Brother Ever thought why russians support Indian views? There is a lot of International politics that common people don't understand.Additionally , making a design prototype is one thing but bulk producing the same quality consistently by Govt Factories is nearly impossible.
The recoil is ok . You cant aspect 5.56 rifle recoil from a heavy 7.62 bullet . 7.62 is 3 time heavier then 5.56. Rifle is ok only two things need to be improve 1st is magazine slot make it like m16 or galil ace 52 and 2nd is put a recoil pad to reduce its recoil impact.
Why this fascination for auto fire! A rifle in the 7.62X51 mm will not ideally be used in full auto as the powerful cartridge is not easy to control. Unlike video games or movies, trained professional personnel in real life situations do not fire extended long bursts, but rely on precise, aimed fire. Suppressive fire requiring longer bursts are given by LMG, MMG etc This class of weapons is a for a certain scenario. For CQB situations there will be requirement of a different class of weapons.
If we can't make our weapons , we can never be a military power on imported weapons . Both DRDO and Army must take it to heart . Army demanding perfect weapon even from the first version of any indigenous weapon is impractical and harmful to local arms industry and is also dangerous for Indian security .
Santosh Satpathy my dear sir, this is not a toy being demanded by the Army. If a soldier can't trust his rifle, he can't test anything. And certain parameters of the weapons trials just cannot be compromised. As it were, we have a heavy casualty rate in our armed forces. You get the picture right..??

I wish to see a bright future of indigenous defence manufacturing in India. But you can't cut off a tree by cutting off its leaves. You have to cut the bark. The main problem is with the middleman in the INDIAN ARMY. When OFB produced a very good rifle called the exacalibur , it was an excellent rifle and tested by the army. But suddenly army changed its decision and ordered for a ak caliber version although 5. 56 is better and exacalibur was a very good gun that could be mass peoduced

It looks like a good weapon but sadly thats all there is to it. What they have done essentially is re chambered INSAS for 7.62X51 and modified it to accept SLR mags. Real test would be to fire in burst mode. In single shots it appears to lift. Have a feeling that a bull pup design would offer better control over the lifting tendency
Range depends on barrel length, round type and grooves that are cut inside the barrel.... The amazing thing about a bullup is that it can get shorter without treading the barrel length, like if you take an ak and make a bullup version of it, it would still have the same barrel length but with shorter overall length....
yeah thats what i was thinking. Bull pup wpould make the rifle compact. Better handling. No change in range as it will still be a 7.62/51 caliber. But army does not favour bull pup as it would mean re training the soldier
Well, Aswin Rijhwani, our special forces use tavor though... But we need our usual force guys to have bullpup too, these gun factories should start to work on that or else we'll be lagging behind other country's forces on this segment too....
Bullpup has a lot of design challenges which is why it is not very popular despite being a modern idea... Moreover Indian jawans are tall with good arm lengths... They dont need bullpup guns for conventional use.. (Except cqb perhaps)
Army should not repeat the insas mistake... They should not adopt this gun (or any gun) without testing it till absolute failure and making sure that it will not underperform even slightly...!!!!
the INSAS prototype given by DRDO was better than what is produced now and more changes were also promised but once OFB started manufacturing it they really fucked the shit out of it
Chinmay Sharma no.if you give flash compensater instead muzzle brake... they'll have similar recoil.. But they are AR type rifles.. Generally considered more prone to failure..
Pakistan has selected cz bren 805 for army to replace old German g3 and they will produce approximate 5 lacks rifles in near future so it's necessary to replace the old insas with a new and effective weapon because it's guns which are used by Indian army whole year to protect the nation.

Malasala Kala bro G3 is an old rifle Pakistan army using the rifle from 30-40 years and for cz Bren 805 they have signed contract already for transfer of technology in ideas 2016 held in Karachi.
Pushpendra Rai ha woh tho theek ha india ne bhi Tavor R15 Italian Bullpups aur bhi bohat sari imported rifles khareedi ha mane tho yeh jawab diya tha ki india ne indian gun kyu banayi
Cz Bren 805 is comparable to the latest special ops rifle of us army developed by fn fall as fn-scar-l. Has very few stoppages like all Czech arms and costs much lesser than scar-l. Vz 58 had a greater fire power with fewer stoppages when compared to ak. The reason I mentioned about the venerable vz 58 is to highlight the adaptability and innovation of the Czech(or former czechosolovakia) fire arms industry in redesigning kalshnikov designs in their own unique way and making it even better. Similarly they adopted the fn scar designs pretty well into their existing cz-2000 model which is based on an older czechslovakian design called Lada. This shows their ability to manage and integrate soviet, eastern Bloc and nato designs into their assualt rifle manufacturing industry. Highly versatile capability for a small country. Now if Pakistan has chosen cz 805 Bren then it is for that reason alone. Weapons reliability, latest design and technology, combined with much lesser costs. Despite relying on German arms(heckler and Koch) all this while they still went for a lesser developed country's stock weapon. It implies they have done their search well. Great product at a lesser price. Would be interesting to know which version of cz Bren they would choose-5.56x45 or 7.62x39. Both would still be lesser powered catridges to their existing g3 7.62x51 catridges. Though even a prototype 7.62x51 was also made in cz 805 it was never marketed. What version and the reasons behind choosing that version would be interesting to know
Seems like it's firing a high power bullet with huge blow back. It's less accuracy to me but I got no real life experiance firing any guns. I watch videos of guns.
Why can't they just make rifles that look like other modern rifles...I mean it's working alright and all but they could use better rail systems and better mag layouts etc
Testing the penetration. Ever heard of ballistic gel? Just saying, if you wanted to be awarded a contract worth millions, is that how you would go about doing your work?

