    Regarding this, the good old TI-68 was much better regarding number of keys to type to these conversion. Also, we were able also to actually do computation with numbers of different bases in the same flow of calculation. Regarding that, no other calculator compares better to the TI-68. After that, it looks calculator-makers only think of "conversion" without realizing that "calculating" with the numbers would still be a good thing...

      Agree. But the market and demand takes control of what should be produced. It seems most students need conversion and people are getting lazy doing calculation with hand.

    What about Point Numbers?
    Can we compute something like this:
    52,4(decimal) to (binary) or (hex)
    Or something like this:
    11011,1010 (binary) to (hex) or (decimal)??

    • @equaser
      @equaser  6 лет назад

      No you can't. Only whole number such as 20 or 5 or 8 can be converted to other base system.

    • @lnascorp1
      @lnascorp1 5 лет назад

      @@equaser You mean fractions can't be converted to other base with the TI-36 procedure explained in the video right? The fractional numbers can be converted to another base manually using other methods, such as the "expansion method" I use the calculator to solve the whole numbers part and then use the expansion method for the fraction part (summation of the result of multiplying each number to the right of the decimal point by the base to be converted and elevating it to the power of -1 or -2 or -3, etc, depending on the position of the number)
      Thank you sir for this video!

    hey can you convert from one base to another? like base 20 to 10 and visa versa

    • @equaser
      @equaser  2 года назад

      You can convert to standard bases and I have shown them but not base 20.

    How do you change a binary such as 100.010 to decimal and vice versa? I keep getting a syntax error

    • @equaser
      @equaser  4 года назад +1

      I mentioned that this can't be done. You need to use pen and paper.

    what buttons will need to use to add,sub,multiply bases like 2123-405 in base 7 . By the way this video was helpful for converting 23 to base 2 it was helpful.
