The yarn store I work for has a “Give One, Take One” wall in the fall and winter for people who need warmth. Last year, I put ALL of my older hand knits out on the line and only kept the really important stuff. It’s an idea for those older things you’ll not use again!
Loved the episode! I could watch that kind of episode all day. It's great seeing all the different patterns and getting your take on them. I hope you do more.
I have been searching for some great knitting vlogs to enjoy and finally asked for recommendations in a Facebook group I’m in. I’m so glad I found yours - I really enjoyed it. Thank you!
Teal, mustard, purple, charcoal, & pumpkin/burnt orange (all dark tones) are my favs. Thanks for all the inspiration! My knitting was feeling very meh. I very much needed this!
One thing I like about your videos is how lightly & simply the editing is done. The onscreen text is a readable size, font & color, and you keep it out of the way of what you're showing.
Voolenvine I’m more surprised you’ve kept them all!!! I’ve destashed a bunch of knits over the years that were lovely but just not colors I’d wear. It’s like knitting Mari Kondo? Lol
This was fun to watch, such beautiful work. I also have a shawl addiction, however I crochet (would love to learn to knit) and was crocheting a shawl as I watched this. Shawls ROCK!
I love my Smock It! shawl. So comfortable! I love Stephen Wests patterns. I really liked seeing what you have knit. A perspective of sorts. I think I would lay them all out and see what I liked and what I didn't and the colors that worked and didn't and then maybe the next one you choose will be one you will wear and love. Thank you for sharing.
Hello, I just found your channel and I am really enjoying it. I downloaded a couple of patterns for the shawls, Vernal Equinox is beautiful. I have just begun spinning on a Turkish spindle, it's a lot of fun and relaxing. I also love the picture of the crow you have on the wall behind you. For the last couple of years, I have been feeding a crow "Tobias" he comes every day. If I don't put the food out early enough he comes to the kitchen window looks in and says I'm here. He also leaves presents for me every now and then, I enjoy him. I have subscribed, will enjoy the rest of the videos. Thank you. Alicia
I've watched this video at least five times 😂 I love seeing finished projects and some amazing yarn choices. Thank you for this I can't wait to see the next one!
This was super fun! Your Oracle Shawl design was one of my favorite knits of all time, and my first brioche ever (I think) and that Helen Stewart mystery shawl was another favorite. I want to knit both again. 💖
Loved watching your evolution of shawls. I enjoy knitting with lace and beads. Most of my shawls are from Boo Knits on ravelry. One of my favorite is Danse Macabre a MKAL. I knitted this shawl twice, one for me and the other gifted. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for the wonderful video. I have a large worsted weight shawl that I never really wear, but leaving it on the back of my favourite arm chair has made it a perfect kind of wrap/throw for 1 human +/- a lap dog. Maybe that would work for some of your shawls that don't get worn outside the house! Cheers!
Great video, really enjoyed this! So fun to see how you've evolved in your choices, I am the same - I have realized I need to stick to more neutral colors, like something I would actually buy in a store.
Thanks for the shawl tour ❤️ I have a lot of shawls as well and like to have a rotation with the colors and weights so none of my beauties get ignored! 😆 I am late to the Stephen West party and I’m knitting my very first SW design, the Exploration Station! It is such a fun knit and I can definitely see doing more of his designs. I think I have at least a half dozen Helen Stewart shawls knit up but not the Snowmelt and yours is beautiful 😍 I think my Oracle needs to come out of hiding 🤔 💭 Thanks for reminding me 👍🏻
Oh my God girl I just found your channel and I am in love I am normally a crocheter but I just picked up knitting again I haven't knitted in about three years and I started again and I actually started on something big I started a sweater go figure cuz you know that's what we do we go big or go home but anyway I just found these shawls that you made and I really really really want to make one of those Stephen westshaws so I believe that's my next project and thank you so much for getting me on the bandwagon
Really fun episode! Regarding your moth-eaten shawl, you might want to freeze the entire content of the storage bag for 48 hours and wipe the bag down with white vinegar. I am completely paranoid about moths - I store everything in vacuum bags and freeze everything on rotation once in a while, and especially just before storage during warmer months. I too really enjoy wearing a specific colour palette (muted tones on the cooler side) so your aesthetics is right up my alley (except I avoid black as I am fair, and favour an almost black pine green instead). I knit my first Helen Stewart shawl after seeing your Snowmelt Shawl - it was the Impressionists Shawl (also my first MKAL) and I still wear it all the time.
Just beautiful work Kristin. I love love love the Snowmelt Shawl on you. Those colours are gorgeous and green is definitely your colour. You looked lovely in every shawl you put on. ☺️
What advice would you have for someone knitting their first shawl, and what things would you suggest to take into consideration? I feel like they either look like their in grandma territory, or that they are just large triangle scarves. I’d like to get use out of it, and I know so many people love shawls… but I’m wondering if it will mostly be a process knit and to just accept that I will possibly never wear it
Wow you have definitely piqued my interest with the Vernal Equinox, so I’m a crocheter who up until about 2 weeks ago started knitting more. I’ve knitted off on for about 3 years as opposed to crocheting for about 30yrs. So I found me some worsted wt. downloaded the Vernal Equinox and away I went lol. I’m 40 rows in! Thank you for your inspiration and all your shawls are beautiful.❤️
Thank you sooooooo much for sharing I love shawls and I think I’m going try making a few of the “shawlankets”. I think I’m going to love making love “shawlankets”
Ah, brioche epicness!!! Excellent choice for quarantine times 👌🏻😂 I cast one on many moons ago, but frogged it after admitting I have an allergy to fades. 🤷🏻♀️

