    Wonderful tutorial...!!! Almost every time I saw or sought how to knit a sideways shawl, the majority of tutorials online show only the beginning and not how it ends...!!! I am not an experienced knitter and making this type of shawls was a profound mystery for me for I could not figure out how to do the YO and decreases after I was halfway... Thank you sooo very much...!!! My heart thanks you very very much...!!! Bless you...!!!

    I've kniited 3 of these Baktus scarves. Great pattern that used to be on Ravelry but was discontinued. Weighing your yarn helps you decide when to decrease.

    I sometimes find it helpful to weave a small safety pin into the right side yarn. Easy to spot which row you're working on.

      Yep, or a stitch marker or a scrap piece of yarn of an alternate color so it's highly visible.

    Hello, I wish you would show what it looks like around your neck. I want to make this, but don't know if its long enough with tailored ends...

    Can you let me know where is the 29 inches before you start the decrease you did not show that❤

    Your decreasr section in vídeo does not quite match the written I structions. In vídeo, you say the return part ( with the decrease before the yo) keeps the same nr of stiches and you decrease on the next row. BUT it is exactly the opposite, you decrease I the return because you knit the yo and do not do a yo. It is only on the next row that you do a yo and keep the same nr of stiches. I was a bit confusrd In your vídeo and the written instructions saved me.

    Do you have to have a odd number of stitch in order to decrease

    Were you able to make this with just one Caron cake? I have only one of a discontinued color and I'm wondering if it will be enough. Thanks!

    The link with the written instructions says that the length is 29 1/2 inches. Does your "Length" refer to the distance between the top of the shawl and the point at the middle?

    am I correct in saying that when you want to start decreasing you continue knitting two together for every row?

    • @Krissyrocksoutloud
      @Krissyrocksoutloud 6 лет назад +1

      Morgan MacMaster I know this is a little late but maybe this is still helpful? When you're decreasing, on the right side, you keep an even stitch count and on the odd, you decrease. Technically there are k2tog on each side but you're only decreasing every other row. For example, if you have 80 stitches when you start decreasing, on right side you'll knit 2, yarn over (+1), k2tog (-1), knit to end of row. You'll still have 80. On the wrong side, you knit until you're 2 stitches away from yarn over, k2tog (-1), knit the yarn over and knit last 2 stitches (79). So it will be 80, 79, 79, 78, 78, 77, etc.

    How many inches on the circulars? 16, 24, 32?

    • @Krissyrocksoutloud
      @Krissyrocksoutloud 6 лет назад

      Stacey W. Since this is worked from shoulder to shoulder, point to point, just make sure that the needles are long enough to fit your desired height of the shawl (from neck to bottom point).

    I absolutely dislike those circular needles! The yarn is always stuck at the metal and today I made the decision to get rid of the ones I have.!
