OSMW Fifty Six (glow powered demo flight)

  • Following up on the electric demo flights posted a few weeks ago, here's a demo one of our glow powered Fifty Six prototypes - this time powered by an older O.S. 30 2-stroke. Plenty of power for training purposes, as well as some barnstorming aerobatics.
    Specifications:
    Wingspan: 56 inches
    Wing Area: 560 sq. inches
    Length (airframe only): 41.5 inches
    Weight: 3.5-4.5 pounds RTF
    Radio: 4 channel
    Power:
    • Glow (.19-.35 engine)
    • Electric (equivalent brushless motor, 40+ amp ESC, 3-4S LiPo)

    Thanks for posting the glow version video! I learned to fly on one of these many years ago, it would be nice to have another one. and thanks for not over powering it, makes for a lighter and easier to control model, more like the original!

    Nice video. Thanks for running a nostalgic engine choice as well! I'll bet an old Fox 25 would be a good, docile engine choice.

    I powered mine with an OS 40-MAX. I first tried an OS25 but found it underpowered. Perhaps it was just a weak engine, but I’m quite happy with the current setup. The Falcon also makes a great trainer IMHO. Aerobatics seem to be limited only to the skill of the pilot.

    I want to thank you for the video, specially for the Engine choice. Thanks for not use an os 55! 25/30 its the best choice. Not need more. What about a 4 stroke now? 30 saito? 40 fs?
