I spent a good portion of my life watching my brother play this game when I was little. Scared me way too much to ever play it myself, but I absolutely loved watching him. To this day, this is one of my very favorite Resident Evil games. You and he battle Tyrant in exactly the same way, lol. Nice job
I love how the tyrant is right in Chris' face when the rocket launcher is being aimed but when the trigger is pulled, suddenly the tyrant is at a distance again.
when this bring back SOOO many memory when i was little at 9 and now look at me! I have return to watch this all of the Resident Evil games it was so cool and epic
My favorite part of this ending sequence was always the flare. I'd be charging through the halls, the alarms blasting, the zombies roaming, Tyrant roaring, the intensity rising, and then in the quiet outside, I set off the flare, and...PfffffFFFFFFFFFFF...the head trailing it and the crossed arm wait. Laughed every single time!
Seems like a happy ending with no loose ends. All the heroes are safe, Wesker is dead at the hands of the monster that he created, and Umbrella's executives have been arrested.
I had a lot of ammo in my inventory chest box, but I decided not to use any on Final Tyrant to display that you don't actually need to fire anything at it until the Rocket Launcher is dropped.
Yes it is... That's the one where you fight the tyrant boss in the Cargo hold of a plane(not at the end, but half way through the game).. It then crash lands in Antartica.
one of the scariest games to play as a kid...and btw I never beat the 1st resident evil, but from watching this video I know i wouldve been PISSED it took that long to get that rocket launcher dropped lol....like bruh, wth are you doing in the helicopter?? don't you see I'm in trouble down here? hahaha
I'll never forget first playing this game at a family cookout. I remember my heart jumping out my chest when the zombie dog first jumps through the window 😨
@BeforeThereWasATime If you play as Chris, you have to rescue Jill by collecting all 3 MO Discs, and also Rebecca has to be alive still, i'm not sure how to do this, but she always seems to be alive at the end no matter what I do. With Jill, you have to rescue Chris by collecton all the 3 MO discs and make sure Barry is alive.
I learned at a early age that you could wait until the timer got to about a minute left then use the flare to call Brad, as soon as Tyrant showed up he would drop the rocket launcher. Same thing goes for Mr X in Resident Evil 2.
Well less experieced players need to take Ammo with them... Magnum if possible. He's hard to fend off without it, and actually I've noticed the Launcher actually appears faster if you do damage him somewhat.
The remake is incredible, for a GameCube game it looks beautiful with the lighting effects and what not. I finished it before but my heart is always with the original. You should definitely play this, it's relatively cheap to find on eBay and websites a-like.
I’ve only played the remake which I think is my very first resident evil game and I’m proud that it is. I’m not sure where I could find the original resident evil one and be able to play it but I’m sure I’ll get it just like OG RE2 and RE3
Its funny, given the actual time frame of Resident Evil history, Barry, Jill, Chris and Rebecca all escape the mansion. But even in the remake you can never have all 4 escape. I always figured in the remake they would make an ending that made sense with the rest of the story.
I know, but i think some of the puzzles and methods lacked common sense..but even so, that didnt stop me from playing all the R.E. series. I loved them!
@pb19111 It opens a secret room in the Wardrobe Room (Mansion/1F), there you can get alternative clothing for Chris or Jill, depending on who you choose to play with.
@bromanity They all end with the classic "countdown to destruction" ending. And they all still have the final boss fight occur during or after it(if it's afterwards, you will still face a boss during this scene anyway, usually while waiting for an elevator to arrive).
Wow I remember watching my dad beat this game I was like 5 or 6 and this game scared the snot outta me lol. This was the only one that I never played though never took the time to look for it.
I remember playing this and fighting tyrant as jill. The tyrant hit me straight to the wall. Like brh i was literallly tying had a hard time dodging and brad taking along time giving me a rocket launcher to kill that thing
@@Solitude633 Brh i remember when i got the rocket launcer i had to tome ot and make it count because i didn't save and i would start all over again because i run outof ink.

