Hello booboo
Or just eat healthy 😂
no
Never knew they had a 425hp 396
Absolutely! Strange how they are in the elements roting away when they should at least be in a barn or shed.
It never ceases to amaze me how magnificent cars can be left is such messed up condition. SO GLAD you are saving these, bless you.
Until the mid '80s or so, these classics were just old, worn out, used cars. It was a lot different back then. My dad had a very very early '65 Mustang which would today be a '64 1/2' that he bought new. He _gave it away in 1973_ because he had replaced the transmission twice already and was fed up. He had a '57 Sunliner too...just sold it one day for a few hundred in the mid '60s. It was a PITA to keep the top lid working so he got rid of it. Different times for sure.
I live in Australia , And I drive regularly past a HX GTS Monaro , that is sitting up to her axles in the ground, windows down no windscreen ... And it breaks my heart , I just know if you approached the guy about buying it he would say "i am going to do it up one day".. Easily a 100k + car BUT would take 80K+ to fix it up .. Breaks my heart .. One day i may just have to stop and ask ...
Nice job Dennis! A lot of people would have walked away from them but you gave the two Vetts a second chance ❤
its about making money, dennis got a great deal,so he bought them, dont pat him on his back to hard!!!lol
@@yeahright302 by the same token, what ethical quandry does Dennis present with what he does? Seems to me a lot of people are jealous of a lot of other people, and they need to say stuff like this. I have paid _more_ than the asking price for classic collector cars because I knew the price was too light. And I see nothing wrong with Dennis getting a great deal on those two raving pieces of shit.
Thank everyone. Hey Dennis when you are done with the Vetts. I bet there a guy his initials are RH who might be interested!!!
@@bbb462cid no i dont blame him at all,but the guy @jeffmachul9562 makes dennis sound like a saint for buying these shit boxes.dennis is there to buy and sell and make money!!!
Second chance as being parted out lol
1965 Vette with a L78 396 425 horse. Very rare and worth big money.
So glad you save these Corvettes, they are a national treasure in my opinion, thanks Dennis and gang!
They really are!
Very sad to see the corvette in that condition. Thank you for saving any and all older cars.
Here in Spokane WA we were home to a popular rather rough field find 63 corvette last driven in the 70's I believe. It was parked in the driveway since. Last driven in the snow he installed snow tires. Never touched and wouldn't sell.
His comment "these are rougher than a stucco bathtub" is a golden expression I'll look to use haha
@@kdsboosted4954 they never do as im sure this guy bought them when the old fck died!
Ye, they look s ok cool, even in rough condition . Great way to make a living. I imported a lot of Corvette s in the mid 80s to 90s. Met some great people along the way. It got to expensive to keep going, miss those days.all the best to him.Nick Melbourne Australia
Damm Dennis. I would love to do what you do to rescue these beautiful automobiles. Hat off to you my brother ❤
Funny thing. I live in Rockport. I saw this coupe sitting there the other day while riding my motorcycle. I thought, I should stop there and tell them they should call Dennis. Then this episode pops up! I wish I would have known Dennis was coming down to Rockport, I have a 65 L78(396) that I was thinking of selling. Mine is #'s matching
My hood also
Nice rescue.. I am really happy these cars are getting a new lease of life and will be handled and taken care by Dennis. Wish more such rescues and restoration takes place and bring all these timeless classics back to their original glory
Blows my mind dennis 's encyclopaedic knowledge...the research he must do. Not to mention the work they do. And we aint seeing the work in the restorations...amazing stuff...hats off to dennis and his whole team
Thanks for another great show = picks and shovels!!!! So glad you are doing this and saving 2 corvettes that need saving. If you did not make this trip, visit and explore and make this effort, I do not think these cars would be saved. Love what you do!!!!
I live in Australia , And I drive regularly past a HX GTS Monaro , that is sitting up to her axles in the ground, windows down no windscreen ... Thank You Professor...😊 so much credit to you and team for rescuing these historic cars.
Second segment reminds me of a farm owned by Robert Zylstra. Owner of Zylstra Harley Davidson. Every building on the place (including the house) has been abandoned and falling in. Every building (including the house) is also full of old corvette parts.
Nothing better than mouse and squirrel poop-covered, priceless, picks and shovels Corvette parts
Mr.Collins ,
It would be great to see the finished restoration of these great cars ! It’s a step back to my teen years and the same for many many other of your viewers 24:45 .
A good episode. Sure was a cool stash of parts and I am looking forward to seeing an episode on the 72-76 Corvettes. The small block, AC, side pipe car will make an excellent car to drive someday.
