This morning, it occurred to me that I think something every time I watch your videos but have not relayed it to you. I spent over 30 years in pretty high end NY advertising, filming and producing commercials all over the world, and working with some of the world’s best ad agencies, production houses and directors. Every time I watch one of your ‘home grown’ videos, I am impressed with all of the behind the scenes and production values that may go unnoticed by those who just love the content. Laura is always very well prepared, having assembled all she needs prior to filming, even arranging it to camera. She’s studied up on whatever the topic is, as well, and while not ‘rehearsed’ per se, is comfortable enough with the subject matter to proceed and film without repeating herself, no umm or ahs, and an even steady cadence of delivery. (She is best when speaking conversationally from her chest voice rather than more shrilly from her head voice), You’ve avoided all the amateur traps -tedious intros, vanity shots in the lead in, or poorly designed branding. Laura just says hi and dives right in. When one watches these videos every day, a long or over produced intro is torture. But as good as Laura is, Aaron may be the unsung hero here. The camera work is seamless and intuitive to the viewer, i.e., close ups are inserted exactly when the viewer wants a closer look, drone shots are solid perspective establishers (as well as visually stimulating), and the many camera set ups per video which are so cumbersome to execute, greatly enhance the quality of each video’s production. Post production is thorough and elegantly done. References Laura may make verbally are always paid off either onscreen or below, making these videos reliably informative as well as entertaining. I’ve branded some of the largest corporations and smaller businesses as well, and am also enjoying watching you both finding your footing with your own brand and how it is manifested. I suspect you were not branding experts when you began. But you’ve taken care to stay fairly authentic to who you really are as individuals and as a couple and family, and that will always keep you on the right path. Gentle banter with each other (the mechanical sounding correction of Laura’s mispronunciations, (‘obelisk’ was genius) reveal your comfort with each other, a likable approachability, and gives us insight to your relationship as a couple. What is most interesting to me is how wisely you are walking the paid endorsement and sponsorship line. You are fairly open and honest about the companies you “work with” and the viewer is marginally aware that you are paid shills to an extent, but the videos take care to reference this casually and often enough that no one feels duped. So, I just wanted to say well done to you both. I just watched a woman dig three holes and shove three tiarellas in the ground...and enjoyed every minute. Go figure! (And congratulations. And thanks!)

Like so many others, I too agree with your comments. In all aspects. I just hope that they don’t end up being gobbled up by the “sponsorship of products”, and lose their personality. Then having to promote something that might not be “them”. Because this is perfect as it is. I have noticed this happening on some other very popular home improvement channels, and it loses the original charm that won us over in the first place.

I immediately ordered 3 of the Eye Spy Heucherella & they’re blooming! Have to wait to plant them until this polar vortex nonsense passes through. I’m on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls.

Hi Laura! Thanks for your informative videos. I've learned lots from you that has most likely saved me quite a bit of headache. I've noticed in some of your videos where you are needing to dig through roots that you don't use a shovel called a "root slayer ". This was recommend to me by a professional gardener and I'll never go back to digging with just a regular shovel. Anyway, just thought I'd suggest it, but maybe you have reasons for not using one? Another thing I'd like to see a video on from you is about astilbe. Do you grow those in your area? Thanks for your time.

Could you do a video dedicated to planting dahlias? I really want to grow them but would love to see how you do it!

I love the look of these plants! I've got some older heuchera that look small and have long, woody stems. Do you have any tips for rejuvenating mature heucheras? Thanks for all you do!

Love these plants, just wondering if I could plant them in front of a water feature? Because the water kinda splashes a little, would it be to wet for these...Thanks for all of your ideas. Stay safe!

Don't forget Brunnera, specifically either that Jack of Spades or Queen of Hearts cultivar. They're beautiful.

Beautiful plants, I’ve always wondered if they get too big (heucheras) can they be divided and if so when would be best to do it?🌷🤗

So excited to see you adding to all of your shady spots. You mentioned you were going to leave room for annuals. Can you suggest some good annuals for part or full shade? Thanks for all you do!

Thanks for this one. Love the pink blooms. Don’t know what made me think of this 😂 but does Aaron ever bring you flowers for Mothers Day, Birthdays etc as a surprise for a vase or to plant outside? Just curious. ❌❤️
