Hi Everyone, We hope you enjoyed our video! Which camping membership would work best for? Do you have a camping membership you love but we didn't mention? Please comment below so we can all learn more about it! Safe travels and thank you for your continued support! ❤❤
Thank you for your video. We’ve RV’d for 40 years, first as weekend boondockers, with occasional campgrounds, but over the past 7 years mostly month long trips. We’ve stayed at Thousand Trails over the past 35 years. Very nice amenities, nice locations but the membership costs never worked for us. If we are going to spend a week near National Parks, or along rivers in Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, KOA is just as you say: Consistent but a little pricey ( although we stay at KOA 40% of our time). Harvest Hosts have been great for us. We love the wineries. We also book at state and National Park service run properties. There are a lot of lakes in their networks at reduced fees. Many are dry camping but many have hookups. You’ve helped convince us to add Passport America to our memberships. Definitely worth a try. And the RV LIFE APP has been EXTREMELY useful for us the past three years. I’m on it almost daily, checking reviews, trip planning, etc. Thank you for your video
Great video. Very informative, with useful info and honest criticisms. The only negative thing I noticed is if you pay a subscription or annual fee for membership the campsites are not “free”. The cost is just distributed among all the members.
Thank you for the kind words! That is true, there is an upfront cost. I suppose it's more like "no additional costs". Our thought process is we are minimizing the initial out of pocket cost by staying at participating campgrounds for free. We will eventually be staying free within the first year of owning the membership. Thank you for watching our Favorite Membership video and commenting.
Rv life is really good The Radius ring that you can customize. You can set the miles you want to travel, ( 3 rings , that you set ) and it will show those campgrounds.. This is a nice addition, so you don't overdo it
Hi Mike and Susan My wife and I received one year of Thousands Trails, we have so far visted 2, one was nice and one was really nice... We actually enjoyed being able to pick our sites... The Ranger in Virginia was Super nice, he showed us 3 different sites.. looking at the map does not take into account the terrain.. We were also told you can visit for the day, for us up to 10 people just to enjoy the pool, lakes, etc. We are leaning towards keeping just the one zone on TT and adding the Collection sites Great information as always... At some point we will be adding a inverter to our rv so we might check out the other memberships Thanks for sharing
Glad you are enjoying your TT membership so far. Love the visit pass idea...didn't even know that LOL! Good call on the inverter. Being solar powered has been a game changer for us! Thanks Richard!
This was super helpful, thank you! We are just launching into RV life, and I'll definitely be getting RV Life/Trip Wizard (and using your code), along with some of these others.
You guys supplied awesome information about the different campground plans that's available to RVers. We enjoy our pre-own Thousand Trails for those long campground stays. I started Harvest Host because Walmart is getting really strict and a lot of towns now have ordinance about over night parking. KOA are a given for us for staying really close to events or places of interest. The other ones you mentioned, we're going to check out to see if they fit our way of traveling. Thanks for sharing!! 💯❤👍🏽 Herbie, Mary, and Peanut.
Hi Herbie, Mary and Peanut! So glad you found our camping membership video helpful. As you know, RV travel can get costly so finding ways to save money is really important. We always look to saving some of that money at a campground. It's a balance between spending a little more because of a great location and cost savings at a lesser amenity campground. Thank you for watching our video and commenting! We always appreciate your support!
So glad you found our video helpful! There are many camping memberships out there and I'm sure they are very helpful. Hopefully people will comment some other great options. We are always open to learn others but at the moment these are our favorites. Thank you for watching our Favorite Memberships video and commenting.
My wallet has a 20 year old thousand trails membership,The RPI add on, passport America, America the beautiful, and good sam. I’m pretty much getting a discount everywhere.
We have the full package of Harvest Host, RV Life and Passport America. PA saved us over $200 at one campsite last year. We love HH and BW when we are traveling from place to place. And we enjoy RV Life for trip planning.
I'm so happy to hear how you love and save money using these camping memberships! Thank you for sharing your experience. And thank you for watching our Camping Memberships video and commenting.
We have a free one year regional membership we received when we bought our trailer two months ago. Have used it once with great results. Definitely agree the online reservation process could be improved, but the customer service agents are great in resolving any problems and the onsite staff were wonderful in making adjustments as well. We also bought the RVLife Pro membership and agree that it’s awesome in every way. The RV safe routing alone is worth the investment.
Thank you for your video. We were given a Thousand Trails membership with the purchase of our RV from Lazy Days. It seems that a lot of their resorts are not available. But, I won't give up. Thanks,
Some of their campgrounds fill up quickly, especially the more popular areas like Florida. We always recommend calling or using the chat feature. Sometimes you can shift your booking days by just a day or two and get a reservation. Don't give up! Thank you for watching our favorite memberships video and commenting!
Anvil Campground is a beautiful campground. Funny story...we were setting up in the dark and suddenly heard the loudest noise...I thought a plane was falling...it was a train! We were camped right next to train tracks but we were unaware since we showed up in the dark! 🤦♀️ Lesson learned 🤣 Thank you for watching our camping memberships video and commenting!
Hi Britt! Thanks for watching our Favorite Memberships video. Hopefully there is a membership that can make your travels easier for you and your kitty companions!
We got relive trip wizard. Fantastic. Thanks for the discount code and suggestion. We are also going to get Harvest host. A brewery about 2 minutes from me is a host. Point Labadie brewery. Good people good beer.
You're welcome! So glad you're loving RV Trip Wizard. We love using our HH membership. We have stayed at some great locations and met some really nice people. Thank you for watching our RV camping memberships video and commenting.
This is awesome this is the type of video that will separate you guys into another category of RV RUclipsrs. Don't stop doing the travel trailer reviews but definitely makes him some lifestyle RV living type stuff like this it's perfect. Great job guys Plus we need more of the misses out from behind the camera not that we don't love our 5 ft 11 shower curtain hating RV reviewer

