Mr. Scotty, does this RECALL cover hondas in the Philippines? I have a Honda CR-V SX Diesel 2018 got it brand new. I drive it off and on and its at 46k km now. I take it to regular PMS every 6mos. Kindly reply. Many thanks.
At least Honda owns up to their mistakes and issues a recall. Remember Hyundai got fined for stalling on their recall for engines that would catch fire and subject people to possible injury.
Agreed 👍 Eventhough Hyundai and Kia Theta engines were bad ( which were the blame of a lead engineer hired from Audi/VW), the Company should have forced better resolution at the dealership/service level instead of letting each dealership run amok in handling the recalls. Additionally, they replaced the engines with the same poorly designed engines. Needless to say, the lead engineer and his cronies have been terminated, and the newer designed 4 cylinder engines are much better.
This issue was known for several years while the company ignored those that suffered a failure and blamed owners for negligence. Some got luck to have their engines replaced under warranty or good will. I wouldn't be so quick to praise them as the real test will be how they go about the replacement and if the replacement will be done correctly. Just like KIA and Hyundai, I'm certain this recall will expand.. By the way, many 1.5T have suffered head gasket issues, though no recall "as of yet". Poorly designed engine. Years ago many 2.4 and 3.7L were suffering from excessive oil consumption. I lost count how many engines I replaced, not including transmissions.. Then they had VCM issues a few years later. It's like they no longer know how to make engines..
My Grandad (born 1920-2012), painted his 43’ Chevy truck & his new truck 56’ Chevy w/6cyl, 3-spd on the tree. He painted them with a roller & reg paint brush. Worked pretty good for him!!
I still love my 2015 Honda Fit, but at under 50,000 miles in 2018 her (name is Ruby) engine coils and fuel injectors blew. For the past 1-1.5 years she's had cluster electric problems. (now at 111K+ miles) Honda did cover the fuel injectors but initially refused to admit my car SHOULD have been included in the recall of other 2015s for bad engine coils. I had to pay about $580 back then. I was still pissed years later and wrote to the head of Honda (always go to the top person) and complained. They sent me a $500 debit card to make up for it.
Honda reliability is a myth. Their late 90s and early 2000s car, and even now, has major transmission problems. I remember the 90s trans would go out around 120,000. I bought a brand new 2000 Civic Si. Even though the engine was bullet proof since it's a B16 engine, one of their higher performance 8000 rpm engines, the car overall wasn't that great as it aged. The paint started peeling in 5 years. The corrosion in the engine drove me crazy that it happened in 3-4 years. My 2019 Mazda3 hatch's engine bay looks brand new. My 18 year old 3 series engine looks better than my old Civic in 3-4 years. The window rails kept failing. The car as it got older had so much interior rattle and road noise. Motor mounts, rusted sway bars, rusted exhaust, water in the tail lights. The newer cars with the 1.5t has oil dilution problems, the 9 speed transmission is faulty. The only reason why they're still up there on the reliability list is because they don't have that much tech as other cars, same with Lexus. They use very old proven tech, nothing innovative, not much for it to go wrong. I personally think BMW does a great job with all the electronics in their car and they were 3rd in 2022, 8th in 2023. They've been top ten for the past few years, beating Audi and the God awful Mercedes.
Oh jeez! You are freaking me out. I need this car to LAST. I will say that I saw a 2006 Honda Element in 2016 at a dealership in Denver. A woman had traded the 10 year old Element in at 445,000 miles with NO problems! And it even looked pretty good cosmetically. @@DroneStrike1776
2008 Honda fit , had bad spark plug coils to , I was able to change them myself . the stealership did not tell me the coils are designed wrong . Good car , except for the COP / ( coil on plug ) design
I was looking at used TLXs last year to upgrade my old car. I didn't trust those 9-10 speed transmissions so it didn't happened. However, I never had any doubt on Acura-Honda's engines. They were bulletproof in my mind. I was still living the 2000s I guess
I had a 2008 Accord with the V-6 engine. I bought it used. It had a "silent" recall for the o-rings leaking. I was never informed of the recall until the check engine light came on. Honda said the recall was good for 8 years. Mine was 8 years 3 months old. Dealer told me I needed a complete rebuild. Cost was going to be $4500 - $5000. Honda refused to pay a dime. I'm done with Hondas. That was my 5th and last Honda.
