One of the most touching video game credits roll ever! When you AT LAST (the first time is hard), finished this game, and you see THIS... The sweet taste of victory come along with bitter taste of saying good-bye to this wonderful story. You watch this, and you understand, there will be no game like this! Never!
The first time I beat this game when I was 10 or so, not only was I super thrilled that I beat the game but the credits blew my mind with the music and how the backgrounds on the video clips would fade out and the camera would move around while the credits were still going. I think this is one of the coolest ideas that was ever pulled off for a credits roll. For a long time I even kept a game save just before the boss fight just so I could beat it to see and listen to the credits again. (How many other people can remember doing that?) While it is debatable that Resident Evil 2 was similar to the first Resident Evil but better and that Resident Evil 3 was slightly different from Resident Evil and Resident Evil 2 but was better then both of them, let's not forget that all three of them are great games and that the Resident Evil games that came later were just not the same thing. Capcom did a damn good job with Resident Evil 1, Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 3, and that's why they are such timeless classics. As the old saying goes "They don't make them like they used to."
A lot of old games were like this. Mega Man 3 on NES is happy like this despite a melancholic ending. Street Fighter 2 has a similar upbeat credits music. Several Eroge games tend to have a very upbeat credits theme.
Despite what most people say, I always thought this song suited the game: Since its debut I looked at it as a victory fanfare theme or a happy time theme for the heroes of this game that survived, whether it was 1 hero or all the heroes in the game as a collective.
Yeah I actually like the rock themes like this at the end of each game since resident evil is supposed to be like you're taking part in an action horror movie but in the perspective of a police officer/soldier/random person (aka Claire) fighting enemies, I really wish they kept the zoom openings for the later games since it really felt good. Also you're right about it suiting the game .
I just beat Resident Evil today for the first time, and I really enjoyed. Despite it's abundance of cheese, it still managed to startle and scare me. I played through as Jill, so I want to play as Chris next.
@@White927 despite me being a sucker for re4 i must admit your opnion is half right re4 was good on its action and started a new era in the franchise but at the same thine ruined the survival horror elements of the game.
Remember beting this game for the first time when I was twelve and seeing this. Still love playing through this game once every few years. I feel lucky I have original copies :)
I had the Director's Cut version as a kid (which I played the hell out of it) and I guess I sold it at some point, which was a really stupid move. I bought it again a couple years ago on ebay. This time I don't think I'll ever let it go!
Except, that soundtrack has 1980s written all over it, despite coming out with the game in the mid-1990s. 😅 Kinda weird, how a lot of games would continue that trend from the late 80s well into the time, when AWESOME, synth-laden hard rock was no longer fashionable. Not that I'm complaining. 🙂
With credit music like this and as Cheesey as RE1is(I LOVE cheese, by the by), I would imagine someone like Barry making a pun and everyone laughing together as a freezeframe brings on the credits!]:P
Even though it's your comment is 2 year old, they actually do embrace. When you're playing as Chris, you should only see jill after Rebecca activates the self destruct system and not before that.
i really loved this song way back on the ps1, can't wait for part 5! chris was always the man, he's been MIA since code veronica, plus i got tired of being leon, hehe. =P
I like most of the music on the Director's Cut Dual Shock version better, but this is one exception because this ending theme is way better than the one on the DC version.
Did anyone else ever get the end credits with no images, just black screen and text? It always happened in the play through where you hear Barry say "What about my kids?!" - or maybe my disc got corrupted, who knows.
I helped most of my friends who could not finish the lab part until fight tyrant then when ending comes..this song appear with me act like a so called hero after helping friends beat the game
The PC version has a weird version of the credits where the scenes are all the dead animations. I never knew how to unlock those credits, I was just messing with the files and found them. If anyone knows how to get the dead animations credits please tell me, is a 24 years question about now.
The 1990s was a really good decade for video games.
Bro, is the best decade for de videogames!
@@dannydiaz9584 Couldn’t agree More!
For song too
I really love hunting game and song cassettes and cd in that era with all my friends...i wanna cry remembering all that again
Good bye resident evil, you will be missed, you died when RE 4 released, we will never forget you.
Agreed!

