Thanks for following along mate. I typically just place a marker wherever I leave the car. GPS is typically pretty good in the bush. There aren't too many bushland areas in Victoria (especially the golden triangle) where you can walk for a km or so and not find a road. So the odds of getting proper lost a small. Better safe than sorry though.
Almost lost it at the fake nail prediction.😂 Congratulations on the upcoming arrival of baby no.2. Thanks for sharing your camping trip out its got me inspired to go out with my boys..haven't pulled out the camp gear in a while. Cheers Richie. Keep up the great videos. 🤙
@i_dig_it_melbourne Thank you! Whirlwind on the horizon im guessing... I had no idea what it was until I actually picked it up haha Hope there are some nice spots close by. Water source is even better this time of year. Thanks for the encouraging words. All the best in the field 👍🏻
Good times mate, no luck on the gold but that camping area was awesome. I've walked the banks at's Bridgewater from the evening into the night and done well with stump jumpers, you get the cod and yella's hitting the lure from the logs, awesome to see. There's gold in the Lodden at Vaughan, but that's about it I'd say. Happy hunting on your next trip. Cheers Pete
@PetesGoldAdventures Cheers Pete 👍🏻 I'm a wannabe fishermen so I appreciate the tips. I'll give that a go next time. I was surprised by the amount of quartz in the river. Should have brought my pan to soothe my interest. Thanks for following along mate and good luck in the field.
@ramblinburdenw4563 Thanks for following along mate. I did see a few carp as I was walking up the river. I know there are some good golden perch in there too. Hope you get onto some in the near future 👍🏻
Damn Ritchy you are CERTIANLY the GOURMET Smoked salt , Fillet Steak Craft Whiskey , and Lindt drinking chocolate for Breakfast. Living high on the HOG as they say🍹🥩🍵. Interesting video , nice camping location , right on the River ❤👌.
@christianmclean3331 High on the hog hahaha I like that. Yea, there was a fair bit of indulgence going on. My waistband is feeling it post Christmas... Thanks for following along mate 👍🏻
@adzoutnabout888 Thanks for the ID mate 👍🏻 I agree with the idea of a hat. Normally it's a struggle with the headphones and a hat. But a no brainer when through the external speakers.
Nice video Rich , looks like a good spot to camp ! but the fish not interested in the lure , maybe try some cheese on the hook and place it down beside those sunken logs , yep fish for dinner !! Cheer's
@shanedoyle3444 Thanks mate! I have tried that in the past and been cursed with endless carp. Worth another shot though. That was quite a few years ago. Place was beautiful mate. Very lucky. Cheers for following along 👍🏻
@pkgoldopalhunting Sorry to hear that mate. It can be very hard. I have found Rushworth particularly difficult. Been there 4-5 times and no luck. Hope you get that first nugget soon. I try to scan an area for an hour or two and if no luck move on. Once you get gold, you can slow right down. What machine are you using?
@@BendigoGoldProspecting we both got gpx 4500 we did owe home work scanned out a lot of spots , diggings surfaced areas , mullock heaps , spend 4 to 5 hrs at 5 different spots in the area, always rubbish, have tryed around the whipstick a couple trips back with a monster 100 but no good , we tried few different settings coils om 4500 as well, what area do you suggest to try not giving away your spots put put us on the path to first pit nearly ready to give up and stick to panning
@pkgoldopalhunting If I was you I would give south of bendigo a try. Not so much with the 4500 but with the monster. Any of the mullocks within a 1.5km radius of diamond Hill road. Look for mullocks that have a good quartz percentage, not just slate. You should get something. Hard with the 4500 as most of the obvious big stuff in worked areas is gone. If you are going to use the 4500, probably better getting away from the diggings into areas people don't frequent. Most of my bigger nuggets have been in virgin ground away from diggings. Screamers from the top that any machine would have found.
Great clip how do you not get lost, and you said car did Tarnagulla tracks in my Kia Cerato

Hat on the hot days mate, keeps the scone from getting cooked.
The birds nest could of been a Pee-wee by the looks.