It depends on what engine. I have a ‘16 Accord with the 2.4L 4-cylinder engine. It’s an incredibly reliable engine.👍. They’re also in some Accuras and the CRVs.
This explains why I haven't been so busy at work recently, even though winter months are supposed to be our busiest time of year. I build the driver seats that go into Accuras. We've been at 90 seats per shift, and when I started in October of last year, we were doing 210 a shift. Certainly has shortened my paychecks, now that I don't get overtime. Best I can do is stay for a full 8 hours and clean after shift/do work for 1st shift.
My wife and I bought a 2021 Honda passport brand new off of the front line at the local dealership. After about 8,000 Mi the weather cool down and naturally the tire pressure went down when I began to air the tire it blew the valve stem out Steam out. When the local tire store broke the tire down there was a huge patch inside of it. The dealership accused us basically of patching the tire and begrudgingly replace the valve stem and sensor but not the tire. They claimed it came from the factory if we didn't do that
Well, Scotty at least Honda is recalling. They also have a big recall on fuel pumps. I remember my brother had a Honda Odyssey that had a transmission issue. Honda replaced the transmission at no charge for him but Chrysler/Dodge who had the same transmission told their customers no coverage, your problem. My neighbour had bought 3 Chrysler Town & Country minivans from the same dealer and they told him the transmission was not covered. I find the 2 companies that stand behind their vehicles are Honda & Toyota Most of the other companies it's your problem.
@noahw5887 yeah you should have. We test drove both the LX and the Hybrid. It was no comparison in every driving metric. Ride, Drive, Handling, Options and Interior.
@@trollbot3728 but the improved interior feel and sound doesn't come till the EX-L right or Sport-L model? I'm very happy with my EX but yeah my next one will probably be a hybrid, maybe they'll improve the efficiency down the line in 7+ years when I might look for another car.
The thing I never understood was why so many Cars with defects are sold, they should check and test every Car before putting it on the Market, seems like it would be more cost effective than dealing with these recalls, it must Costa fortune!
I just had a 2013 pilot get an engine issue that would’ve been 6000 dollars to repair. I also know others whose pilots crapped out on them. It seems to me Honda is great and on par with Toyota with small cars, but their large vehicles aren’t quite at that point. So I bought a civic lol
I used to work for a large city government fleet on the west coast. We had several hundred 1990's Ford Escorts. The older ones often used oil, and sometimes the oil level wasn't corrected quickly enough. Another mechanic showed me an Escort with a fist sized hole in the cast oil pan. He said the driver said the oil light had come on but she didn't think it was important and just kept driving, until the engine blew up. One of the big end rod bearings just let loose and whole thing punched through the oil pan. Ultimately they just totaled the car.
What shocks me is that there is no recall for the 2013 Honda CR-V for the VTC actuator, which also messes up the chain and tensioner. Not to mention that the engine burns oil.😢
Hello Mr.Kilmer!!! I bought a 1955 Olds 88 at age 14 with money from a newspaper route and from cutting grass.I practiced driving till the day I turned 16 when I got my learners license.Had to keep the learners license for 2 weeks then got my license.SHHH ush!!! Viewing in Canada! CHEERS
Same as the Hyundai engines a few years ago. Luckily our one had crapped out all the oil, and died. And the recall came out the next week. Hyundai shipped containers of brand new engines, which got swapped free of charge. In NZ
Several years ago I purchased a used Toyota 4Runner with low miles and (apparently) in excellent condition. I always took it to my local Toyota dealer for oil changes and "inspections". Well, last November the dealer (who had been under the truck for years) said "we can't change the oil because if we lift it the frame might break". ???? Found out that my generation of 4Runner was known for defective frames due to rust, and a multimillion dollar class-action lawsuit was going forward against Toyota in January 2023. Well...apparently Toyota had better lawyers and managed to get the case dismissed. Just found out that my frame is now broken. If Honda actually has the decency to recall and fix their vehicles, credits to them.
