope my software is supported at a later date?
Thank you! Our products have not been branded as “Pioneer” since 2014. Both the “Pioneer DJ” brand and “AlphaTheta” brand will continue to co-exist moving forward, and developed by the same engineers and product developers as they always have before.
Ye but you bringing Pioneer products rebranded by your new brand very nasty move I think.. If you wanted to bring something diferent with other brand...fair enough... but you bring same Pioneer products but with your name on.....
When using rekordbox in performance mode with this unit, do you retain the functionality of the on board display or say the ability to use functions like link cue?
All features available from day 1, or will it be the same as with the Opus?.... Still no Beatport integration possible via wifi directly into the console.... 😮
Please update in short cut options in a next firmware more than 5 touch & release effects. I always use this physical button on my XZ, it's more accurate than a virtual button in short cut. It was almost perfect.. so I will stay with my XDJ XZ for now.
Is it pricey though? Two CDJ 3000s and an A9, with a 10.1" screen effectively, for £2800 in the UK. Outside my budget but I'd buy it if I were a professional.
Yo Pio/AlphaTheta, two questions: - Can we know what CPU model is in the XDJ AZ? Is it future proof enough to playback future prestemmed tracks with the proper firmware updates? - The other one is: Is the top 2 USB drives support NVMe Drives? I kinda don't want to use an USB, but an external drive, but I know it takes up more power.
kind of pricey but definately listened to the community with this one. it would be nice if you guys can focus a bit on the rekordbox stems, team up with Serato they really nailed it. I wonder if this release means there is a cdj 4000 on the way 🤔....great release with this one 🔥
Espero que essa não seja problematica igual opus Quad , comprei uma opus chegou com problema desliga sozinha e ninguém quer trocar e ne suporte técnico
So sorry to hear and we appreciate your patience. Do you try turning off standby mode? My default, all our units power down into standby mode when not in use for a long time. Did you create a ticket to our support team?
While our DJ products haven't been branded as "Pioneer" since 2014, the XDJ-AZ is in fact developed by the same engineers and product developers from the last 30 years of Pioneer DJ releases.
Will the new AZ be compatible with CDJ-NXS2? Will AZ be compatible with original Device Library or only Device Library Plus? (Remember Both CDJ-NXS2 and CDJ-3000 do NOT use Device Library Plus)
It will work. Because the original device library is also stored on the usb drive, the older CDJs will pull from the older library. The limitations will be the phase meter and the load times on the older player.
Your units are controllers. You could use them to control deck 3 and 4 for DJ software. In standalone, you will need actual multipleplayer decks or vinyl turntables.
Currently, the only method to use stem separation is to use DJ software like rekordbox or Serato. The XDJ-AZ is capable of running DJ software and allow some stem control on the pads. But if you wish to have dedicate stem functions, we recommend using our latest DJ controllers like the DDJ-FLX10, DDJ-REV7, DDJ-REV5, and DDJ-GRV6 for creative manipulation of stems.
Does it support vinyl DVS? If not I'm going to save shed loads and get me DJM-250! DVS vinyl is the only function worth having if you are a turntablist! I bought RX3 but luckily sold it quickly and didn't loose that much money!
@PioneerDJUSA Thanks. I will go ahead and purchase a DJM-250-MK2 as it has vinyl DVS built in and it's a fraction of the cost of AZ. I am a turntablist, though I do take Rekordbox USB to gigs as a lot of venues don't put Technics out anymore!
@PioneerDJUSA I do the occasional bit of scratching in my sets, however I don't really need the hot cues needed for battle! I am an old skool UK vinyl rave DJ, so I just need to control my digital library with vinyl DVS! I guess with the DJM-250-MK2 I just plug my Rekordbox USB into my laptop and use the Rekordbox app to drag and drop to my right and left turntable channels, right?
3 questions… 1 No stems yet? I guess no? 2 Does the 2nd usb port have the ability to record like on the RX3? I guess no? 3 is this suitable to take to a club to use with a void or function1 sound system or are all in one systems still a bit lacking in quality over a dedicated mixer like the 900 nexus 2 or the newer A9?
