I agree! I also had the choice between the 966/965 and I went with the 955 because of the MIP display. Big plus is that it is also cheaper. Would be interesting to experiment with a AMOLED display watch in the future to compare. Thanks for watching!

Do you think you could do a 100 mile ultra with this watch? I know garmin lists the gps life at 42 hours but in your personal experience with the watch do you think a 100 is doable?
I think that it is certainly possible. In fact, I have seen another RUclipsr (Chase The Summit) use the 955 during his 100 mile race. If you have it in the "GPS Only" mode and turn off bluetooth, it should make it!
I had no issues whatsoever! In fact, I was pleasantly surprised by how quick and responsive the screen is to tapping and scrolling for being a MIP display.
I think the Enduro 3 is the best value Garmin watch currently on the market! I appreciate that Garmin kept the MIP display. They also made improvements to the solar panel and battery in the watch to allow it to have some of the best battery life in the industry. It is also important to note that Garmin dropped the price of the Enduro from $1099 for version 2 to $899 for version 3. Both are extremely reliable options in terms of GPS and HR accuracy (although the Enduro 3 has the newest Garmin HR sensor). If you want the extra battery life, solar, and updated user interface in the Enduro 3, I would say it is certainly an excellent buy!
Yes, as of now the Enduro 3 seems like the best value for money in Garmin's whole lineup! Definitely more expensive than the 955 but it sure packs a punch in features even compared to the new Fenix 8 lineup.
The largest difference between the 955 and 965 is the display. The 965 has an AMOLED display (similar to an Apple Watch) while the 955 has a MIP display. It really all comes down to personal preference because as of now, the features on both watches are nearly identical. I went with the MIP display in the 955 because I preferred better visibility in direct sunlight and better scratch resistance. Hope this helps!
The Garmin 955 has a few different satellite modes. GPS only is the lowest accuracy. All Systems On is the middle ground, and Multi-Band GPS is the highest level of accuracy you can get in a GPS watch. The 955 has Multi-Band, meaning it leverages multiple satellites to get you the best signal. Hope this helps!

@@darsatdays749 You are not actually able to select which specific satellite system the watch is using, as it is done automatically. According to an article online, it switches between GLONASS, GALILEO, BeiDou, and QZSS based on which signal quality is the strongest.
@@darsatdays749 The 955 supports GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, QZSS, BeiDou, and IRNSS (NavIC). SatIQ ("auto-select") is a great setting imo : good balance between accuracy and battery life.

MIP is always on even without backlight. Oled develop burn in so with time it will fail.