I had a 2004 4runner with the bad frame . Several Toyota trucks with frames had issues in the early 2000s . Ive seen Sequoias , Tacomas and that 4runner with early rusted out frames . The Rav4 and the Highlanders are Unibody hold up better in the rust belt .
True Scotty. Honda quality is no longer how it used to be which is sad coming from one of the best car manufacturers that was always looked upon as reliable for consumers. I’ll stick with my trusty 2005 Honda Civic EX, (189000 kms) and counting
Honda still reigns supreme in terms of reliability insofar as engines and transmissions are concerned; no need to knee jerk stance this issue that's magnified in literally every other OEM
@LGPanthers1 that's no excuse . Besides Toyota isn't all scoty makes it out to be either this day and age. Besides a morons old build anything better then Ford or GM etc.
If you want to buy a Honda, always opt for 4 cylinder engine ones if possible . Buy other brands if you need a bigger vehicle. This recall only targets the J35 3.5L V6 engine, not the 4 cylinders.
@LGPanthers1 the engine and transmission in a car are essentially the horse drawn portion for the carriage itself. If either has a problem, in this case faulty engine rod bearings that could potentially lead to the engine blowing up, it’s basically a horseless carriage that has little to no reliability. Yes, every car manufacturer has their share of problems, engine problems among them. It’s just unheard of with Honda, since they generally do have a good reputation for making some of the best engines in the world
4:29 In addition to what Scotty recommends, I would change the oil and filter after the first 1000 miles. While some say this is a holdover from days gone by and is no longer necessary, an oil change is cheap. I'd rather err on the side of caution.
2014 Accord, 43,000 miles, several VVT parts need replacement, strange creaking sound coming from the CVT (since 20,000 miles), and frequently peeling paint around the back window. Never had any problems like these with my 2000 Camry.
Never had those issues with my 2008 Honda Accord, that clocked over 300K miles before selling it. Man, what a car... Tho I remember my dad having to replace his 2010 RAV4s tranny, the computer failed too, and almost zero features because those are reserved for Lexus. What a POS car that was
'MISSING' .... 'MISSING' .... uuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhh .... that 'News' sounds highly suspect (Retired GM Dealership Parts Department Counterman 45 years summer of '21 Los Angeles and Orange Counties California 😎)
I was on my third Honda which was a hybrid. The hybrid battery went bad down to just a little over 50 % which turned the car into an acceleration slug. Honda would not replace the battery even though it was supposed to still be under warranty (a little over 50,000 miles. Battery was supposed to be warranted for at least 100,000 miles.) The dealer apologized, but American Honda said no. Battery had to be lower than 50%. They would replace at a cost over $8,000.00 I already could not accelerate safely to get on to the freeway. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A HONDA, AGAIN. Old Hondas used to be good. Not any more.
Bought an 1982 GMC Sierra 1500 with the brand new 6.2l diesel engine. The first week I had it, the printed circuit burnt out. With 1500 miles on it the engine started knocking. Dealer suspected a broken wrist pin? I traded it right then and lost $3500!
@OnlyMeee-gb5vv the recall was for RAV 4 battery hold clamp because some people buy smaller batteries than they should I have a 2016 and the last battery I bought was the same as the old one in size.
I got a 2020 Camry for my daughters. Airbag recall but no other recalls. Transmission shifts nice. Rides as good as any Camry I’ve been in. Guess I got lucky.
I have a 2006 Pilot, ~200k, and it's been rock solid. Getting ready to replace it but with what? Another Pilot or the better-equipped Palisade? Something else?
2000 Honda Accord owner here, 180k miles, only having issues with the auto transmission and I believe it's because all I do is stop 'n go driving. When it finally breaks I'll park it and give it a decent burial , because the price of repairs will be more than the car is worth. I'm constantly looking for it's replacement, probably will go with Toyota this time.
I had bearing fail on my 2002 Camry with 110,000 miles on it. Repair cost me $3000 then sold it for $6500 3 years later. I know Toyota makes excellent cars but that failure kind of put me off Toyotas. My current car is a 2009 Hyundai Sonata with 147000 miles. So far so good.
@jaysmith179 Hell some of the new toyotas are burning up over the battery being small. Atp we're fucked 🤷🏾♀️. And you can't say "buy an old car instead" when these new cars will be the old cars in the future.
