Good video very detailed bought the keeper and piston ring set just came today as iv always changed these pistons by ramming a cloth inside the head but that keeper looks stable so thanks to.youre video I got my self.one 👍👍👍🇬🇧
Thanks for watching. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Before I got the keeper that's pretty much what I was doing too. The keeper definitely makes it smoother I must say. If you haven't already please consider subscribing and Liking the video. It really helps the channel grow. Thanks again
Thanks for watching! Glad to help. Slow and steady wins the race. I'm guessing you're talking about the cylinder head bolts? 1st thing first make sure you're using the right bit ( I've made this mistake before). Couple of things you could try though. Try tapping the bolt with a hammer ( may need and extension) to kind of shock the threads. The other involves heat ( I don't know if I would use this method unless you are sure all the gas mix vapor is gone from the engine.
I have a fs85 given to me. The exhaust side of the piston is scored. How’s this yamazon special holding up. I’m debating doing this or buying a used oem off eBay for $50
@@HowIDoItFaM awesome thanks for the reply. I’m ordering it now. This is the first time I’ve ever done one. Do I need the ring compressor? I’ve replaced pistons in an atv and just pushed them with my fingernails until they slid in the cylinder lmao 🤣
Your last video says you had an issue with intake gasket. I tried using the original head gasket and it was leaking bad. So I took apart and used the new head gasket and used red gasket maker. Now I still have a leak somewhere. I’m wondering if it’s also my intake gasket. I have an Amazon special carb coming tomorrow so we shall see.
So what happened to that weed whip specifically? Bc i think my grandma poured regular gas in mine and i wanted to know, if just fixing the carburator would fix the problem?😊
Changing the carb won't do much about that. You're biggest issue right now if you lost compression due to the lack of lubrication on the cylinder and piston rings. Did it lock it up? Or can still pull the string and it'll turnover?

Thanks. Any tips on getting very tight T27 screws undone? I don’t want to break the bit 🤔

@@HowIDoItFaM yeah the cylinder head bolts on a Stihl strimmer. In great condition but I don’t have enough torque. I think I’ll get new sockets
Shihl makes petty good bolts. I figure you would mess the bit up before the bolt
@@HowIDoItFaMI got the bolts undone but now I can’t get the head off from the shaft casing. Any tips?
Does the head move at all or does it seem like the piston is stuck inside the head?
Great video! Where did you get the plastic piston compressor and stabilizer tools
Thank you for watching! I appreciate it

I've been using it all summer and it's still running well. Yamazon got this one right it seems like 😂

@davidpavshak330 nahh you don't have to have it. It makes it a little easier but it's not necessary.

You mean regular gas no with no oil mix?