Loved it when Scott Hall came in to pay Dennis a compliment
Just a little story, my boss who owned the plating shop would build a car every couple of years, he built a coffin car, a teaky tee, him and his partner both built 32 Ford Sedans, no fenders or hoods, they chopped and channeled them, they built the frames by hand, put Jag rearends in them , with the little driveshafts on each side all chrome plated, they had twin turbo charged 390`s, with monster chrome exaust they made by hand and I helped them both, every day they would give me a project to do each day, some days I just made brackets, and drilled holes in them for the framework. They painted both of them candy apple red with goldleaf pin stripes, monster meats on the back, with spoked wheels up front, they made a sunroof out of smoked black lexon from the front all the way back and curved to roll right into where the back window was, of course it was late 70`s, the interiors were like a crushed velvet red and gold combo, all they had was an arc welder a bansaw and a couple grinders, every piece was made by hand, this guy was a real life George Barris and he lived right around the block from me, I worked at his plating shop for about 10 years in my late teens early 20`s, they both ended up selling the cars so they could finace another project, I think they only got about $10,000 apiece back then, I have never seen either car again, it`s been about 40 years, I keep an eye out at Barret Jackson and Mecum, but nope never seen them again. I mean this guy was the Chip Foose of the 70`s, he would vision it, and build it all by hand.
I know other people rescue cars, but most specialize in a specific model. What makes DC so special, is he will not only rescue these lost time capsules, but make sure they breathe life once again. Really appreciate the update segments Zach! What program do you use to edit?
Can’t wait to see those Corvettes restored .
That tri-power set up was the home run!!!
Got one in my basement
Sweet, have one on my 67 Vette 😄
Yes it was beautiful
This is one video I could have sat and watched for two hours,I love the picking aspect of it, I am sure had y'all dug through more you could have found some real treasures,I wanted to watch you going through the rest of that shed, so many usable parts you could use in the future.
Hopefully you put up a full video of you going through the rest of the junk yard.
I have the same 67 conv. I purchased in 1968 shortly after I left the Navy.
I watch all your videos and especially enjoy when you rescue the C2 Vettes and give them a new life.
It sickened me to see the condition of these 2 but I know you and your team of experts will restore them to perfection to be loved and driven again by a new owner.
God bless y'all for the work you do.
Regards, Jon.
Dennis always finds the best cars to restore can’t wait to see these gems back on the road.
would love to see these cars during restoration.
Now that was a great Coffey walk glade to see the picks and shovels out again that tripower was a grande slame ❤
Dennis those cars are legends here in South Africa you will pay an arm and leg for them cheers
I have a feeling The Butter Churn was a subpar buffet LOL
Thought same. Worst food seen on coffee walk.
Your both dead wrong., It's locally owned home cooking with an amazing salad bar.
@@stevenreynolds2327 it looked generic out of a can bland.. typical buffet food. And they didnt have much to say about it. It was a pretty short segment of the video compared to all the others lol
I live here, I know the owners, I have been in the kitchen more times than I can count.
Ill never convince you of anything, but it is actual home cooking. Is it on par for a millionaire like Dennis, maybe not, but it seats around 500 and you be hard pressed to get a seat during prime time. That says something.
@@stevenreynolds2327How is it Home cooking if it's made in a restaurant ??😂😂
Enjoy the updates always great to see what happens after the fact
Great to rescue iconic American sports car
Great effort,time, money
Hats off👍🌹
Breaks my heart to see those Vette's in that condition. Glad you scooped them up and will give them a proper restoration
These cars will take time and effort to get back on the road thankfully Dennis has the connections in the car hobby that will see both cars in the right hands for them to return to their former glory....great video I'm looking forward to the next video from this property ....keep saving these awesome pieces of auto history...Karl from eastern Canada
Awesome find two GREAT Corvettes on the way to being restored and back on the road for someone else to love .
The interesting thing is my memory allows me to smell it again while I watch thinking of days past foraging in barns like that years ago! Thanks!
DC ! you should make a new channel, where we can follow the process of these cars coming back to life !!
The editing of Coffee work is OUTSTANDING...this is the best car show by far.....
I know you have seen it in the red BB car. The birdcage at the "B" pillar is toast. That is a serious problem and there may well be more.
Serious as two heart attacks at once. Can be done though. But you're 100% correct.
I wanted to cry when they showed the first Corvette.
What a find couldn’t believe all the stuff in the barn. Hell yeah just a man for the job. Love y’all.
Man I love barn searching! Thanks Dennis and gang .
Good, you did good, glad to see these wonderful Vettes saved. They are going to a good home I'm sure.
These are the kind of restorations I like to see start to finish.
Amazing find! Already pumped to watch these two gems restore to former glory.
Having a tough day
Thank God for coffee walk!
Not only are you finding nice old classic cars you are also finding great places to eat.i can see you enjoying finding great projects
Just purchased a 1990 Wrangler YJ in great shape and rust free. Runs great with a 3” lift. It’s a little difficult to get in for me (I’m and old guy) and I’m looking for some side steps. Need to find some new carpet and rubber mats. This is your fault and I thank you for it. Enjoying the channel. Tks for sharing.
Amazed you just keep finding this stuff and the place you got the prts from, wow!!
I’m glad Dennis has come to the rescue..Those cars need to be revived..Wow what a find❤️❤️
First the tornado hit, then the wildfire. Thankful the flood put out the fire. Then we let let dry out in the sun for ten years. Saved yes but barely.
Crazy that Dennis found it while there was anything left to save.
Great to see you guys back out there saving rusty gold. I guess these are the other two Corvettes that Richard heard about. Alex is going to be busy 💪🛠️
Reminds me of hidden corvette chop shop!!! Engines hidden in crates for shipping!!
