This is a great video, Jim. This is the time of year where people need to be proactive to prevent having a no start situation in the morning before work.
Nice video, but you are incorrect as to the amperage output. You can NOT rate these lithium jump starters in CA or CCA. Both of those ratings are, by definition, based on power output over a 30 second time interval. These lithium battery jump starter will shut down WAY before 30 seconds. That's why they get creative and release "starting" amps and similar ratings....CA and CCA ratings are an impossibility. Your big booster pack at work likely contains a sealed lead acid (SLA) battery...they can be rated in the conventional CA or CCAs. Hope this helps.
Peak current and Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) aren't the same thing it's NOT 4,000 CCA I've had one for a while and it's awesome and has zero problems starting a 200 series landcruiser 4.5lt V8 Diesel, fires up with a dead car batter like you just installed a new battery.
Just purchased this same GooLoo unit. Thank you so much for the excellent detailed instructional video. Very well explained in a clear and straightforward way. Thumbs Up for sure....Rod in SC
Jim........you don't immediately use the "boost" button. You attempt to start the car first with the jumpers in place. If the battery is completely dead, to the point where the box does not start the car, then you hit the boost button and make certain to start the car within 30 seconds. Where I live, I can't leave it in the trunk during the summer months because it should not be stored above 140 for any length of time and my garage is often that hot. Since it's been a couple of years since you did this video, have you ever had to use the Gooloo in a real-world situation? I noticed that you mentioned that you carry a different type of jump box in your vehicle.
I have the same booster pack , and I have a question , if my car battery is too low in voltage ( to the extent that no dash light comes on ) this booster pack doesn’t work and I have to jump start from another car’s battery . Do you know a way to make this booster pack able to jump start a car with dead battery ?
I bought a car jump starter Gooloo GP4000 and that unit didn’t come a USB-C wall charger, I am wondering which wall charger to buy. On the box it listed input 15V(5V/3A). In the manual, it says this unit can be charged with a type-C cable and a 5V wall charger ( phone charger) or car chargers. ( only via the QC3.0 wall charger or car charger can achieve the quick charge input function). I want to buy a fast wall charger for my jump starter, what would you recommend?
Great video on the gooloo 4000! We've been trying to get a couple of those up here in Canada but so far no luck. I do have currently the shoemacher SL1317 which is pretty good. I agree, in most cases you get what you pay for. Spend accordingly! 👍🇨🇦
Is it okay to add distilled water into a 4 year old Interstate battery? The battery is working fine, but there's quite a bit of corrosion at a terminal and in the center where the caps meet. They are willing to prorate the battery for a new one. Should I replace it?
Have the battery load tested by a mechanic. That's the best way to tell if it's nearing the end of it's life. Especially important if you're heading into winter where you live - like I am in southern Ontario, Canada .. Yes, you can add distilled water if it's getting low - below the top of the plates.
I don't recommend the lithium-ion jumper packs any more. First of all, over the years I've found them to be unreliable. Even if kept charged, they often don't work when you need them (as your customer found). Even worse, I had one self destruct inside my car and created a horrendous mess. It was maybe 5 years old and had a nuclear meltdown which caused some melting to plastic interior parts and released a white residue throughout the car. It stunk & I wasn't able to wash off the residue, so I had to take it to a shop to get it cleaned out. Three days and $620 later, the car still stinks. I like the "supercapacitor" type that you've reviewed in the past. They are safer because they remain uncharged until immediately prior to use.
Jimthecarguy Question: Would you do a comparison video between this one( NOCO GB70. Which you did about 5 years ago) ruclips.net/video/CN4O--1ihaM/видео.html and the Gooloo GP4000 Titan.
I think all of these packs come from the same factory in China. They just put in different housings and sold under different manufacturers names. They all work the same. They do come in handy though. Thanks for the review of this one.
Load of rubbish I bought a gooloo 4000s after watching all these videos wouldnt even start a 1 litre vauxhall corsa with a 6 month old bosch battery init that had went flat
I'm coincidentally in the middle of recording content for the GP4000 I just bought. ( My Corolla alternator died in the middle of the night, on a long back road... More content, but the reason I bought the GP4000 last week...)

You’re right for sure. With the change in weather it is always good to be prepared. Thanks for watching
I have an older Gooloo I bought maybe 6 years ago. I have a fleet of cars and it is still jump starting my V8 F250 no problem.
Thanks for your input and for watching

Let me know what you think of it once you use it.

I just got the GT4000 but I haven't use it yet it didn't come with the hard case, well I guess sooner or later I will get one.

Can I jump a 125cc atv battery with this and moped battery? Or is it too powerful and could fry something?
Love the video, Walmart has same one cheaper than Amazon.
Stay clear of GooLoo jumpers. The work 4 or 5 times and then they fail and the refuse back up their products. Save your money.
Great video ,my green light blinks when hooked up any help? Thanks
Can you use this with a completely dead battery? Or without a battery at all?
I just saw a guy use one of these little guy’s to jumpstart his car! 👍🏻
I just got this device today great demonstration but I'm curious what the boost button is for?
Its to jump if the booster senses a bad car battery
Thanx, just got me one

Agreed for sure. When you buy a lower price unit you have to expect poor performance
I found an ebay seller that delivered to Canada
Thanks for the video. I just got one of these as a Christmas gift!
Hope you enjoy it!
I think the cables must be undone in reverse order. Not sure you did that.

Update: finally got the 4000 complete with a hard case for $93.00 taxes in. 😊
why is your voice off when you say cold cranking
It’s not 4000 CCA. The 4000 is just peak amps. CCA cannot be measured in lithium ion battery. It can only be measured in lead acid batteries.

I also have the super-capacitor in my car for the same reason thanks for your input
Sold Im buyin it. Thank you
Good advice.
is it a capacitor or a battery
Hi Vinnie. This one is a battery but I did a video on a super capacitor a while back

Will do as soon as I get a chance
The cable is too short!

I’ve used this kind of buster pack to drive a broken down vehicle back to my shop. Thanks for watching