Had to put everything to the test! Thank you for kind words about me (Susan) in front of the camera. I'm the introvert so it isn't as easy for me as it is our 5'11" SCH RV reviewer 🤣
I'm on social security & I can get into national & some state parks for free with my benefit verification letter. My son is a disabled veteran & he camps for free in Rocky mountain national park every year. I would rather see these parks first than have to pay money to camp. Do any of the memberships you mentioned give discounts for being senior citizen or a disabled vet? It would be great if they did. I'm 70 yrs old & still love to camp when I can.
There are quite a few options for discount camping for veterans. In addition to National and State parks, check out Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds (COE). They are beautiful and affordable. I know there are also military campgrounds that might in your area. Check out Today is Someday's video about Veteran Access to Military Campgrounds in this video ruclips.net/video/AWyAYOSbT6E/видео.htmlsi=ZgT8oDdAOtrgTQIp Phil and Stacey are both Navy and might have a few videos that can help. @@SF-ce1qn A Thousand Trails membership gives you access to all their campgrounds anytime depending on vacancy only. There are some limitations based on your specific membership plan but you have unlimited year round access.
You mention the thousand trails saved you $6,800. however you didn’t mention the cost of these. I realize you as a RUclips’r might get it free or at a discount, but it would be helpful to know the ballpark price, of course with the normal disclaimer, “prices will vary,” or whatever. 😊
Unfortunately we didn't not receive Thousand Trails for free or at a discount. They do not have an affiliate program with those types of benefits. We actually only receive a referral fee if someone mentions our name. We didn't mention the cost of TT because there are so many different plans to choose from, from packages to zone passes and new and used. If this is a type of membership someone is truly interested in then it's best to speak with a representative. Thanks Erin!
There are at least 4 tiers of Thousand Trails memberships with several add-on options. And there seems to be a big range in thousand trails pricing for each of those tiers. They have a number of partners and some of them price more aggressively with discounts, promotions, rebates, or whatever. There also seems to be a secondary resale market where people are reselling their memberships, but then depending on when the membership was originally purchased there may be a membership transfer fee to add. All of that to say Thousand Trail membership prices seem to vary a bit & as they said a comprehensive thousand trails video could easily run several hours…
Thank you for the kind words of support! So glad you found the video informative. Two great memberships there! Thank you for watching our membership video and commenting!