Car problems seem to be pretty widespread now a days. We have been a Toyota Corolla family for years. Our 2020 Corolla started burning oil at 50,000 miles, a little less then a quart every thousand miles. I took it to the dealer to do an oil consumption test. At 1,150 miles into the test the low oil indicator came on, a little short of the 1200-1500 miles for the test. Took it back to the dealer. Tech said the the Toyota oil consumption spec a quart per 1,000 miles. Since consumption was slightly less dealer said there was nothing they could do. We have never had a Toyota that burns oil are pretty disappointed in Toyota. Also, I can't imagine burning this much oil over the life of the vehicle is going to be good for the catalytic converter.
I rode in a Tesla Uber in November 2023 and I got so jerked around in the back seat, that I completely changed my mind about getting a Tesla. Super bad suspension!
I don't know about Honda, but GM, Chrysler and Ford don't like to fix problems for free and are known to fight recalls. Of course, the automakers don't control their dealerships and we know how America works.
the honda k20 has somewhat the same problem. Rod bearings are narrower then the prior B-series and the s2000 F series etc. Alot of them throw a rod. You can fix it having a looser clearence in the rod bearings and put new tri-metal bearings
Idk about Honda, but KIA uses a precision tool that moves the rod bearing up and down at TDC using compressed air and vacuum through the spark plug hole. With this you can measure clearance in the bearings to thousands of an inch and properly diagnose faulty ones. I'm sure Honda has a similar tool.
Yeah, I kick out of my 3 boys! Oldest to youngest- 28yrs, 25yrs & 14yrs. The oldest 2 are always telling their “little”, brother “back when I started driving….”. I’ve been going 35yrs++ & trying to get out of driving every chance I can!!!
One of my cousins works for Honda Motor company in Ontario, Canada. He recently quit because he couldn't stand the quality control issues that he was seeing. He told me to never buy a new Honda vehicle. I guess he's on to something.😂
Scotty still recommends Honda cause he's living in the past🦖 .... he doesn't know that the modern Honda is garbage, it's a wonder Honda doesn't merge with GM 🤔
@@mxr572 With this was true, I had issus with a new Toyota Tacoma in 2020 and have friends who have had a ton of issues with their new 2022 toyota cars. Seems to be a QC issue with all the major auto companies. Some people get lucky and some people absolutely dont.
I can say the same about Toyota . I have worked there for 28 years now it isn't what it once was not even close. The QA issues are because of poor managment its all about cutting cost and build it as cheap as we can thats not the Toyota i once worked for but it is now thanks to the American management.
My 2010 Honda Accord i-Dtec mk8 has been nothing but trouble, predominantly because of it's DPF and EGR system. Every review and article raved about the build quality, the superb engine (one of their best ever?!) and the value of added extras. It's been one of the worst cars I've owned, with over £1000 in repairs in my first year of ownership. I'm learning to distrust Honda buzz. My old VW Golf mk5 was bullet proof and barely wanted for anything outside of brakes/pads and oil.
Auto makers are struggling so much these days. I've thought for years the cars are too complex too many distractions in design and then manufacturing, instead of focusing on solid builds its all about marketing...greater hp and better fuel efficiency.
Test drove a Mazda yesterday. Ford owned a share in them until around 2015, but not anymore. Pretty bummed about Honda. My 6th gen Accord lasted 3 timing belts, nearly 300,000 miles. Best car I ever owned.
I have some friends who are Honda technicians. They re-ringed hundreds of V6s with VCM related failures. Some dealers will be performing bottom end rebuilds as needed on these cars.
If your Honda falls into one of these categories and you suspect a problem, drain engine oil, run it to seize, put same oil back, trailer it to Honda dealer!
Dealers (or the techs) really have no reason to deny these Honda engine recall claims. The service center still gets paid by Honda for their labor for replacing the engines. So it's additional business for the dealer to replace the engines. They might get a lower rate, true, but its not nothing, and as long as it's an experienced tech doing the work, they can have them out in no time, and still make money.