No full rails, no adjustable buttstocks , Its basically a 90s rifle ,, Even a small US cos makes better rifle than us ,,, Pathetic state of Ordanance Factories .
Dear Aravind 1. Buttstocks can be changed. 2. Rails can be added if required. if you have issues with the reciever or mags or something related to the rifle's core then complain about it
The mag housing is an old design, nowadays all housing are magwell design to equip the mags faster in combat, a second's difference in reload can take a soldiers life. Not to mention ambidextrous fire selector. I have seen many videos of this gun and haven't found to have it yet. Yes rails could be added but for that your rifle design needs to have equal leveling in the upper receiver section, the level itself doesn't match. Its just a rehash of the olden day AK design, while the AKs themselves have overhauled their own. No doubt with some modifications in the design the rifle can match the requirement standards, but not now. Remember Enfield also had a lot of problems with their L85 design initially, but after the MoD British entitled HK to redesign the gun parts, we are introduced to L85A2 and now L85A3 which is basically the same gun with improved parts. IMO OFB is in the same position as Enfield, It has definitely produced a potentially quality platform, but the platform needs other manufacturers to work upon for improvement. I am not sure OFB is willing to do so.
No target simply shooting at sand how will anybody assess its accuracy effective range etc,Simply do something to show ignorant public that we are doing something and not wasting tax money
Really, this is not a true and factual comment. The rifle in this video is showing the same amount of RECOIL that you will experience in any BATTLE RIFLE of its era.
doesn't look like it though. And obviously, the reason why the army and the MoD opting for foreign-made arms rather than giving homemade arms is still a mystery. The reason for saying "quality" and "reliability" issues is akin to making fun of indigenisation. There are more than enough weapons which cuts, but it's this marvel like spec need that lets things go astray, not to mention the red tape.
This is the most promising rifle of OFB. Should upload more videos with more trials and discussions.