So nice to find this video because of all the nice small shawls. I have a friend who specifically requested a small one for her small frame!
I love knitting shawls I do branch out to socks.. the two make me happy,!
Loved the episode! I could watch that kind of episode all day. It's great seeing all the different patterns and getting your take on them. I hope you do more.
thanks for the viewing of your shawls. It gave me tons of ideas for future knits. You the best!
😘

That’s awesome! Boston Jen Awesome colors!

I really enjoyed seeing all the shawls. They are beautiful
LOVE these kind of episodes! Such fun to see all those knits!
I can't believe I've knit so many! 🙈
Voolenvine I’m more surprised you’ve kept them all!!! I’ve destashed a bunch of knits over the years that were lovely but just not colors I’d wear. It’s like knitting Mari Kondo? Lol
OH that first one I LOVE!!!! I’m not sure I could do one that big and Lacey! I might have to try
I LOVED seeing your shawls, and I think you should make another video so we can see even more! So much fun to revisit past makes! Thank you!
I’m so glad I’m not the only person who stores hand knits in duvet bags 😂🖤
Wow, really lovely yarns that make all those patterns so elegant! Inspiring episode, thanks!

Thanks for sharing your Tan House Brook Shawl! I love the colorway you used! Also love that you knit it while on the Cape (in my home state of MA) :)
Lol, I end up playing dress-up while cleaning my closet too.
It's so hard not to!! 😂

Love your eyeball shawl. I really need to add that to my make list. You could also consider hanging yours up as a bit of tapestry.
Now THAT is a great idea!! 😄

Exploration Station is a most excellent gateway Stephen West pattern! SO MUCH FUN!!
Gorgeous colour and pattern choices. You have inspired me to make Smock it. Thanks.

Really well done Kristin :) Beautiful work , fun idea ♥️

What does the white vinegar do? I read if you put fabric softener sheets in the bag it prevents moths eating wool.
@@tereyes5633 white vinegar helps clean the bag and remove potential moth eggs.
Love your shawls
Very enjoyable ❣️
Love this! So interesting to hear what was your most worn, favorite to knit, etc...
Please show the rest of your shawls, I’m a newish knitter and your thoughts are really helpful. Thank you!
Loved seeing your shawls, and wondering what you didn't show....lol Same storage system here :)
My 17 you daughter thinks next week should be 'Shawl' week so she can wear all the shawls I've made. Thank you for this video, it was a treat.
I Love it that idea! Kind of like Shark Week! 😂 So glad you enjoyed, Shonda.
It was insightful. Thank you 😊
Love all Your Shawls 😍😘
Hello, love your channel!!
What an awesome video!! Very much enjoyed that from start to finish. Was that all the shawls?? If not, please! You must!! Show the rest? 🤗💖😁☺️
I may need to do a part II! 😂
I really liked this one ❤️
Just beautiful work Kristin. I love love love the Snowmelt Shawl on you. Those colours are gorgeous and green is definitely your colour. You looked lovely in every shawl you put on. ☺️

Ok...I love this video! Akkkk! You forgot the information on the "Smock it" shawl.
It’s very beautiful ♥️
Can you do a sweater version of this blog and a sock version?
Kitty Haas YES! That would be awesome.
Hello! Please tell us the brand and number of your beautiful lipstick. Thank you very much.
Sadly no longer dying…lol took me a minute to understand that one.
Thank you sooooooo much for sharing I love shawls and I think I’m going try making a few of the “shawlankets”. I think I’m going to love making love “shawlankets”
Thanks😊💛💛x
Fun! I just began “What the Fade” 😳 I might be crazy but hey ...... quarantine knitting lol. Have you done What the Fade??
Ah, brioche epicness!!! Excellent choice for quarantine times 👌🏻😂 I cast one on many moons ago, but frogged it after admitting I have an allergy to fades. 🤷🏻♀️
Voolenvine ummmm ya mine is not fading like I wanted but I’m committed now lol
Can you do the same video with sweaters?!
"..who is sadly no one longer dying..." WHAT?!
It's unfortunate that you do not show how these shawls look when wearing them on you.
Angelina
You talk way too fast!!!