Currently on our all-in-one DJ systems, stems can only be achieved through DJ software. You can use them when using rekordbox in performance mode or Serato DJ Pro (available in December). If you wish to use a unit with dedicated stem controls, we recommend the following from our DJ controller series: DDJ-FLX10 DDJ-REV7 DDJ-GRV6 DDJ-REV5
The USB ports can be recorded on. And unlike the XDJ-XZ, you can record on either USB A port. You can select which drive in the mixer settings. As for being suitable in clubs with a high resolution sound system, the XDJ-AZ is equipped with ESS Technology 32-bit foating point A/D D/A converters, just like what is equipped on professional DJ mixers like the DJM-A9, DJM-V10, DJM-S11, and euphonia. . This expands the dynamic range lowering the noise floor and increase the headroom which is suitable for large venues with large sound systems.
Currently, stem separation is achievable only through the use of DJ software like rekordbox and Serato. Because the XDJ-AZ is an all-in-one, it can be used a DJ controller for DJ software. Please note, Serato will be available in December. If you wish to use a unit with dedicated stem controls, please check out the following from our DJ controller line: DDJ-FLX10 DDJ-REV7 DDJ-REV5 DDJ-GRV6
Stems can be used with performance DJ software like rekordbox. However, if you wish to have dedicated stems functions on a professional unit, we recommend the DDJ-FLX10.
Hey Pioneer... I was waiting so many years for this but please do something with the price in Greece. Everything you sell here is more expensive than Germany or other countries. 3.199 Euro! Really?
Hello, we apologize for the inconvenience. This channel is moderated by the USA office. For questions regarding your region, please contact our office at AlphaTheta EMEA listed on this page: www.pioneerdj.com/en/company/corporate-contact-details/
I’m upset with the launch. My unit as well as other’s are experiencing crashes out of the box regardless of what settings we’re on, if we’re using a USB, rekordbox export link (wifi or directly), or through beatport. It doesn’t matter, it will still crash/shut down at some point during the session. When can we expect a fix? If there isn’t some kind of firmware update to fix the crashing within one week, I’ll have to bring this back to the shop for refund, and I have a feeling others may follow the same route. Something as expensive as this shouldn’t be behaving like this out of the box. Imagine if I had to take this to a gig, it would be a mess and disaster. As of now, my laptop and a DDJ 1000 is way more reliable and has never crashed on any of my sessions.
We apologize for the inconvenience. We would like to help with your unit. Would you mind creating a support ticket with the provided link so one of our product specialists can assist with your issue? We'll give them a heads up as well. Here is the link: www.pioneerdj.com/en/support/contact/
Yes you can. With DJ software like rekordbox and Serato, you can always add additional CDJs to control deck 3 and 4 through HID mode. rekordbox allows HID mode through Pro DJ LINK, with only one USB connection from one device to the computer. With Serato, you will need a USB hub with connections to each CDJ. Please note that Serato DJ Pro support for the XDJ-AZ will be released in December.
Our DJ products have not been branded as “Pioneer” since 2014. Both the “Pioneer DJ” brand and “AlphaTheta” brand will continue to co-exist moving forward, and developed by the same engineers and product developers as they always have before.
Hello BG. As we mentioned in the previous comment, both brands will continue to co-exist moving forward. We have released Pioneer DJ gear this year along side our AlphaTheta branded products.
loop in and out buttons small tool away so many ins and outs like the send for the djs 10 to 1 people will put skinz on this withj pioneer dj on it and why not have hardwhere pad fx already not intovating at all
Below is a list some of the upgrades and new features on the XDJ-AZ that were not on the XDJ-XZ. - CDJ-3000 style mechanical jog wheels - CDJ-3000 style LCD jog display - DJM-A9 style beat fx channel select buttons - Deck Select for control of deck 3 and 4 without CDJs - SonicLink low-latency wireless headphone integration - 4 additional pad modes - key shift and key sync - dedicated beat jump and beat loop buttons - smart cue - gate cue - built-in WiFi - StreamDirectPlay (Beatport) - CloudDirectPlay - Link Export Mode over WiFi - record to either USB A port
Why end the brand Pioneer Dj ? These people don’t have a ❤? If you wanted to bring a sister brand i can understand. But just regrading the same producs and ideais to other name was very sad for Pioneer dj lovers...
The XDJ-AZ was developed by the same engineers and product developers that are behind all Pioneer DJ products. The AlphaTheta brand and Pioneer DJ brand will continue to co-exist moving forward.