I have had the RVLife app and membership for over a year. Going on a trip to one place has been easy to plan. Trying to plan a trip to Canada next spring? I am completely lost and overwhelmed. Ugh.
You are having a difficult time planning a multiple stop trip in the RV Life app? Have you tried RV Trip Wizard trip planning on your computer or tablet first then open app on phone for navigating? We have a video to help explain how to do it ruclips.net/video/Xj9prH-hVaI/видео.html Please feel free to ask us questions. Thank you for watching our Favorite Membership video and commenting.
Thanks guys!!!! For passport America can you pay the full rate from Thursday till Saturday ? We work so we need a Sunday check in and Saturday check out :) thank you!! I also wish RV life was better with Rv safe gas stations.
Typically the discounts apply weekdays Sunday-Thursday but each location could be slightly different and there are no discounts during holidays. So you should get the discount rate until Friday (possibly Thursday) then pay full price. It's still a pretty good discount for those weekdays. Check the Gas Buddy app for RV safe gas stations. You can put the year make and model of your vehicle. We have a motorhome and can add that vehicle. If you are towing a travel trailer I would still use a motorhome as my vehicle so that it recognizes you have a tall, large vehicle. Hope that makes sense. Feel free to reach out with any questions. Thank you for watching our Camping Memberships video. We appreciate your support!
I got harvest host with the golf package in 2018. We have never used it. Now that we don’t have our tab 400 it’s time to drop it. I know a lot of folks like it. It was never something we wanted to do. Kind of bed and breakfast we don’t them either. Thanks
Yes and COE! Unfortunately we can't benefit from the military bases but have found some great Army COE campgrounds! Thanks for adding that option Rick and Darci!
Harvest Hosts are not free, it is absolutely expected that purchases of available goods are made. It is now advised to spend $30. While that is not a deal breaker, and I'm happy to spend for something I like, you can't proclaim HH as free. I do like HH, I've joined before and will again as I do travel seasonal. Btw, HH automatically renews by default unless that is turned off. The other comment you made is an ability to look at a HH site price of available items "menu", which I've not seen on the site. Perhaps a website search of the host business will do that.
It's free enough for me! And we are happy to support local businesses too. Not sure what you mean by the menu but I'll watch the video again sometime. Thanks for weatching!
@@KK38789 That's ridiculous. First of all many wineries have expensive bottles of wine. Second of all you are not required to buy wine. Third of all you don't have to buy anything - but it does help support a local business so we try to buy something when we stay. Sound like the video you saw was a little misleading.
Coast 2 coast premiere by far outways all of the ones your talking about! I have had so many bad experiences at thousand trails... they are trailer parks not resorts
True, of the ones we stayed, some parks in the TT membership are a bit outdated. But we've also stayed at some really nice ones too. Do you travel often to see many of the Coast to Coast campgrounds? It's certainly something for others to consider. Thank you for mentioning. And thank you for watching and commenting!
I stayed at one in Portland OR and it was a dump! Totally turned me off to even considering TT. The staff was rude and the full-timers living there were allowed to let their grass grow (they were responsible for mowing it!) and have trash, junk, broken down vehicles, etc around it.
@@mur6822 very understandable. TT works with many outdated and older campgrounds in desperate need of repair. We wish there was a higher standard. We read the reviews and check campgrounds out using google maps to be sure it's some place we feel comfortable staying. There is great value in TT just have to avoid that bad ones. Thank you for your watching our RV memberships video. We appreciate your support!
We have been 1000 Trails Members since 1982 and it is terrible for charter members. We have tried to stay at many and they only have so many sites for 1000 trails members. When 5here is no sites available you can get a retail site and pay regular price. Too many allow monthly and long term campers who make the sites look like a dump site. Come and stay at other ones. You will have a different view if you travel and check out other sites. Try Soledad Canyon in California or the one in Cottonwood in Arizona. The management only cares about money not the members.
You've made some really great points! I'm sure you have experienced the biggest change (and disappointment) over the years. TT does need to improve on somethings like website, booking and campground requirements. We've been mostly happy with the campgrounds but haven't been to enough to make a blanket statement. Thank you for watching our membership video and commenting!
Tough question. The Adventure memberships has a lot of great benefits but comes at a much higher cost. I believe your booking window for Encore parks is longer with Adventure than the 60 day Connection membership. That's a bonus too. A lot also depends on where you plan to travel most. Florida, for example, is really challenging since it's the meca of RVing for snow birds. The three TT resorts and many Encore parks throttle you either because they are booked, delayed due to booking window or are considered "high use" times limiting your ability to make a reservation. It might be best to ask someone that has an Adventure membership how they are benefitting from that membership. Sorry I couldn't help more.
This may sound petty, I don’t agree with the “camping for free”; you prepaid. Harvest Hosts is a hard one because you’re paying at least $50 for access to their list, then you’re expected to purchase something. I like the convenience & the opportunity to stay In interesting locations.
True, you have to pay an upfront cost for any membership, but if you use them enough you can eventually camp free. As for Harvest Hosts, even if I make a purchase, it is still less money than a campground. But you are right...nothing is completely free. Thank you for watching our Camping Memberships video and commenting.
Don't blame you there! Thank you for sharing your favorites. And thank you for watching our RV camping memberships video and commenting. We appreciate your support!