I own a late model Honda and not at all happy about this major recall on Honda models (thankfully, my model is not mentioned) and the defective bearings possibly causing the engine to catch on fire. Very Disappointing from the the former, reliable Honda vehicles. SMH. I will never buy another Honda ever again. "Honda Quality isn't what it used to be." You are so right, Scotty.
I worked at a honda dealership for 16 years they took care of customers and did not skip steps rod bearings were not ignored in my shop there is not a business without problems
Was a Honda tech now I’m with Acura. Those connecting rod bearings r a serious issue. Got at least 5 customers a day coming in or calling for the concern. Mechanics hate doing recall work cus of pay and they’ll say they checked it and ship the car if the engine light isn’t on. It’s a scam really. For me I just always recommend to replace the bearings if I get a vehicle that qualifies for the recall. I won’t ship and car and get a comeback a month later cus I said it’s okay cus the engine light ain’t on yet.
Myself and two friends had 1985 Hilux trucks which ate 2.5 qts of oil every 3K. Toyota said "within specs" and wouldn't touch them. I wouldn't touch their product again. They had a bad batch of rings which didn't hug the cylinder wall enough letting oil into the combustion chamber. One friend walked in front of Toyota of Carlsbad for a week with a sign reading "my truck consumes 2.5qts of oil every 3K oil change". He got a new shortblock. My 2005 Pilot has 260K on it and is just now using 1/2 qt of oil every 5K. I'm looking at a 2015 CRV with the 4 cylinder and a real automatic.
Keep your eyes open for the next Honda recall. The have a run of defective steering assemblies that are having "sticking" issues when you try to turn the steering wheel. NHTSA already has an open investigation.
I bought an old 12 passenger school van. Late 1970s Dodge. I two toned the pant job. With a spray cans. Almond and teal. It turned out okay. Looked like a paint shop did it. That's before they changed the tips on the spray cans and the paint. I wouldn't do it today. I use spray paint a lot. The tips on the cans and paint aren't good. Take Scotty advice. No spray cans.
Bought a 90 Probe. Carpet very wet on shotgun side, I checked it out, not coolant not sweet! Coming from hvac box. Take it back to the dealer I got it from, pull the outside box, sealed it and reinstall it. Cool. Got to pick up car, oh that el be $886.00, I said no money no car, yep. This was a factory F up and I gotta pay? Paid, was on the horn to Ford next day. 2 days I received a check in the mail. The dealership is still in buss. St. Louis C. MO
Think you could say that about most makes.Thirty years ago a friend had a BMW,had a new later model loan car from dealer, and he,asked mechanic what the new ones were like.Reply was, "your old one is better,so keep it".
@@keithhooper6123 My 2006 BMW is still running. The engine is so smooth, it's like brand new. It's still quieter inside and rides better than a Honda of that year.
@@DroneStrike1776 Great.Sure it's better then the latest ones.Year after year there are more and more complicated electrics, that will cost so much to repair, won't be worthwhile. Then there are EVs!!!
I recently rented a new Honda CRV in December with the little mini turbo (less than 1,800 miles) Multiple issues with the car and engine sounded small and very rough like it was going to vibrate apart. I went back to rental place and exchanged for a Toyota RAV4. No more problems. Car had over 25,000 miles on in and everything worked perfectly.
If its getting old; that's a good sign that you should buy old cars instead of new, and then these type of videos that are getting old fast won't be able to be made... 😂
Hey scotty each car maker needs to submit a vehicle in each category & have them full up with gas with no oil change & then see how far they will reach before they break down...& then you will see which brand can manage neglect or abuse...before it reach their *breaking point*
Eons ago we got our learners Permit at age 14 and full license at 15. So after turning 17 you had 2 years of driving. Plus an extra year driving with another driver. It was a big deal to get your full driver's license. Basically nobody waited years later to get your driver's license. So at age 15 was doing deliveries by car so you racked up many miles experience. Drum brake era. No brakes going through flooded roads so pump the brakes and drive slowly.
I love it. What goes around comes around. All the loyal Honda a Toyota owners who, for the last few years, have been bashing Hyundai and Kia. No manufacturer is perfect, especially when foreign brands are built in the US by our illustrious UAW employees. By the way. We love our Kia Sorrento EX-Sport. 3.3 liter V6.