Lets hope a new flagship CDJ comes out real soon . This xdj-az should have had 3 screens and 64bit sound quality and more options for streaming services .
The XDJ-AZ has 32-bit A/D D/A converters, just like professional DJ mixers like the DJM-A9, euphonia, and DJM-V10. This allows for great headroom, lower noise, while maintaining consistent audio quality with no distortion at any volume level.
Will we no longer see products under the Pioneer brand? Or will this now be the worst product line? Why bury a world-famous brand with a big influence in the club scene and good reputation?
Pioneer DJ products will continue to co-exist with AlphaTheta products. Both brands’ products are created by the same engineers and product developers and will continue to be the case. Earlier this year, two products were released under the Pioneer DJ brand along side the AlphaTheta releases.
Finally!!! This is exactly what we have been asking For!!!!
For real
I was about to buy XZ. This is the best announcement of the year! Love it ❤
Bravo! Finally, we can say that this is a worthy successor to the fantastic model of its predecessor XDJ-XZ.
I hope that the XDJ-AZ model will be as reliable and trouble-free in its operation as its predecessor XDJ-XZ model was.
PJ the DJ strikes again!
I got 2 cdj3000's with a dim 900 nexus2, but this is tempting to trade it in for this. I like the convience of being able to take this around
Wow. I sold my 3000’s and the 900nxs2 and was thinking of getting the XZ, but damn, this thing is the next level. Definitely going to be my next rig
Finally. I've been waiting for this since the cdj 3000 came out. I'm definitely buying one. Only thing missing is an actual key shift button on the unit!
Thank you for bringing gated momentary hot cues back to standalones!! 🎉

This is a beautiful DJ system!

Wow I love this!
The only thing we need left from yous is good quality stems and most importantly we need a firmware update with stems on the screen. 😊❤
The most recent rekordbox version release has improved stem quality.
When using rekordbox in performance mode with this unit, do you retain the functionality of the on board display or say the ability to use functions like link cue?
All features available from day 1, or will it be the same as with the Opus?.... Still no Beatport integration possible via wifi directly into the console.... 😮
Beatport is available at launch for the XDJ-AZ.
Great system but 1 question: Is with Master Tempo on, the same as on the CDJ 3000? So with the improved sound quality/artefacts?
The time stretch quality matches the CDJ-3000. From the Master Tempo’s keylock to the key shifting capabilities.
I wish i had enough gigs to invest in this beauty 😢😢
Please update in short cut options in a next firmware more than 5 touch & release effects. I always use this physical button on my XZ, it's more accurate than a virtual button in short cut. It was almost perfect.. so I will stay with my XDJ XZ for now.
Smashed it
If you guys able to do a video on lighting & pyro tech on the XDJ-AZ,please do,i am are very much looking forward to it..
Maybe I missed something. Does it have built in stem buttoms for just vocals, drums etc...?
Thank you
Very nice! 🔥

I know stems features are part of Serato Dj Pro, that’s the only missing piece. But the AZ is going to be the best standalone DJ controller.
this is the best

Have you checked out the latest rekordbox update and the new stem quality?
Awesome 🔥
Since there is no built-in SSD, can an SSD drive be connected via USB-C?
You can plug an SSD on the top USB-A port using a USB C to A cable. Most USB SSD's come with both cables.
Okay AT cooked with this one !! Fkn teared up ngl
Can I analyse the tracks on the controller?
Like when a friend has music on a stick but didnt use rekordbox - am I able to use that stick too?
Yes the XDJ-AZ allows you to analyze on board the unit.
It would be cool with a rotary kit or a rotary version
Looks so much like a Pioneer
While our DJ products haven't been branded as "Pioneer" since 2014, the XDJ-AZ is in fact developed by the same engineers and product developers from the last 30 years of Pioneer DJ releases.
Can you advise if tje crossfader is a magvel fader from yhe djm models? Or if its not are they compatible?
The crossfader is not the Magvel or Magvel Pro crossfader. However, it is a smooth fader like the one on the OPUS-QUAD.
Hii am chiru from india when is the lunching in india and what about the price
Can analyze music on the spot? If so, how u can do that?
Pioneer gone clear 💯wooooiiiiii 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
my only question is will this fit in the odyssey low profile flight case? I am hoping if I sell my XZ I wont have to sell the case as well...
Because of the extended screen size, it will not fit in an XDJ-XZ case.
