  • Learn how to make Mason jar bath salts in our latest Craft Corner video. In order to make this, you will need:
    - A mason jar
    - Epsom salts
    - Dried rose buds
    - Food colouring
    - Essential oils
    - A bowl
    - A spoon
    - A funnel
    - Glue
    - Scissors
    - A pencil
    - Some fabric
    - Twine
    - Tiny wooden spoons (optional)
    - Alphabet stamps & luggage tag
Step 1: place the funnel in the top of the jar and add cupfuls of the Epsom salts to just below the top
Step 2: Pour the salts from the jar into a mixing bowl
Step 3: Add the rose buds and a small amount of food colouring to the Epsom salts and mix together
Step 4: Add in the essential oils, a little goes a long way!
Step 5: Place the jar into another bowl and put the funnel in the top of it. Then decant the salts back into the jar.
Step 6: Finish off with a handful of dried rose buds or petals
Step 7: Use the flat part of the lid as a template to draw round the wrong side of a piece of fabric
Step 8: Cut out carefully then glue to the top of the lid
Step 9: Hand stamp your chosen fragrance or message into a luggage tag
Step 10: Tie to the neck of the jar with a piece of twine

This gift should come with a bathtub strainer to prevent clogging your drain... but other than that it's a great gift idea.

Thanks for your video. What would be the name of the small seeds you added with the food coloring and where can I buy them? What color food coloring did you use? Where can I buy the small wooden spoons. Please list the name brands of the items you used and where they can be purchased. This will make an awesome gift! Great video! Thanks again for sharing!

The "small seeds" looked like dry lavender to me, but she said they were rose buds. Either way you can find food grade floral online (amazon and the like) or a health food store like Whole Foods.

The little "seeds" are dried lavender flower buds. You can get them at: www.bulkherbstore.com She added rose buds on top you can get them from the same website I provided.

It's better to actually talk through the video instead of loud music and small words. I still like the finish product though

Honestly no one really talks about how you shouldn’t put your mix in a jar right way because one it will clamp together and/or become a huge rock of epsom salt. The best way to do it add all the mix let it dry over night shake it up a bit and then put it in your jar and yes you have to be careful the amount of essential oil’s that you add

Drop the bloody dry lavender buds in without taking so long wasting my time and put the exact quantities of ingredients used don't just wear make up an sit pretty for a video. Also please tell people that all the dried stuff might clog the draining pipes not just the positive sides of your recipe.