That's what I'm saying. New toyotas engine catching on fire because of the battery. These companies trying to find ways to make money now. Then these new cars will be the old cars in the future so atp everyone is fucked.
Scotty is the only one talking about this recall of Honda cars. If this had been an EV, the media all over would talk about. But an ICE catching fire? No topic.
I have a 2004 Subaru, and the recall notices to repair the Tacata Air Bag, is fkng relentless. I just have a bad feeling hearing about how new cars have the capabilities you just mentioned. And it just seems that the relentless attempt to get that done, is bogus! Any sources will be appreciated. Thank you.
In regards to the question to Scotty about the maintenance light on the corolla. I have a newer corolla (newer than a 2012) and the maintenance light comes on 5,000 miles after it was last reset, not every 15,000 miles. Scotty is wrong about the mileage. I'm pretty sure that all the newer corolla's (including my Dads previous 2005 corolla) are set up for synthetic oil and that it comes on 5,000 miles after it was last reset. When you get your oil changed a lot of places are supposed to reset that light and so its set up for oil changes/regular basic maintenance. He is totally correct though that nothing is wrong with your car when that light comes on, but it doesn't come on every 15,000 miles, its usually every 5,000 miles at least on the newer toyotas. Also, the way he describes to reset it is very true on probably all toyotas. I know how to reset mine even though I don't do it myself and I don't change my oil myself and pay a place to do it. But figured I'd put that out there. I know Scotty would never advise anyone to change their oil every 15,000 miles. I know I never would.
Jeep is doing the same thing with the shitty smart screens in their Renegades. I was doing some research for a friend who has one and from what I found Jeep (and thus FIAT) are aware that the console system is prone to electronic failure and malfunction and will NOT cover it under warranty even though it is a KNOWN manufacturing quality issue.... And they also won't address the issue at the manufacturing level because brand new Renegades are still being sold with the issue. The only way to fix it is a super expensive complete removal of the console and everything it's connected to. Needless to say I told my friend to sell his as fast as possible if he could and get something else.
Your funny. Um who from your family was in the service ?😢 Could help but notice. Lastly I've touched up and redone my previous car hood roof and trunk lid with arasol spray can and it was challenging. I was pretty good overlapping and all but it has a haze like effect once you move on which was hard to avoid, minor runs.. I wanted it to look better I clear coating it as well. Same method as described. As long as it took that way I was happy with how it turned out although if I spent extra time wet sanding certain areas it might have gotten it peftecto with no haze... I was able to match it pretty decently ❤. This was a few years back.
@@chrispeveler1578 The 2022 to 2024 Civic has a recall to replace the steering system because the tires can rub on the lower control arm causing the tire to blow out.

Scotty,
By any chance, are these recall VIN numbers from outside of Japan when they were built, in terms of these engines?
Now THAT is my kinda thumbnail Scotty! ✌🔥
At least Honda owns up to their mistakes and issues a recall. Remember Hyundai got fined for stalling on their recall for engines that would catch fire and subject people to possible injury.
If the rod bearings start going bad, they are going to start making a very distinct noise! At that point, the problem would be obvious!!
2006, when I got a brand new new Honda civic and 2 other guys at work did too ,all of us had the same motor problems

I was able to change them myself . the stealership did not tell me the coils are designed wrong .
I was still living the 2000s I guess
seems like the faster the assembly line goes, the worse the quality of the cars
They also sent a recall for a potentially bad fuel pump for I believe any model from 2017-2020. They are going to send it in February
@@jamiemcgill67 Couldn't agree more on the 2.4
This explains why I haven't been so busy at work recently, even though winter months are supposed to be our busiest time of year.
I remember years ago when the names "Toyota or Honda" meant 400,000 mile reliable cars. How did they forget how to build quality?
Too many turbos, too many hybrids, too many auto stops, and too many CVT transmissions. 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
My old 2006 Honda CRV has lasted me for years with zero malfunctions
Just normal wear and tear
My wife and I bought a 2021 Honda passport brand new off of the front line at the local dealership. After about 8,000 Mi the weather cool down and naturally the tire pressure went down when I began to air the tire it blew the valve stem out Steam out. When the local tire store broke the tire down there was a huge patch inside of it. The dealership accused us basically of patching the tire and begrudgingly replace the valve stem and sensor but not the tire. They claimed it came from the factory if we didn't do that
I wish there was a kit to convert cars to manual transmission and Scotty would love to test it. Then the cars with good engines can last forever.
