    I always wonder, when seeing these very expensive buildings - who paid for it? Slaves? Pillaging of the colonies? Someone did and back in those days, who got away with “murder” in the interest of increasing the family fortune?AND thanks for taking the time to show us around the country-side. Bit of a contrast between the castle on the distance hill and the terrace houses below - us and them?

      Commerce from the first industrial age payed for it. The technology and manufactured goods of Great Britain fueled the world and empire. Thank goodness.

      Currency = Electrical current, they were a people of higher affinity towards beauty and achievement. We as a people no longer dedicate energy to these wonderful structures.

      You'll find a huge amount was farming (farms were generally tentant farmers) coal mining, quarries and lace to name a few.