Both Vets are in sad shape but good bones to both of them. Congrats Dennis for the awesome finds, keep it up…
To say these cars are rough is an understatement. 😮
Man that is some toasted gold there Dennis, great to see those second generations being rescued! Thanks for posting! Signed Happy Subscriber
Always a treat
Love the corvettes and the AMC jeeps
I wonder how many people have stopped and tried to buy the Corvette sitting right off the road.
Then again, not many people would even think about tackling a project like that.
I'd love to have the red 396/425 car if it has the original engine, or even a year correct 425hp engine.
The 396/375 engines ran hard, but the 425hp 396 engines were a beast.
Would love to see these Corvettes restored
Another outstanding find Dennis don't know how you do it😊
Looks like the remnants of a classic chop shop. LOL
So gratifying to see 2 classics get another lease on life.
Looks like an old school chop shop and you are picking up what’s left over
Amazing the amount of cars and parts still out there❤
Surely carpeting the forks the forklift would be better for the underside of the vehicles. There must be some sort of rubber you could wrap the forks in.
Awesome episode by the way. Best in a while. A full length episode with two different locations and an update at the end is a winning formula.
Carpeting would just snag on things.
Dennis Collins for President!
Rick Harrison and Dennis Collins together , what a treat 👍🏻
You beat me to it. I was wondering if I was the only one that thought that? 😄
so stupid comment all fat bald guys dont look a like!!
Thank God someone is keeping these vets alive.!!! Update was great too!
Great show again today folks!!!!! Keep up the good work!!!!!
Thanks for what you do to bring them back. to life
Great find !
Get it back on the road please !
I Would Love what you do restoring those cars.
Wow those poor vettes! But i know they will be fully restored!
Thanks for throwing in the Jeeps at the end of….. yuuusssss
Dennis Coffee walk is on the hunt this is very cool.
Watch it Dennis, those boys are packin. This is like being in a candy store for Dennis when you were 7 yrs old. Tri power intake and carbs w/ aircleaner just sitting in a loft, Dennis is buying everything the boys can carry. I worked at a plating shop in my teens, I can`t even count how many of those Vette bumpers we replated and ignition covers and finned Vette valve covers and air cleaner lids we did, too many to count, we polished and buffed all the stainless steel trim, we plated all the brass knock offs, you name it, we could plate brass steel and aluminum. Every day I would get there early and remove something from under my hood and plate it, I had a mint 79 Black Grand prix, I did the valve covers, the radiator cover, the air cleaner, the master cylinder top, if I could unscrew it, I chrome plated it, boy what a mistake, it was a nightmare to keep clean. Just looking at those parts brings back so many memories. Dennis I did not know a 425 hp 396 existed, I thought 375 horse was top dog, LS6? Is it true it was actually a 402 ci, but GM thought 396 ci sounded better, that`s what I heard. Love the videos, keep em coming
I never heard of a 425/396 either. Also I`ve heard 396`s were 402`s as well.
L-78 396/425 horse was 1965 only, and in Corvettes and full size Chevrolet's. 1965 Chevelle Z-16 was basically the same engine except with a hydraulic cam ( 375 hp). The later L-78's ( 66-69) were rated at 375 hp, but was the same engine, just different exhaust, distributor & air cleaners, for the different model applications. The 396 grew to 402 for the 1970-1972 year models.
Yikes! Why chop up a split window and chuck it up in the loft?
I would be worried....
you know why😂
Nice to see this show, regards from Spain!
Updates are always enjoyed
It's Corvette Winter!
How much do you think he paid per Car? I'm thinking $10,000-15,000 each? I believe you can buy a complete running version in fair-good condition for $50,000-75,000.
Mr Collins ☺️ Good Afternoon love watching your show
. Love all the old school cars. Looking for a 1965 GTO. Nice Corvette .
The afternoon drag could be because not waiting long enough in the morning before caffeine. Dr. Huberman suggests waiting 90-120 minutes after waking up before coffee. That will prevent the afternoon crash.
Another great show this week thanks
Four and quarter horse with 3/4 cam and hush flush muffers 😂
I think they are in Aransas County Texas.
Wooow the jeep looks great
so RUclips has commercials and you ad one in your stream. Thanks.
Outstanding find. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the cars
These cars are just absolutely amazing. What I wouldn’t do to have the opportunity for one of the greatest muscle cars and Chevy history.
love the mid year treasure...
"Mom" still lookin' good!
These Vettes are what you'd call rougher than a pinecone buttplug, but still very cool to see saved!
Great program Dennis 🤓
That was cool finding that intake
love them corvettes...
Mid year Vette coupes are on my bucket list. I'd have to get into one that is a bit roached, but dang, these are really roached. But, they deserve to be saved.
Did you learn anything my friend? 72 through 74 chevys and 80s z28 irocs and formula firebirds.
Here in the Silicone Valley, what's even rarer than cars like that are restaurants that do American style country cooking.
If you need jeep or amc parts you need to talk to walley jeeps. It’s in Kenosha Wisconsin. That dude had almost everything.