Is it actually 4-Deck standalone? Or do you need to connect to rekordbox like the XZ?
The XDJ-AZ is capable of controlling all 4 decks. You can toggle deck 3 and 4 with the deck select buttons. More info at 4:19
Will the new AZ be compatible with CDJ-NXS2? Will AZ be compatible with original Device Library or only Device Library Plus? (Remember Both CDJ-NXS2 and CDJ-3000 do NOT use Device Library Plus)
It will work. Because the original device library is also stored on the usb drive, the older CDJs will pull from the older library. The limitations will be the phase meter and the load times on the older player.
DL+ is best to be left on from now on so that your usb stick works in any unit(old or new generation). Once in you never need to think about it.
so i understand it has 4 decks but can i add for example my two rane 12s as decks 3 and 4 as hardware?
Your units are controllers. You could use them to control deck 3 and 4 for DJ software. In standalone, you will need actual multipleplayer decks or vinyl turntables.
will it be able to play from usb and rekordbox dj simultaneously ?
Yes. On all AlphaTheta and Pioneer DJ all-in-one DJ systems, you can easily play back to back with DJ software and standalone.
What about “Stems”?? No option for “Stem Seperation”?
Currently, the only method to use stem separation is to use DJ software like rekordbox or Serato. The XDJ-AZ is capable of running DJ software and allow some stem control on the pads. But if you wish to have dedicate stem functions, we recommend using our latest DJ controllers like the DDJ-FLX10, DDJ-REV7, DDJ-REV5, and DDJ-GRV6 for creative manipulation of stems.
Waiting for xdj Rx4
Does it support vinyl DVS? If not I'm going to save shed loads and get me DJM-250! DVS vinyl is the only function worth having if you are a turntablist! I bought RX3 but luckily sold it quickly and didn't loose that much money!
@PioneerDJUSA Thanks. I will go ahead and purchase a DJM-250-MK2 as it has vinyl DVS built in and it's a fraction of the cost of AZ. I am a turntablist, though I do take Rekordbox USB to gigs as a lot of venues don't put Technics out anymore!
@@PioneerDJUSA I am more of a mix DJ than a scratch battle DJ!
Oh ok! You mentioned you were a turntablist so a battle mixer would have been our first recommendation.
Hello, our apologies for the incorrect info. The XDJ-AZ is in fact DVS capable!
3 questions…
1 No stems yet?
If you wish to use a unit with dedicated stem controls, we recommend the following from our DJ controller series:
DDJ-FLX10
DDJ-REV7
DDJ-GRV6
DDJ-REV5
@@PioneerDJUSA thanks for the reply. What about the other 2 questions?
@@DUSTYUKthis one will be good on VOID / F1 for sure.
@@DUSTYUKin the video he said usb records to 2x ports this time also 👌
The USB ports can be recorded on.
Can I quantize ddj 1000 with AZ like it was possible in XZ?
If you mean the DJS-1000, yes you can sync the tempo through Pro DJ LINK. Same rules apply as before.
When it's gonna arrive in the Netherlands ? ASAP please
Please contact our Europe team or your local dealers for latest info on shipment.
Is it bigger than xdj xz for about size and dimention?
The body is the same but the display adds additional length. Depending on how deep your case goes, there needs to be clearance for the display.
No dual headphones?
buying this 100%
Can i trade in my xdjrx3???
Is there support for stem separation?
Currently, stem separation is achievable only through the use of DJ software like rekordbox and Serato. Because the XDJ-AZ is an all-in-one, it can be used a DJ controller for DJ software. Please note, Serato will be available in December. If you wish to use a unit with dedicated stem controls, please check out the following from our DJ controller line:
DDJ-FLX10
DDJ-REV7
DDJ-REV5
DDJ-GRV6
Where are the pioneer labels ??
Hello, thank you for this amazing presentation. Is there an automix with CFX transition feature please ?
It takes less to fly a JetFighter 😁
Stems integrated???? Yes or no?😊
Stems can be used with performance DJ software like rekordbox. However, if you wish to have dedicated stems functions on a professional unit, we recommend the DDJ-FLX10.
When xdj az will launch in india?
Please check with your local stores to get the latest information on shipment.

Lmao if you bought an xz. Yikes , that’s all I’ll say. I feel sorry for you g.
