I enjoy weeding, always did and so did my father. He use to whistle while doing it too. After a rainfall is my preferred time because the weeds are easier to pull out and love the fresh smell of the ground after the rain. Great video. TYFS

Lovely. I appreciate how poetically you described the simple task of weeding. Haws tools are wonderful...perfectly engineered, made to last. I inherited my mother's Haws watering can and it's like a comfortable extension to my hand when I'm watering my containers. Don't fret about planting late. You have a long growing season where you live. (seems long to me...I live in Northern New England)

I’m right there with you, Kaye! I try to choose up to three things to work on everyday in the garden and yard. I’m not a homesteader. I don’t think I could do all that work! I started veggie gardening 12 years ago, and recently started in on my landscape. It’s a lot of work for one person.

You have to have a serious gardeners heart to do Zen weeding... But I'll admit a 5 gallon tank of propane and a blow torch does something for me. 😎

So, weeding is a meditation? Guess I'm missing out. I don't have weeds.
Is that audio backdrop a toned-down rendition of "Start Me Up" or just a co-inky-dink (coincidence)?
Might I suggest keeping a notebook and pencil or pen in your pocket to jot down "missed items" on your to-do list?

Are you planning to plant some small things like lettuce, spinach, and radishes in the onion gaps? It would be a shame to let that space go to waste! It's the freezing and thawing in winter that brings rocks to the surface. I love the way you keep adjusting you ball cap like a seasoned farmer! Better prepare yourself for cabbage worms, you will surely get them and they are a battle. If you don't have a good sprayer, it would be wise to get one so you can spray with Bt once every week or two.

I have mostly Bermuda Grass (AKA Devil Grass) and Silver Leaf Nightshade as my two top weeds here - plus a few pesky "Goathead" sticker/puncture vines here and there. I have to weed the grape vine area and along the alley behind the lot which also has baby tumble weeds. So need to use my electric weed-eater, and the big hand hoe.

I love Elliot Colman's hoe the best only useful when weeds are young .I have stirrup hoes and several others. I also like a warren hoe .KC was my tool sharpener and regret not learning and practicing the skill when he was here .I don't have any of your toys nor want them .I do have a riding mower and never use it or it's cart .,I don't like tools much that need electric or fossil fuels and mechanics that go with it. I use my troybuilt in spring or fall.I have no weedwacker but a couple of gas push mowers.. one with a grass catcher so I can use the clippings for feed or mulch. I have ancient tools from my grandfathers farm too. What I love the most about your show is how you tackle things in frount of you from your own perspective struggles and all and that relates to many just starting this journey.. That is why I offer people to come here and learn too
