I was in Buffalo for the blizzard of ‘77. You could walk up to rooftops on the drifted snow- helicopters dropped food- my husband got frostbite walking home from work. When the snow was cleared to drive, he got in his truck and said, “I’m going to California, you can come or stay!” I said, I’ll come if we can have a baby!” (There was a big baby boom 9 months later) Now I sit here with my beautiful grandchildren telling them that’s why they are here!!

I worked with a guy who grew up in Buffalo…he talked about a storm where the snow was up to second story windows. How do people live with that much snow?? Crazy, just the amount today. I love snow, but where I live now in VA, it mostly melts the next day or two, and doesn’t have that much falling to start with. Suits me fine, lol.
Yes I have lived through several of those here in Buffalo. The last bad one was Nov 2014.
I love living in the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes region, however this is the hard part.
This is better than massive flooding any day.

There was a big snowstorm in Denver, CO, on Christmas Eve, in the 1983, paralyzed the city, people were cross county skiing in the streets, bad fights over parking spaces you dug out it.
Just don't go out because you are not gonna make it.
You can drive if you are car person or car enthusiast. If your scared to push pedal not to get stuck then stay home. Also when ever you drive during snow storm make sure you drive with two wheels on a shoulder and two wheels on a lane, shoulder gets only snow so your tires will stick better rather staying only in your lane but Mericans are stupid

Lots of snow but not the over-hyped 6 ft.
only fools go out on the roads in these conditions. plows and emergency services are the exception. the rest are looking for problems.
I’ll take the heat/humidity of the South over this mess any day! I don’t have to shovel three feet of humidity off the driveway every morning.

It's a whole different ball game to live in those parts of USA. I never seen snow but I will next month in Reno. This looks hideous
This just like I remember from the early 1940's. Earth's weather has a 122 year cycle, we are about 10 years into the cold 60 years again, expect 50 more years of our weather continuing to cool. WWI and WWII were fought in bitterly cold weather, it's back.
Our fuel prices are headed towards $20 a gallon for nothing. Soon I will not be able to afford to drive my RV. Ron W4BIN
This is because Lake Erie hasn't frozen over yet. Once its covered with ice this won't happen.
The Lake water was 40 degrees so the cold air blowing across the lake brought heavy snow.
Stay home. Let the plows do their job. It’s impossible to drive anyway. So why do it?
