I can understand taking Penix. First off Kirk is an older player coming off injury and two. I believe the Falcons don’t want to have another experience of facing years looking for a QB like when Ryan left.
The falcons are probably seeing something that no body else can see yet but yeah I was shocked when the falcons picked Michael Penix Jr

If they think cousins is getting older amd won't be as good two years from now fair enough have Penix to replace him. Saying that they will have to bite some big cap space to do do regardless
Latham was a perfect pick @ 7. Now, I'd like to see them trade back to mid to late 2nd, get a third rounder and pick Ja' Lynn in the 2nd ( or reach for Ben Sinnot and hope Ja' Lynn is there in the 3rd). Sticking in the 2nd ... I'm feeling Braden Fiske.

the falcons and the packers both sold their first round picks, thought Cooper DeJean was a packer for sure, i think the raiders are gonna take a chance on rattler in the second round for qb, he’s the only other qb in this class with starting potential
Absolutely zero starting potential whatsoever. Rattler has consistently underachieved since leaving hs.
the packers needed a starting right guard & got exactly that. & notice how nobody else went with dejean or koolaid in the first round. i’m sure nfl scouts know more than twitter mock drafts my guy 😭😭💀 & packers have never went with the popular names but in recent years have totally hit in the draft. any logical packers fan (which is a hard find) knows the last 2 packers draft classes have been close to flawless & still some good players from 2021 & 2020 draft classes
I think it's because most teams see Dejean as a safety and safety has fell for years now in drafts plus GB loves a good versatile OL. I joked about them not taking a guy like Alt if he can't play every position on the line but there is some truth to it as GB is wild at that position lol. But they usually do get it right so I can't fault them.
@@Jeromepkr i’m not the nfl gm so i don’t have room to say what’s right or wrong, also didn’t see AD Mitchell falling to the second round, probably gonna be first off the board tonight for buffalo though
@@chrisbruchak4519 he has some of the best deep ball accuracy out of any qbs in this draft class, i know he’s had some personality issues off the field, but i think he still has potential to lead a team in the nfl

The falcons picking penix at 8 like they did is a perfect example of mock drafts being completely and utterly pointless.
I wouldn't say completely pointless but yeah no one is going to get them completely right or even close for that matter. They're still fun to look at and be sort of a guide to the draft but obviously there's going to be those shocker picks.
@@Jeromepkr yeah true. And penix going at 8 is most definitely the definition of a shock pick