I mean you can do a manual swap not that it’s not a pain
Well, Scotty at least Honda is recalling. They also have a big recall on fuel pumps. I remember my brother had a Honda Odyssey that had a transmission issue. Honda replaced the transmission at no charge for him but Chrysler/Dodge who had the same transmission told their customers no coverage, your problem. My neighbour had bought 3 Chrysler Town & Country minivans from the same dealer and they told him the transmission was not covered. I find the 2 companies that stand behind their vehicles are Honda & Toyota Most of the other companies it's your problem.
Just had my 2019 Honda HR-V totaled before that recall on those. Replaced it with a 2024 CR-V Sport Touring Hybrid. Love it. No recalls yet.
Just bought the same…I really love it. Joined the CRV Facebook page and everyone seems to love the sport-l and Touring Hybrid…I certainly do.
The CRV Sport L and Touring Hybrid are so good 🔥
I wish I got the hybrid!!!!
Hondas have been designed to burn oil for ages, how *much* is the question
@mackssrt Not really. I had a 1998 Honda CR-V with no issues. I also have four 2003 Honda CR-V, and they do not burn any oil.
@@mackssrtI have a 2013 Civic SI with 107k miles and no issues with burning oil for now at least.

Hey, thanks to this video and looked up my VIN on my 2018 Civic to find that the fuel pump may be faulty and there is no remedy yet! Thanks!!!
When you say several years.. how many years?
If you're asking how many years the dealer was servicing it and underneath it, between 2016 and November 2022.
Mine was newer than that. I'm still screwed.
@@medraut9 What year is your 4Runner specifically?
If You replace the head gasket when it fails it will last well over 250.000 miles, I still own and operate two of them.🇺🇸👍
If you want to buy a Honda, always opt for 4 cylinder engine ones if possible .

I have a 2015 Honda. Back when they had quality control in production.
Remember how good Toyota was before they started being made in America

That's amazing, much better than tearing it down, putting in some squish tape, re tourkinig, and so on.

Every older Honda owner will have an EGR problem. My friend's TL has been throwing EGR codes nonstop.
Honda diesels were no way as reliable as their petrols. And the 8th Gen apparently wasn't as reliable as the 7th Gen.
Auto makers are struggling so much these days. I've thought for years the cars are too complex too many distractions in design and then manufacturing, instead of focusing on solid builds its all about marketing...greater hp and better fuel efficiency.
Problem for the car industry is that most cars are now being 'designed' by accounts. Every thing must be made cheaper and less handling etc.
Test drove a Mazda yesterday. Ford owned a share in them until around 2015, but not anymore. Pretty bummed about Honda. My 6th gen Accord lasted 3 timing belts, nearly 300,000 miles. Best car I ever owned.

My 06 Honda CRV AWD 2.4 ivtec is a gem 💎... Best engine Honda ever built

If you’re car runs good keep it, don’t by any new cars
Was a Honda tech now I’m with Acura. Those connecting rod bearings r a serious issue. Got at least 5 customers a day coming in or calling for the concern. Mechanics hate doing recall work cus of pay and they’ll say they checked it and ship the car if the engine light isn’t on. It’s a scam really. For me I just always recommend to replace the bearings if I get a vehicle that qualifies for the recall.

Now they have a announced a recall on 2.6 million cars for faulty fuel pumps. Certain models from 2017-2020.
Why you not talking about the Toyota recall every other company but the company that pays you
Jeep is doing the same thing with the shitty smart screens in their Renegades.
The maintenance required light is programmed to come on every 5,000 miles. Change the oil, reset the light, rinse and repeat.
The 2023 Civic has a recall. Just bought the thing now I have a recall. Only have 300 miles on it. WTH.
Which civic?
@@chrispeveler1578 The 2022 to 2024 Civic has a recall to replace the steering system because the tires can rub on the lower control arm causing the tire to blow out.