We know a little about Coast to Coast camping membership. I wish the website was a bit more informative, like what is the initial cost, renewal cost, how many campgrounds in total in the US. How long have you been a member? I'm sure it has it's benefits. Thank you for watching our RV membership video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
That's fair. Many of these memberships apply at campgrounds, as well as RV parks. Thank you for watching our RV camping memberships video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
I agree. I live in the woods & when I travel I prefer LOTS of space between myself & neighbor. Like state parks or virtually empty parking lots. A few times, I’ve had to stay at an “rv park” if I had an oil change the next day or a planned stop over while traveling. NEVER once thought to myself “wow… let’s do that again” ..😆😆
Yeah ok but you know what I mean and so does everyone else. I assume most of our viewers ( including you) are pretty intelligent and understand what we are saying.

I got harvest host with the golf package in 2018. We have never used it. Now that we don’t have our tab 400 it’s time to drop it. I know a lot of folks like it. It was never something we wanted to do. Kind of bed and breakfast we don’t them either. Thanks
That's fair. It definitely isn't for everyone. Thanks for watching our Favorite Membership video and commenting.
We also love military bases
Yes and COE! Unfortunately we can't benefit from the military bases but have found some great Army COE campgrounds! Thanks for adding that option Rick and Darci!
@@RVBlogger we have just learned as a disabled veteran that we can stay up to 10 day’s free in state and county parks around the US.
@@RickandDarcirvadventures what an awesome benefit. And well deserved. Thank you for service! ❤️
@@RickandDarcirvadventures don't forget about the national parks.
I saw a blog where a couple did HH at a winery where one bottle cost $70. Not any savings there
@@KK38789 That's ridiculous.
What do you recommend for a Winnebago Solis 59p?
What camping membership do I recommend for Winnebago Solis?
Yes,
Which 1000 trails did you get? Connection or adventure
We have the Connections membership. Thank you for watching our favorite camping memberships video and commenting.
@@RVBlogger is Adventure worth getting because of the 21 day park to park
So for a single guy rv go with rv life and harvest hosts?? Im trying to stay away from cities unless restocking..

TT are not even available on Missouri
Nope they don't have locations in every state. If you typically camp close to home TT is probably not for you.

Please do yourself a favor check out a coast resort!

When you say you are ‘staying for free,’ that’s not true. You are staying because you bought a membership. Big difference.
Not really but ok. Hopefully you get the idea.
I thought the same thing...
We don’t like RV parks. We want to go camping in actual campgrounds instead of parking lots.
@@melissal3383 it's definitely a different vibe. We prefer privacy too.
