Crazy lung capacity. His voice is instantly recognizable. Like Whitney, he had a gorgeous tonal quality, that set him apart. Others can hit those notes, but they will never sound like him. He stands alone. And his voice lasted to the end. Blessed was he.
Too true, having a voice so powerful as Franco Corelli's, and one as beautiful as Luciano Pavarotti's exist within the same century is something to behold.
@@jamesmaalis3211 Yes, the Golden Age of opera, sadly gone now, but at least we have the gift of so many awe-inspiring performances by the most gifted singers the art form has ever known. Pavarotti was the last of the greats.
July 2016....Nobody but nobody can move me like the Maestro Luciano Pavarotti! In the opera theater's or in Central Park etc. he gave his heart and soul to his public!! I will treasure his memory always! ! Thank You for posting this awesome video! !
only the voice of century... i cant hear it anymore.... Never ever again will there be any kind of opera singer who could match his passion his aura on the stage, pronounciations of the italian language this effortless and light singing and how he played his roles.. Like Nemorino.... nobody ever ever again
The clear quality of the voice, the lack of all kinds of mannerisms, duskiness, pushing, all these made Luciano unique, His voice was pure, clarion and true to the music. All other tenor fanatics, you can stone me now....
My voice teacher is nuts…. How could he say Pavarotti was a “park and bark” singer. The guy was a fantastic actor and showed such expressive prowess especially with that Elisire da Amore and Pagliacci. Really something to aim for for all singers out there
Luciano was never accused of being a good actor. Your teacher is right! He really was stiff as a board. But who cares. People came to hear him, not see him.
some broken down teacher.... a never was who couldnt hack it trying ti tear down probably the best opera star that ever was.. thinking he can impress a young student into believing he knows something.. believe me friend dunp that hack teacher as fast as you can. go listen to pav sing the nine high C.s and then make up your own mind. good luck and enjoy
Whose voice can compare to Luciano, THE greatest opera singer of all time. Sure there are good singers, great singers, but none as great as Pavarotti. I doubt anyone will ever be able to move the soul the way his voice did.
I had the great privilege to have seen Maestro Pavarotti perform nearly a dozen times, once while sitting on the stage of Avery Fisher Hall. He is without question the greatest artist my eyes and ears have ever witnessed, and I’ve seen some greats in my time. The affection and respect I have for this man has in some ways defined my life, and I will treasure the memories he has given me until my last day.
NO WONDER WE ALL LOVE THE MAN; GREATER THAN LIFE.. Almost difficult to ascertain OUR Favorites as they ALL ARE.. Just listen people you will Know all the individual opera these aria's are from. I without hesitation state LUCIANO PAVAROTTI Greatest Singer of all Time.
I was fortunate to see Pavarotti in Edmonton Canada in 1995. It was truly amasing , the most memorable time in my life. I often think back and pinch myself. Did I really experience that, it was epic❤❤❤❤❤❤

This is an amazing feat. Thank you Fabou! Such an amazing compilaton all vidoes, too! WOW! I only wish you had not included audience cheers, some quite long. It a cut the continuity of your Pavorotti montage lise commercial interrutions during a great TV show. And for all I know, not having uploading anything,it may have been hard to cut out. But otherwise, excellent choices. SO FINALLY - BRAVO Well Done!!!
Last clip sounds clumbsily modified/spliced together, it's an opera scene from a movie rather than a live performance though, so I don't see any shame in creating a fantasy ending there. Celeste aida at around 5:30 is entierly genuine though and maybe the most amazing full-power high note I've heard, he held that for 12 seconds. Franco Corellis endless diminuendos of the same song are the only moments I'm more impressed by when it comes to vocals.
That's a stupid assessment. True, things recorded in studio tend to be exaggerated but Pavarotti's still singing so it's not "fake". In addition, he's sounded amazing in many renditions of the same aria in concert.
NO NO NO. I'm assuming that whoever critisised the studio recordings was born in the age of digital trickery and auto tuning voice improvers. If you check the dates of those recordings you will find that they PRE DATE the cheat modes by quite a bit. He still had to sing it in the first place, before he lip sinked in the movie version. Sound studios are VERY expensive, especially for a 3 hour opera. Do your research before you jump to " fake News " mode.
This nessun dorma final note wasn't as good as the world cup or Madison Square Garden versions- which were 10 or 15 years later. He continued to improve most of his career.

Truly the kind of voice that comes along only once in a century. He remains the best ever. Totally peerless.

Opera isn't about acting. It's about singing and no one was better than Pavarotti.
He once said... "give me a break, I took singing lessons for 7 years and they still want me to act"?
