You got to respect Zuko for that. It's kind of normal what he is thinking. It like when me and my sister watching zombies or end of world. Me and my sister both promised each other will kill each other fast if that happens if world ends or if one of us turn
@voiceful3050 Yeah, but it's a little unsure if Katara is powerful enough to kill him Since witj the exception of the North pole, she never defeated him Also, that means Ang will only do it when necessary Katara might become a little unstable
It would make more sense to just ask him to remove his bending like he did for his father, to respect Aang's wish not to kill anyone. Plus it worked to stop his father so it's not like Zuko could try to make the argument that it wouldn't work to do that on him. It's just bad writing to make it be that he wished for Aang to end him when that goes against Aang's beliefs so much he wouldn't even do that to Ozai. Ask for the same treatment Ozai got maybe, but you don't ask him to turn against his beliefs like that.
@@creasedhorizon8931If the other Avatars learnt how to do that then they would have had an easier life. Roku could take Sozin bending away and not have to kill his former best friend.
For those who are saying why is Zuko asking Aang to kill him and Aang agreeing to this is mainly so Zuko can be at peace with his mind knowing that it would be some to stop him if he ever became like his father and that is the main reason why Aang agreed to do it and the reason why Katara agreed with Zuko is because she knew what he was going through since she was going through it also when she was doing blood bending she didn’t want to end up like that old lady that taught her
See this is my biggest problem with the comics. Because even if it's a what if scenario, why would Aang agree to kill Zuko: his friend, when he didn't even want to kill Ozai (and that mf deserved to die). Imo Zuko should've asked Aang to take his bending and Lock him in a cell just like his father. That to me makes more sense and in character. Bc Aangs biggest character trait is that he respects all life all life and that he refuses to kill. Thats his Entire inner character conflict in the finale of ATLA.
I think the difference is that Zuko doesn't need bending to be deadly or powerful. We've seen Zuko do well without using his bending (Blue Spirit). I think Zuko believes that he would become worse than his father if he were ever to follow in his path. Just taking his bending away isn't enough to deter or stop Zuko like it did Ozai.
@@mohammadjunaid2683 I think its because Zuko saw how that wouldn't work. Aang took the cheap way out, and it legitimately caused problems. The people still loyal to Ozai plotting against Zuko and wanting to restore Ozai to Firelord, which leads to the majority of the stories of these comics.
While that’s true, I think that’s why zuko asks the favor from the avatar not aang I feel like both zuko and aang feared having a repeat of another war due to not wanting to take action against a friend
The Day Zuko starts acting like his father: Aang: I... I can't kill him! He's my friend ! Katara: (I knew it!) Fine! I'll do it myself! Aang: What? Katara: You heard me!
Zuko: Kill my dad! He’s a murderous psychopath with no redeemable qualities! Aang: NO. I REFUSE. Zuko: I’m your best friend and firebending master who helped you bring peace to the world. Kill me please Aang: Okay, fine…
So many people misunderstanding the point. Zuko was partially asking as he was having doubts and anxiety about his father. Fear of becoming just like him. The fact he's worried and wanted a failsafe of it happened shows that he's nothing like his father and more than likely would never become like him. Aang understands this about his friend. He wasn't agreeing to it as he would. He qas agreeing to help his friend. Katara also understood, why she nodded to aang. Help give their friend reassurance. Or at worse, if this was 100% literal, Zuko wouldn't want another Roku/sozin situation. He knows aang is probably thw only person who could stop him if it came to it. But i believe it was my first interpretation. Zuko needed reassurance and Aang helped him with it
It's annoying how she just can't forgive him even after everyone else did. And after all he did for her. He even saved her life on 2 occasions and helped her find her mom's killer. I'm so disappointed in her
And throughout this very story, at every little thing aang goes full avatar state ready to murk zuko at every turn. Especially when zuko realizes "oh shit, these fire nation folks have actually been here from during the war and shouldn't be evicted" and the freedom fighters were being braindead SJWs (looking at you smeller bee) for being descended from the wrong nation when an earth and fire nation town essentially became a hybrid during the height if the harmony project.
It’s not katara wants him dead she just understood how much this promise means to zuko as he fought so hard to get where he is as a person katara is compassionate it makes sense she gets it
I can understand why Zuko might want that. Remember the war only started was BECAUSE Roku and Zosin were friends and Roku showed leniency when Zosin went to far. That was probably the lesson he took away when he read the secret scrolls. My issue would be that Aang agrees even like this to do it. The conversation should have gone like: Zuko: "If I ever go to far, you have to promise to kill me" Aang:"I won't kill my friend. And because you are my friend I won't let you go to far. I'll stop you myself."
Its supposed to be a callback to Sozin and Roku's relationship. Roku witnessed Sozin turn into a nationalist and then dictator, but didn't stop him, which caused the events of the 100 years after. Zuko has had a fear of becoming like Ozai for a long time and this was I believe around the time Zuko started going to him for advice on how to be firelord (which, of course, Ozai was pretty much telling him to be like him). So Zuko wanted Aang to essentially stop him before he can fully turn into Ozai and start plotting for world domination again. Its pretty wild and out of character for Aang to agree to kill him though. I think a lot of people were surprised at this in the comics
This scene made ZERO sense. Zuko, who saw Aang refusing to kill his father and going all lengths possible just to spare his life, made him promise to kill him if he ever started acting like his father. Like, Aang can just take his bending away and let him rot in prison, you know, LIKE HE DID OZAI.

Im sorry but i found this so unrealistic for aang and zuko as characters. Its a bunch of bull to think zuko would bother asking that and aang agreeing because its completely disregards the entire point of aangs decision. It would have made far more sense for zuko to ask him to dethrone him or take his bending away, or have ozai go crazy in jail and murder someone or cause something to prompt a death sentence to ultimately lead aang to question his decision (which would undo the entire lesson of the finale)
Question: In a way, wasn't Sozin's idea a good one? He originally stated that he wanted to share the glory of the Fire Nation with the rest of the world. Had Roku held him to those exact words, the world of LoK most likely would have become the world that ATLA took place in, as everything would have become more advanced.
