I don’t know I feel like Riley represented the people like me the people that were extremely sheltered and loved but didn’t know that there was darkness in the world and then they started seeing a little bit of it and she always was a perfectionist she wanted to do everything right for her friends but she also was a feeler that created a problem for her I see signs of depression in both girls I think you’re right on the surface Riley can seem like a dense character but I think she has a lot of deaths if you’re able to see past that

I always thought that the reason Maya poured the smoothie on Lucas' head was because he'd been treating her as Riley, telling her the stuff he told Riley and just repeating everything he did with Riley, so she poured it to show him she's not Riley, she's Maya. The fun girl who sometimes does stupid things so if he wanted things to work he had to start treating her as Maya.
