I don't know if the other Caribbean island use "Eggs " in their recipe..but in T&T granny don't put egg in or on their sweetbread. Nevertheless your looks very nice.

I always mix lemon or lime juice with sugar and brush it on the top and put it back in the oven for five minutes....that is what my grandmother did.
My granny taught me to use the same soaked fruits from de black cake, in de sweet bread. It is so good!!!!

Old school sweet bread does not have eggs. Also it just got raisins. Good job though
True true...raisins and a little mixed/citrus peel..I get turned off by the whole lot of coloured fruit in it and then covered on top😟

For some reason mine don't come out golden brown enough.
3/4 cups is 6oz not 4oz. Please clarify since this would have an effect in the texture when ppl follow the recipe.
