Kaliningrad is becoming detached from the Russian power grid. The county has already sent many soldiers to Ukraine and the air defences are now protecting Moscow. Kaliningrad looks to be joining the Baltic States and where does this leave the Suwalki Gap. I wonder what Lukashenko is thinking about now? Transnistria is already accepting it gas supply from Europe since Russia left it shivering.
If/when they can defeat Russia's security forces within the country, then we will see. Otherwise, pipe dream.

Great interview. Totally agree about the point that Ukraine should drop the idea of US troops being in Ukraine. I am 100% in agreement with more US military aid (would love to see 100's of more Bradley's sent) but the easiest way to erode support for Ukraine would be to send US troops, especially 18 to 25 year olds when even Ukrainian males that age aren't conscripted.

Well it's ridiculous for him to continue to say that Trump will pressure Europe to release the 300 billion because in the last few days Trump has rescinded sanctions on oligarchs. I like this guy's thinking. There are some details to sort like the Zaphorhiza nuclear power plant which should go back to Ukraine.
Wouldn’t a “just peace” deal mean that Ukraine joins NATO now? Hasn’t Ukraine lost enough already in terms of lives, homes, schools, businesses, orphaned children - just the sheer trauma of war - all because of Putin’s/Russia’s invasion? And if that’s not bad enough, Ukraine could now be asked to make a deal that says something like, “Give up Crimea and Give up joining NATO for self-defense - or be cut off from U.S. financial support for war.” That seems inhumane. Russia, the U.K., and U.S. promised Ukraine “Security Assurances” if Ukraine gave up its right to have nuclear weapons in the 1990s. In its invasion of Ukraine (non-nuclear nation), Russia (nuclear nation) blatantly ignored the Budapest Memorandum - which relies on UN Security Council (UNSC).
But with this war, we learned how the UNSC could not assure Ukraine’s security, because Russia has veto power on the UNSC! Russia’s single “No” vote was able to block passage of a UNSC Resolution to stop the aggression and remove Russian troops from Ukraine. (The UNSC vote occurred on February 25, 2022.) Russia is 1 of 5 permanent UNSC members. And in order to pass a UNSC Security Resolution, all 5 permanent members must vote “Yes” or abstain; if any of the 5 permanent members votes “No”/against a proposed Security Resolution, then it fails to pass. (See: “Russia Blocks Security Council Action on Ukraine,” U.N. News, February 26, 2022.)
This is why Ukraine really should be free to join MILITARY alliances OUTSIDE of Russia’s veto power. Russia can’t veto NATO.

Security guarantees are worth diddly-squat. Ukraine had those before and all it got them was the loss of Crimea and a 3yr war (and counting). If NATO membership is blocked (by countries, some of which perhaps shouldn't be in NATO themselves), then Ukraine must be permitted its own nukes - nukes it should never have given up in the first place. Russia, of course, is opposed to both NATO membership and nukes for Ukraine, but to be talking of them giving up 20% of their sovereign territory and getting nothing but empty promises and EU membership in return is obscene. Russia is a growing threat to the whole of Europe. Without NATO membership, Ukraine remains vulnerable. And without the Ukrainians in NATO, so does Europe. This is no act of charity. We need Ukraine as much as they need us. They've held off the world's second biggest army for 3yrs! I'd like to see any NATO country (bar the USA) do the same.
If you were actually on Ukraine's side you would support them at least as much as you're supporting Israel.

Neither the US nor the UK have any say in if the Ukraine should be admitted to the EU, nor do they have any say in what happens with sanctions or Russian assets.
