Gaming is so subjective, so for me the theme is what drew me in. I guess I tend to like food as a theme. Ex.- we play Veggie Garden, Filler, Wasabi, etc. I also like the look of the cards, but scoring does sound fiddly. Enjoyed the video Zee! Thanks!!
I wanted a "Zee's top 10 vegetables list!" I kinda like the looks of this one. A more flexible card spraying game in that you don't even have to overlap, with an Arboretum feeling majorityscoring. All people scoring each produce type makes you think! I definitely see what you mean about last player advantage though! Too bad they didn't come up with a way to do a simultaneous reveal. Or maybe draw a card at the end of your turn instead, then you finish with 2 cards and get to play one at the end like Piepmatz.
This one seems like it could be downright painful. Imagine people trying to calculate the score before they placed every card. This one doesn’t look like it’s for me
Reminds me of Rat Hot Scoring is different, and each player has his own area, but the whole stacking and laying adjacent like items and covering up rats part does.
I feel like Zee is way to harsh with this game, it is and introductory game that allows people to have good 10 minutes of a game and quite simple to lay, scoring is no big deal all you have to do is get a calculator to add your points that is it.
It makes me a little sad that all of these got bad reviews since devir games tend to be a little cheaper than other releases in my country and I do love me some micro games. Oh well, I will have to stick to buy PnP of the button shy games 'cause shipping for those would be like buying a big box game.
@@Alittlefruitgoesalongway oh yeah, I have it in my collection. It's just that I'm a fan of games that are pure cards so this line had me intrigued. Still, veggies with the original rules sounds pretty good. Will have to check it out a little more.
I actually played this before reading the review and i did like it. Its actually a great intro game or warmup game and it does have some strategy when you start playing with groups of 3 and 4. Scoring honestly was simple, just get a calculator form your phone and thats it.
It's so great that you cover so many "small" games like this! Thanks for all your work and insights.
Read the title and thought "Damn, Zee not only reviews board games, he reviews vegetables as well?"
I’d like to know how he rates bitter melon

Really well done Zee! As a designer, this is super insightful!
For those who like these spatial tableau 'patching' games, what are the recommended ones? Cafe? Hanging Gardens? Other? Thanks.

It upsets me that the writing on the play mat is upside down on the video
Does the dot in the rating system mean neutral and the minus bad?
Reminds me of Rat Hot

Why are there berries in this veggie game?
I was going to say those red things were tomatoes and the purple things eggplant… but nope. Strawberries and grapes.
@@Poiuytrew.Q Tomatoes are fruit as well tho 🤔

This reminds me of Circle the Wagons by Button Shy, but less fun 😀 Thanks, Zee.
Thanks for mentioning Circle the Wagons. That does look good! Though I think this one has potential too.

I really like Red Cathedral by Devir. It's more involved but still pretty fun if you like medium-heavy weight games

Alright it’s too gamey for Zee, that means I’ll like it.
Not at all what he said or meant
Zee is pretty negative about this one, I don't think I will ever going to play this.