What an awesome game!! Brings back some scary memories......like when the dogs jump through the window in the mansion and i fell off my chair and broke it and nearly shit myself!!!! Good times!!;)
@edpunkrocker90 actually, thats true somewhat but, you guys needed dramatic music, and alot of running in circles, trying to kill the boss in 30 seconds with saved up bullets, until on your 50th try you finally figure out to just survive, grab the rocket launcher, and blow the guy up with it. Then you are like, What a great game *flashes actors* unexpected, but still a great game *claps slowly*
@canesrule96 Hmm funny you should ask that question as I just finished the REmake (as Jill) a few weeks ago, I did keep shooting at it before the rocket launcher came down, but that was my own decision to do so, I'm not sure if you HAVE to shoot it or not, but I did. Why not? =]
I've never played the N64 version of Resident Evil 2, it's something I really should get around to. I like 4, 5, and 6 (4 being my favourite out of the three) but I find the classic trilogy the best in the series, they have a certain something to them that makes them special. The Survivor games are quite fun, I've only got the first one and beat it in a few hours, the multiple ways you can go at certain points definitely adds to the replay value.
Depends. The story and gameplay are identical, but Chris has fewer strengths than Jill does: six item slots instead of eight, doesn't have a lockpick, and doesn't get the grenade launcher. Instead, he gets a flamethrower, which is only useful for one boss fight and can't be refueled. However, he runs faster, can take more hits, and has Rebecca to heal him, but Barry can come and save Jill in certain situations...while Rebecca's the one who's gonna need saving.
@naomigatt1 Damn I actually don't remember. I might be wrong but I think he is with Jill in the corridor fighting off monsters whilst Chris fights the Tyrant. Anyone is free to correct me but this is what I think.
ill have too! i got a pretty good re collection i have 2 for n64 , 4 5 6 for 360 , and i wanted to get all the classics and get the entire franchise , like even the survivor games 1 and 2. the wii shooters were great as well. so maybe i will grab this one in due time. thanks for the recommendation , and ya nailed the end like a pro lol gotta love those moments when you know a game so well you can literally toy with it :P

I never saw the point in bringing a weapon to the final battle. I just hoarded all the first aid sprays until the end of the game and did like you did, run, dodge, and heal, until Brad finally makes himself useful.
see back in the 90s games like this were good enough for us and they still are! but since kids today have a short attention span they need explosions and fast moving "zombies" with guns, which also talk. it would be nice to play RE without feeling like im playing modern warfare
@keyransolo oh ok yeah thanks =) yeah i remember and yeah rebecca is always alive lol xD i think is because you have to say yes everytime she ask for something... but with jill i don't know how to make sure barry is alive how do i do that ?... and thank you =)
The live action sequences in this game are still better than all the live action resident evil films put together.
I spent a good portion of my life watching my brother play this game when I was little. Scared me way too much to ever play it myself, but I absolutely loved watching him. To this day, this is one of my very favorite Resident Evil games. You and he battle Tyrant in exactly the same way, lol. Nice job

8:32 most awsome picture in gaming history....it just influence the whole experience.
Chris' ending is better because he ended up doing the objective, which was find and rescue the bravo team members and Rebecca was one of them
Jill was smarter. Chris was just to dumb and couldn't use a lockpick
Chris C, but since Chris had the lighter, it was easy to avoid the crimson heads since you can burn the bodies

No the more damage you do the sooner he will drop it. Same for Mr ☓ in Resident Evil 2.
I ran out of ammo during this fight lol thank god for Brad
Nope. If you wait until 40 seconds are left then use the flare he will drop it instantly.
Cutscenes were Live action filmed by a studio based in the UK

lol its funny how every Resident Evil game ends with them heading tours the sunset like wtf?!?!
And after 7 years later, RE7 also ended with a helicopter headed towards the sunset