That’s why original Resident Evil for me is the best one from the entire franchise, plus one of the best games of all time
Prepares you for re 2 of course!
Re1,2 and 3: nemesis are the best ever made imo

RE4 was good

This.. the music, the ending.. Transport me back to the day i fell in Love with RE. Thanks for uploading.

Back when they were proud to say that because they knew the game was of quality.
Now they are again.

This played in my head when I graduated from high school
We will never have games like this anymore 😔
We still do you just have to look. Look into Vigil from Residence of Evil it looks lit.
Thank god.
Still gives me chills. Masterfully done.
:'( my childhood present in this video. beautiful so beautiful video
Damn, those guitars near the end of the video!
I love this ending theme ! I think it has a particularly happy tone for a dark game. It reminds me of the Sonic Adventure rock songs !
Same, always felt this way! I always got this song mixed up for a song from Sonic Adventure. Definitely same genre haha
Its been 3 years since I first listened to this and it's just as amazing.
Holy.. watching and listening to this still makes me cry.
1996 was an innovation year for games.
For me it was the entire 1990s. After that it was never the same.
Reliving my childhood listening to this badass song. Man this game was a MF classic! I tried to learn this on the guiter and failed miserably lol
One of the best games of history.
:D
Hooo yes 🫶🏼
0:13 When the cooty start getting good 💕💕
Finally beating this game was quite the joy, still remember being scared by the first zombie as a kid.
This ending theme reminds me of Sonic Adventure and its type of music. Idk if i'm the only one lol
Best credits ever =D
"Alright nice work gentlemen, all we need to do is make the credits for our own horror title, anyone got ideas?"
Composer: "Got it"
I need an 1 hour version of this
Man this takes me back to simpler times, this theme and the Tekken 2 soundtrack are my childhood
this should be the ending song of the new remake ...
Yes, yes it should be.
My song for New Year’s Eve.
When the last day of school and its the end of the day im gonna play this in the classrom....
Tempo bom que não volta mais...muitas lembranças...
This song really got stuck in the back of my mind. Haven't heard it in 9 or 10 years but remember it as if it was yesterday!

Good memories from middle 90's. Golden PS1 era games.
This music has a strong Ace Combat 2 vibe! No wonder I kept mistaking it for Ace Combat music until I watched this video O_O
this game was so advance of its time... luved ps1 and resident evil series!!

it also reminds me of Risky Ride from OutRun 2

I would complete this game on a regular basis just to hear this track.
If anyone ever makes a good Resident Evil movie, I hope they add this song in the credits as an extra bit of fan service.

Hate that in the remake Chris & Jill don't embrace in the cell when he frees her. =\
Original > Remake
I mad they don't bang.
Hey at least the remake isn't a remake of the director's cut
I just saw a playthrough of REmake and they do embrace! I think you have to not speak to her in the cell until you actually free her?

i just ripped this song of youtube.cheers mate

I seem to remember the Saturn gameplay images during the credits being smoother.
@Quahog7 yeah the guitat sounds are often the same.
I was the same its a great tune, brings back good memories.
Still the best re ending theme song :).
memories !
great sound
The live action cutscene from the beginning all of the actors are dead except the actor for Barry burton
The best song and game far away
I wish the song would stay with the same relaxing melodies in the first 15 seconds.
Great quality sound
Go back to the roots, Capcom!!!
Revelations being the exception that was like a good ol Resident Evil.
*I watch this ending when I just couldn't beat this game when it first came out for PC.*
Best resident evil credits theme ever!
looks like a love song
We did it guys Resi 1 2 and 3 will be released on GOG for modern PCs, lets enter thw world of survival horror once again.
it was a mainstream shooting b movie game in the first place and there's none like it on the market.
@Leviindierocker Because this was from Capcom, they wanted to make it friendly sounding!! SCORE!

So many years have gone by that I can't remember what I did wrong! I'll have to read up on all the endings.