Recoil seem to be lower than Sig
India needed scar type assult riffles
Yeah per piece is 2000 dollars .
Recoil could have been better , accuracy looks good.
Accuracy?. Bro they r just shooting at sands. It's not a accuracy test...🤣
WE DO NOT NEED TO GO OUTSIDE INDIA TO BUY RIFLES IF WE HAVE DEVELOPED SUCH RIFLES
Army should not repeat the insas mistake... They should not adopt this gun (or any gun) without testing it till absolute failure and making sure that it will not underperform even slightly...!!!!
the INSAS prototype given by DRDO was better than what is produced now and more changes were also promised but once OFB started manufacturing it they really fucked the shit out of it
Best for BSF ! jay hind .
Better than sig 716 low recoil reliability 😅
The recoil seems less compared to the other 7.62X51 rifles present across the world.
Brij ray that is what i m saying.
watch videos of galil ace 7.62x51 firing and you'll see what is the recoil of world class rifles. This rifle has excessive recoil
Chinmay Sharma no.if you give flash compensater instead muzzle brake... they'll have similar recoil..
But they are AR type rifles..
Generally considered more prone to failure..
It has more recoil and serious accuracy problem.
Please uploaded auto fire video..
Full auto please
The last cartridge got jammed .
Joy vishwakarma ...colt factory
our country make produced, but why can't new rifles& snipers rifle
shooting on to a target or just on a lump of dirt. wah bhi wah drdo
Look at recoil even in single fire and then full auto u can imagine its dispersion of bullets
Mahaj Mahir its 7.62×51 its very big not like 7.62×39 its ten times more powerful than AKs
thats a very powerful round
if you get hit by one of those in centre mass you will most likely die
Pakistan has selected cz bren 805 for army to replace old German g3 and they will produce approximate 5 lacks rifles in near future so it's necessary to replace the old insas with a new and effective weapon because it's guns which are used by Indian army whole year to protect the nation.
Pushpendra Rai German gun ko khareedne se ya banane se bohat paisa kharach hota ha aur economy par asar paddta ha pakistan ek bohat gareeb aur economy taraf se weak country ha unko zada farak nahi paddta German gun khareedne se kyu ki woh pehle hi bohat gareeb aur weak economy ha par india ki economy pakistan se 10 guna zada ha 2.6 trillion india apna nuksaan karvana mehnga padta ha par pakistan 270 million ki economy ha agar unka nuksaan ho bhi jaye ga tho unko koi zada farak nahi padde ga aur pakistan ke par khudd gun banane ke liye designer working research experiment karne ke liye bhi unke pass paisa nahi ha woh tho bechare China America ke paise se apna guzara bohat mushkil se kar patte ha is liye india ne apni gun khud banae ki sochi ha kyu ki india ke pas paisa bhi ha designers bhi ha workers factories aur raw material bhi ha aur india apni economy high rakhna chata ha
Pushpendra Rai aur cz bren 805 ki 5 lakh guns banabe ke liye pakistan ko 105375006568.21 matlab 1lakh crore pakistani rupess chahie sirf gun ke liye kya pakistan ke pass ithna paisa faltu ha ????
What version and the reasons behind choosing that version would be interesting to know
Everything is good but design is old looking, thats not satisfactory.Otherwise great
Hamne ache missile banaye par AK acchi rifle nahi Bana PA rahe
Seems like it's firing a high power bullet with huge blow back. It's less accuracy to me but I got no real life experiance firing any guns. I watch videos of guns.
Why can't they just make rifles that look like other modern rifles...I mean it's working alright and all but they could use better rail systems and better mag layouts etc
They don't even have a proper firing range.
what should a proper firing range look like?
GixxerFreak
NOT like that !
That's not the purpose of such ranges. They're testing the penetration.
they are testing the gun
You dont need "a range" to test something
you need "a range" to train
Testing the penetration. Ever heard of ballistic gel? Just saying, if you wanted to be awarded a contract worth millions, is that how you would go about doing your work?
This gun got inducted by CRPF.
Army must give it a 2nd chance
Jai shree Ram 😘
Auto kaha lekin auto nahi dikhaya😑
This sums up the whole job of OFB; shooting without target 😝😂
not like rifle sound silencer lagana padega.
The sound is not smooth n cocking lever is so hard
No surprise why india not have world class weapons. If they dont have world class facilities a sub standard factory can produce a sub standard weapons.
Yes but tha real war this gun stuck it goes to auto mode our Indiaa army rase problem so many times but we are making ak47in India Indian well not make our one gun
I think now ofb don't have any future today only army told that they are not interested in these rifels
recoil jyada h
Why no auto fire mode was shown? First the factory needs to be mordinized for those of you who have not seen the factory.
auto fire ?
have you ever fired a weapon?
that rifle is chambered for 7.62×51 NATO it will kick like a mule and throw the user of balance
the recoil will be twice as powerful as the AK
still heavy recoil
# 'DRDO' par money spend krna govt.ko band kar dena chahiye. .....
# Govt. Paise bachane ke liye 'indigenous assult rifle' program suru Kiya tha..Lekin is rifle ke research pe kharch krne ke bad ab "ak-104" rifle Lene ki soch rha he....???!!!!!🤔🤔🤔🤔😴😴😴😴
No full rails, no adjustable buttstocks , Its basically a 90s rifle ,, Even a small US cos makes better rifle than us ,,, Pathetic state of Ordanance Factories .
Dear Aravind
It's in testing man.. ji and that also by the company officials.
Your comment sounds like a rival company salesman.
Leonardo Alves exactly
Itna to Recoil har rifle deti h
Wrost or rejected rofle
No target simply shooting at sand how will anybody assess its accuracy effective range etc,Simply do something to show ignorant public that we are doing something and not wasting tax money
Another crap rifle by drdo... Untill private sectors are included as a competition, nothings gonna improve
Cheli Lombi ghandu this rifle made by OFB not DRDO
I hope TATA would develop some quality guns .
How do you know this rifle is crap?
have you used it ..?
Really, this is not a true and factual comment.
The rifle in this video is showing the same amount of RECOIL that you will experience in any BATTLE RIFLE of its era.
and they have no professional shooter
Too much recoil very stiff gun
The recoil is just too.much
It's recoil is less than sig sauer 719
doesn't look like it though.
Hahaha ye to tatti hai 😂
Most boring video.. We wanna see full-auto not that bang2
